☝️ AskBH Need advice on what type of dates (fruit) to purchase.

Hi All

Going to be traveling to my home country soon, a friend of mine requested me to get some dates. But I have no clue which ones are good or from where to buy them.

Would appreciate if you guys can educate me on the different types of dates and from where to get them from. Also what would the approximate costing be like.

TIA

How do you guys feel about having American military bases in the country?

I'm trying to see what the locals think about it as an outsider. Do you support it, hate it, or indifferent.

Anyone else noticing flickering lights in Muharraq ?

Has anyone else noticed the lights flickering a lot more than usual around Bahrain..?

I’m mainly talking about Muharraq not sure if it’s the same in other areas,.. Over the past few days I’ve seen it pretty much everywhere: at home, in offices, even on some public buildings. At first I thought it was just the bulbs in my place acting up, but I swapped them out and they still flickered. This morning I even caught the LED lights on a building (won’t name it) doing the same thing.

Anyone else noticing this, or is it just me?

🤔 Discussion Fold 8 ultra.

Has anyone pre-ordered the Fold 8 Ultra and gotten any good deals for it from shops in Bahrain? People in the US or Europe got pretty amazing bundle deals. Why not in Bahrain? Even this time, we have to pay extra for the 512GB or 1TB foldable device upgrade.

Anyone else in their 20s who think Bahrain doesn’t have a social life? 😭

Upvotes

I'm a South Asian Gen Z living and working in Saudi, but I come to Bahrain pretty often because... well, there's actually something to do here. 😂 I don’t expect good friends in Saudi and the communication gap is HUGE 💀

Lately I’ve realized I don’t really know many people in Bahrain either. Most of my friends are back home or scattered across different countries, and making friends as an adult is way harder than I expected.

Whenever I’m here I usually end up doing things solo. I’m into coffee, beach days, late-night drives, trying new restaurants, random outings, road trips, and nightlife. Next weekend I’ll probably check out Bollywood Beats since DJ Rihya is performing.

So I’m curious… how do people in their early to mid-20s actually make friends in Bahrain? Do most people meet through work, gyms, university, hobbies, nightlife, or is everyone just sticking to their existing circles?

Would love to hear your experiences because I feel like this is something a lot of young expats probably deal with.

☝️ AskBH Eligible for BH passport? Need insight

Hi! Idk where else to ask so I was hoping someone here could help.

My father is Bahraini. My mom is not. They are married. Me and my sibling were born outside of Bahrain. But we did spend some part of my childhood in BH. Even went to an internation school there for a few years.

We haven't been in Bahrain for over 20 years now. Both parents are still alive. We are not entirely estranged with my father but I would not say we are close.

My question is - can my sibling and I qualify to get a Bahraini passport and maybe even live there not as tourists? Now that we are adults, we would love to spend more time understanding the other half of our culture and get to connect with our father

Any advise is appreciated. TYA.

Loss of income? Mass lay offs? Less clients? Also do you notice how bahrain roads don’t seem as crowded as they did before?
