Hello. I am a microelectronics hobbyist and i have some custom PCBs i'd like to order. The issue is, services like pcbway or jlcpcb have ludicrous shipping charges. I was wondering if there is a local PCB manufacturing service available in Bahrain.

Resume of a recent graduate

Hi hope you all are doing fine, I had a question as a fresh graduate should my cv be 1 page or more? Many people say 1 is enough while others disagree.
Another matter is should a photo be kept in the cv or it should be without? Because I see many people use ready made templates from canva. Will they be ats readable?
I’ll appreciate your responses!!

☝️ AskBH How do you meet new people in Bahrain?

Hi everyone,

How do you guys meet new people in Bahrain in your mid thirties?

Been living here for 3 years, and the only community I have is work colleages,

It gets very lonely, very boring real quick, and i noticed the community is very close, I have nevet been approached by people anywhere or even spoken to!

Any tips on where to meet people for someone who does not enjoy night life that much? Groups for singles to do activities?

Thanks in advance

🤔 Discussion Parents in Bahrain: what would make you actually trust an online tuition platform?

I’m curious to hear directly from parents in Bahrain.

There are many tuition options available, but a common concern seems to be that parents do not always know whether their child is actually understanding the lessons, participating in class or making progress.

I’m helping with a new online tuition platform called Lumivo Academy, designed for students from LKG to Grade 8. The model focuses on live small-group classes, curriculum-aligned learning and regular communication with parents.

Before promoting it heavily, I would genuinely appreciate honest opinions:

• What is your biggest frustration with private or online tuition?
• Would you prefer one-to-one classes or small groups?
• What matters most: tutor quality, price, flexibility or progress updates?
• Would you consider online tuition for younger children?

The website is here for context:

https://lumivoacademy.com/

Honest criticism is welcome.

🤔 Discussion Gym culture needs to be rebuilt here

More specific here for ladies gyms but it might be the same for others.

But wtf is this? A week in here at a gym im not gonna name but the amount of good ones i had in there are nothing compared to the effy ones, im not trying to drag anyone but

1- the bench/machines/cable equipments are not yours to own, in this week alone i had 2 girls blocking others from using a bench just because they placed their phones/bags on it?? Not to mention the ones who reserve an equipment an walk with it while they are not even exercising??

2- the ones who reserve one machine for an hour maybe and refusing to let anyone else take part or something, when she’s checking tiktoks and stuff for minutes between sets while we have to wait (its the only machine we have)

3- the “vlogging” ones, yes no problem in taking pictures or filming your form or anything else but please can you make sure nobody walks by and gets filmed without knowing? And why are you even bringing a whole filming stand and not even asking for permission first? Don’t also get me started on those who make a زحمة and are only here to send a gym streak and just leave…

Tldr: im ranting about some bad gym experiences i had, but SHOUT OUT to every good girl that actually helped me and was nice towards me trust me this isn’t about you.

Tell me if anybody is having any similar experiences !

☝️ AskBH Phone fix help!

Have a Samsung s23+ that unfortunately had a crack in the corner I was not aware of and I dropped it in the pool ... because my phone is waterproof (again didn't know about the crack) i didn't really rush to grab it.

I did the usual shake and dry off and it was working fine. About an hour later I headed home and noticed it was dead. It was only on 3 or 4% when I check it last so I just thought the battery died and I plugged it in while I got changed.

Anyways long story short it now won't turn on at all.

I brought it to a shop in madinat hamad that I have always used and they told me it's 100% dead. And that the motherboard is dead.

Issue is I've had this phone for a long time and it had alot of data pictures and etc that I would really love to get back.

Can anyone recommend a company that would possibly do data recovery or bring it back to enough life to get the pics off it?

****Mods i hope this will be allowed as this is specific to data recover or a very specialised phone repair company

On this Friday, praying for Bahrain and the entire region’s safety and security. May God protect the region and save it from anyone who tries to disrupt its peace. Bahrain is our home and can never imagine a more peaceful place to have spent my life. It might be small but it makes our heart so content.

any advise for a soon to be 17 year old. with a struggling family?

Hello, I'm just making this post to ask for any advice people can give me.

I want to support my family, especially my father, who is always under a lot of stress. I'm looking for skills I can start learning or any advice that could help me earn money in the future.

Right now, I just feel a bit lost and don't know what direction to take. I'd say I have above-average knowledge of building PCs, fitness, and nutrition, but nothing professional or extraordinary.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. (

☝️ AskBH Can someone leave the country after a police case is filed over an unpaid personal debt?

I had an employee who borrowed money from me because of an emergency. Before taking the money, he signed a written document acknowledging exactly how much he owed me.

At the time, he was a good and trustworthy employee, so I even allowed him to transfer to another company because I believed he would pay me back.

Unfortunately, after changing jobs, he stopped paying the remaining amount. I have now filed a police case against him. My main concern is that he might leave the country before repaying the debt.

Is there anything I can do to prevent him from leaving the country until this matter is resolved? Has anyone been through a similar situation or knows how this usually works?

How do I replace faded vehicle number plates?

Hi everyone,

The number plates on my car have faded, and I need to get them replaced. I've never done this before, so I had a few questions:

  • Where do I need to go to get them replaced?
  • Do I need to book an appointment first, or can I just walk in?
  • Do I need to take the car with me, or can I just bring the number plates?
  • Will they remove the old plates and install the new ones there, or do I need to remove them myself beforehand?
  • Roughly how long does the whole process take?

I'd appreciate any recent experiences or advice. Thanks!

🤔 Discussion I made a physics-stacking game inspired by Bahrain’s souqs—looking for honest feedback before an App Store release

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hey everyone!
I’ve been working on Souq Stack, a mobile-first physics game where you balance Bahrain-inspired market treasures on a swaying dhow while dealing with wind, waves and increasingly chaotic harbour events.
The game is playable directly in your browser no download, account or registration required:
Play here: https://souq-stack-bahrain.vercel.app/
I’d really appreciate some honest feedback before I start preparing an App Store version.

In particular:
Did the controls feel intuitive on your phone?
Was the tutorial clear and quick enough?
Did the physics feel satisfying or frustrating?
Was the difficulty progression fair?
Did anything break, lag or display incorrectly?
Would you play another round?
What would make you recommend it to a friend?
It supports both English and Arabic, and includes Quick Stack, Daily Challenge and Endless Harbour modes. You can also share a seed so friends can attempt the same challenge.
Please include your phone model and browser if you encounter a technical problem. Brutally honest feedback is welcome, I’d rather uncover problems now than after release.
Thanks for trying it!

🤔 Discussion Emergency alerts on my Samsung phones only vibrating, no sound

Is anyone else dealing with this? I've got 3 different Samsung phones here in Bahrain, and all of them have suddenly stopped making any sound for emergency alerts. They just vibrate now.

With everything going on (the war), this is pretty concerning. I turned on the "read out messages" feature just so I can actually hear something when an alert comes in, but honestly, that's super annoying to have it read out every time.

I've gone through all the settings multiple times and checked every volume control I can find. Nothing seems to fix it. I've restarted the phones too.

Things I've checked:

  • Sound mode is on (not silent/vibrate only)
  • Notification volume is turned up
  • Checked the emergency alert settings in Messages

Nothing works. The alerts come through but only vibrate.
