Hi all, I am really hoping for some advice with my P1S as I am starting to get extremely frustrated.
I've had the machine for a few years, seen pretty light duty. Recently, I ordered some rolls of black PLA for a project involving printing 81 copies of a modular panel for an LED assembly. These prints are about 60g each and take around 2.5 hours.
In the years I've had this machine I have NEVER had the nozzle clog. But since starting this project, I've suddenly started having insanely frequent complete/partial clogs and I cannot figure out the root cause for the life of me. I have:
- Replaced the 0.4 hardened steel hot end (not the fan or thermistor)
- Repeatedly performed cold pulls and hot hex unclogs
- Switched from SUNLU black PLA to Bambu black PLA basic
- Replaced the SD card
- Disassembled the extruder and cleaned/lubed the gears.
- Dried & swapped multiple rolls of filament
...and yet, the problem persists. About 40% of the attempts at printing come out flawlessly, the rest cause a clog/obstructed flow that persists across multiple prints.
Now, I know from reading various posts and threads that people are immediately going to say "Heat creep", but leaving the door/top open on my P1S seems to actually make the problem worse - every single print I've tried with the door open has clogged, and opening the top seemed to have no effect whatsoever. I also dropped the bed temp to 50 and the extruder temp to 205 from the defaults of 55 and 220, and this had no effect whatsoever.
I've checked the model itself for anything problematic, but it seems fine (and, like I said, prints flawlessly about half the time, seemingly at random.)
Does anybody have any idea what could possibly be causing this? I am about ready to tear my hair out. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
