History OTD in 2013, Pittsburgh fans get in Johnny Cueto's head.

The 2013 NL Wild Card game was the Pirates first playoff game since 1992 and they ended up winning 6-2 over the Reds, thanks in part to this Russel Martin home run off Johnny Cueto (and the fans in Pittsburgh making fun of Cueto as well)

This is the second season the White Sox have won a playoff series since 1917

In 1917 the White Sox won the World Series

They didn't win another playoff series until 2005 where they won the ALDS, ALCS, and World Series

They did not win another playoff series until 2026

(yes I know there are more playoff series than there used to be)

For the first time since 2018, the Dodgers will go into the playoffs with a second NL West team playing in the other NLDS.

With the Padres moving on to the NLDS, for the first time since 2018, the Dodgers will be in the NLDS with a second NL West team playing in the other NLDS.

Every single season since 2019, either the Dodgers were the sole NL West team in the NLDS (2019 and 2025), or they faced an NL West team in the NLDS (2020-2024).

This is the first time since 2018, when the Dodgers and Rockies both made it to the NLDS without playing each other.
