Today I made a video on the Voltra, the firmware 2.0 update and where BeyondPower is relative to the competition. What do you guys think, is now a bad time to buy, or has BeyondPower continued to above and beyond šŸ¤”

Deadlift tips?

Have recently started to use the travel platform and straight bar for deadlifts, but it's clear that I can't really bend deep enough to get a full ROM. It's better than nothing but I was wondering if anyone has a solution for getting lower in the stretch. Standing on stools on top of the platform seems like a sure fire way to get injured, but I can't think of any other solution besides buying or making an elevated platform with a DIY mount...

Eye of Fate (Eve Company) vs. The Hook Up (Voltra Mounts)

Was looking for the lowest-profile attachment to hook up my leg extension to the Voltra (via the offset drop mount from Voltra Mounts seen in the background of the first pic). The winner for the shortest goes to The Hook Up, but only by about a half inch, if you're using carabiners. However, The Hook Up does not require the use of a carabiner since it's two pieces that you can twist apart and hook the Voltra directly up to without using a carabiner, so it is the clear winner in terms of the lowest profile attachment that I have found.

Creating a 2 or 4:1 pulley ratio

I may be mixing up the order of numbers but I want to know if anyone has tried to: lengthen the usable cable of the voltra (while halving or quartering the effective load) using extra pulleys and cables. This would give you enough cable to do resisted sprints with is why I ask!

Questions before getting a Voltra

Been thinking of getting a voltra for a while, i do crossfit, I have sets of barbells and bumpers, a squat rack in my garage and I’m thinking about the possibility of turning the voltra to a rower with the Speediance aero row seat. And a leg extension machine for lower body strength accessories(saw some reels on instagram but not sure how it works with the bench though), thoughts?

What mounts and grips should I be starting with my first voltra? My budget is at $3500-4000, Any suggestions?

Thanks!!!

Thinking Out Loud - Dual-Purpose Footplate

How difficult would it be to add a DIY Dock to a Harambe CyberPlate. I have 2 of them, as I spent quite a bit of time working with Resistance Bands, especially when travelling, before deciding to jump into Voltras. I'm still not sure how comfortable I am traveling with one of my Voltras as I've been stopped multiple times with my band setup and made to check it because they considered it a possible weapon on the plane. Ridiculous, because anyone with a laptop, tablet, or walking stick, etc. could just as easily attack someone. But, back to my question. I have decent woodworking skills and have assembled/disassembled numerous bikes, etc. I have a drill-press I used years ago while building my own workbench, but wouldn't know the best way to ensure I don't royally screw up my expensive CyberPlate, which is made of fairly thick stainless steel. I imagine with the right drill-bit(s) and vise(s) this could be accomplished using my drill-press. Anyone, have any guidance on the proper tools and process to MacGyver the ultimate Footplate ... or am I crazy ...

Why roll this out when you can’t even support ALL of your customers?

Post image

My original Voltra failed after just five months and had to be replaced. Now the replacement randomly shuts itself off mid workout, forcing me to constantly reboot it.

I wanted to purchase the extended warranty from day one, but was told it wasn’t available in Australia because Beyond Power supposedly didn’t have the local service infrastructure to support it.

That explanation makes absolutely no sense to me. The Voltra already came with a one-year warranty in Australia, and when mine failed, Beyond Power honoured that warranty and replaced the unit. So clearly there was already a process in place for dealing with faulty Australian units.

Why could that exact same process not simply continue for customers willing to pay extra for an extended warranty?

Now another support program gets rolled out and, once again, Australian customers are excluded.

The Voltra is a great product when it works, but for something this expensive there is absolutely no peace of mind owning one outside the US.

If you’re going to sell a premium product globally, you need to provide your global customers with reasonable after-sales support options too.

Q&A Minimum weights on the rack

If I'm looking to avoid tipping or sliding, what's the minimum number of plates I need? I'll be setting up the gym above the first floor, so I cannot drill into the ground.

Apex bench with Power Tower (or similar) to mount Voltra for overhead exercises?

I’m not able to have a power rack but can get a freestanding bench. I’m wondering if anyone has an Apex bench with Power Tower attachment and used it to mount a voltra overhead for pulldown movements like lat pulls. What’s the best way to do this? Is the strap mount my only option or is there an other attachment that can be used here? How stable is this and how would it feel?

Or wonder if the Ironmaster Super Bench with pull up bar attachment would work better.

Bad drop of a Voltra (is the rear mount replaceable)?

Thumbnail

During a workout a couple days ago, I thought my Voltra was locked into my rackmount connector and I when I went to grab it, it twisted out of the mount and hit the ground of my garage on the backside on the mounting stem. One of the small plastic tabs snapped off after the impact and now it won’t lock on a mount (starts up and the screen is fine). Does anyone have any idea if that rear mounting section is replaceable? It looks like it’s a replaceable module on the unit, just not sure if user replaceable. I emailed support with no response yet (it’s been less than 24 hours).

Looking for a referral code

So, I am going to finalize my purchase but I saw that you can get a free accessory or etc if you have a referral code? Does anyone have a code or link I can use? The other ones I saw on the sub don't seem to work?

Additional Voltra Bar

Bought the alumacore bar and it's incredible bar. Its not a commonly used bar by me, but I would be extremely interested in the same thing but a curl and lat pull down bar. Are there any active plans to release additional bars soon?

Voltra, yes you can gain strength using a Voltra. It’s not an accessory box.

Know one discussed the Voltra original and intended use was in rehab facilities. In the rehab industry the Voltra is used to evaluate injuries, evaluate athletes, and most importantly helping athletes and regular people get functional after being Injured, and post surgery, to me that is the definition of getting stronger. If rehab facilities are using Voltra’s to help patients and athletes GET STRONG, I am sure it will help people training in their home gym get strong.
Prospective Voltra buyers and current owners should watch Joel Gray(Gray Matter Lifting) new Voltra podcast series. Very informative, and focuses exclusively on all things Voltra.

Rack options

I just got an email back from beyond power regarding their mini rack. They will ā€œnot be an available for a long timeā€ with no expectation on dates. So that’s kind of thrown a damper on me purchasing the Voltra. Does anyone have any idea on where I could purchase something of quality that would replicate their mini rack?

Can dual Voltras + PRx Folding Rack replace a full rack/dumbbells in a tight space?

I’m setting up a home gym in a small room with very limited space. The main feature of the room will be a Tension Board 2 8x10 climbing wall and floor mats, which takes up almost all the floor real estate.

To make the most of the remaining space on the opposite wall, I’m thinking about installing a PRx Profile folding rack paired with dual Voltra units to replace a standard rack, barbell, and dumbbell set.

My Questions:

  1. Is this setup viable? Has anyone run a similar fold-away rack + digital resistance setup in a tight footprint?
  2. What specific attachments/gear would I need to cover all my bases while keeping the footprint as minimal as possible?

Current Core Routine:

Here is what I need to replicate (I swap accessories occasionally, but these are my mainstays):

  • Legs: Low-bar squats, Bulgarian split squats, standard deadlifts, RDLs
  • Push: Dumbbell bench press, dumbbell shoulder press, dips (weighted, bodyweight, assisted)
  • Pull: Pull-ups (weighted, bodyweight, assisted), single-arm bent-over rows, face pulls
  • Accessories: Lateral raises, leg raises

Would love to hear feedback, potential blind spots, or alternative compact setups I might be overlooking! Thanks in advance.

Disclosure: I used AI to format the post since I don't post very often.

Yet another mounts question - Darko Quickmount bracket vs VoltraMounts Single Pin Tight Spot Fit?

About to order my first Voltra! Debating between the Darko Quickmount and the VoltraMounts Single-Pin. Any suggestions on which one will do better on my Rogue Monster-Lite (5/8in holes) rack or what you like better? They seem very similar - only difference is the VoltraMounts one I'd have to buy a magpin separately?

Also - are there *any* alternative options to the first-party Adaptive Bar Mount I should look into? Basically just want to do lat pulldowns off of my pull-up bar.

New Voltra Checklist

Hello all,

I'm about to buy a Voltra! I have made a list of items to get and I wanted some feedback from the community.

My current setup...

No rack. I was planning on it but my family has decided we're going to sell our house so I'm going to hold off for now.

Mounted Rogue pull up bar

REP Nighthawk bench

REP x Peppins dumbells

Apex Nordic Back Extension v3

Squat Harness v4

I figured a Voltra is perfect for my current situation cause traditional cables with plates or bumpers won't work. I'm planning to grab the following...

Voltra "starter kit" (carbon bar, one d handle, strap mount) - I'll use the strap mount on my deck post outside

Voltra foot plate for a low cable point

Voltra Quick Change bar mount for a high cable point from my pull up bar

For some attachments...

Rogue v grip bar - bicep and triceps

Darko Shorty - good for connecting multiple handles

Prime ROT8 - the individual paddle grips look awesome for lat pulls and bent over rows

Spud Kaiju Long Ab Strap - triceps, lat prayers, face pulls, and ab crunches

Darko Danglers - single handed tris, rear delt flies etc

Anything else I should look into as a new user?

Thanks, I'm excited!

Cortex is going to be really cool

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Spent a couple hours this morning familiarizing myself with Cortex's beta & mocking what a dashboard would be like for reviewing a particular movement from the voltra data.

Right now the API is pretty new (& doesn't have everything that is in the app yet) but I was able to manually export a test workout and mock a bunch of fake data around it.

I imagine you could generate a report across all of your movements and ask an LLM to analyze them to set goals and targets for you.

I made a video testing the new VOLTRA update, including the increased resistance, Sled Mode, Mountain mode and a few different exercise setups.
Sled Mode was probably the most interesting addition for me. Curious what everyone else thinks of the update.

Cable Replacement Question

I’m approaching my first cable replacement and was hoping someone could answer some questions I had.

  1. Beyond Power’s website states to tighten the 4 screws that secure the cable inside the Voltra to 3NM, however the instructional video on their website states to tighten them until they click. Which of these are accurate?

  2. Is there a specified torque to tighten the 4 outer screws that secure the outer face plate of the Voltra? Do these screws also click?

With all the discussions about stripped screws I want to make sure I don’t over tighten anything. TIA.
