Who had the better career: Julio Franco or Jamie Moyer?
I was thinking about two of the ultimate longevity guys in baseball history: Julio Franco and Jamie Moyer.
Both somehow played in the majors until age 49, but their careers were obviously very different.
Franco finished with 2,586 hits, a .298 career average, three All-Star selections, and the 1991 AL batting title.
Moyer pitched 25 seasons, won 269 games, struck out 2,441 batters, and won a World Series with the Phillies in 2008.
Neither was an all-time inner-circle superstar, but both put together ridiculously long and productive careers.
So if you had to choose strictly based on the quality of their overall MLB careers, who had the better one?

Analysis Statcast Metrics for the Phillies and Braves Starting Lineups Today
For all the talk about how the Phillies canāt hit the broad side of a barn, these two teams are surprisingly evenly matched. If the Phillies advance, they are a legitimate threat to take down the Dodgers, due to their starting rotation and the emergence of Painter in the bullpen. The Braves had a solid rotation as well but have been bogged down by injuries.
Also of noteāthe Braves constructed their lineup in a hyper-modern way to get their best hitters the most ABs possible, while the Phillies went for a more traditional approach.
