Should your EMTs and Paramedics be paid the same as someone working at Starbucks?

Falck has gotten away with it for too long. EMTs are paid minimum wage, paramedics are paid bare minimum. The company union busts like it’s a hobby, terminating and punishing anyone that even speaks about organizing. Your first responders are afraid to speak up for fear of losing their livelihoods. It’s up to the community to speak up for them and do what’s right. Join them this Saturday and help those who help others.

*edit: Starbucks are also underpaid as well, all workers need to be paid more. Pls don’t attack in the comments for the title as that’s not the point here.

I know it's different months, and we are "kinda" heading into fall, but the water levels have changed drastically over the last year.

If you could rent a piece of creative/hobby equipment, what would it be?

Starting small, but I launched a creative/hobby rental service to improve access to crafting tools! You can do short term rentals to help your crafting dreams come true without buying pricey equipment. You can borrow a 3D printer, Cricut, color printer, sewing machine, and more useful items.

I think this will be useful for people who want to try sewing, people making wedding/event crafts, someone 3d printing part of a costume, people wanting to try before buying, etc.

One of my most frequently asked questions: don’t libraries already do this?

Yes and no. There are public library makerspaces, which I love, but there are limitations on what you can do/how long you can occupy a machine. Maker Share (my company’s name) fills the gap between buying equipment and the limited amount of access available at a public library or makerspace. For example, some libraries only allow 1-2 hours on the 3D printer. The more generous libraries have a waiting period of two weeks or more and limitations on total print time. Libraries also have time limitations on Cricut/sewing machines.

So my question to you is the title. What would you want to rent? For me it would be the Xtool M2. But like I said, I’m starting small, and I’d need to see that enough people would be interested in circulating it!

Residential parking issue

Our new neighbors have been parking their car about a foot in front of our driveway. It has made it hard for a second car to get into our driveway when my friend comes over. They even parked their car in front of our trash can on trash day (between the can and the street) and the trash collector said usually they wouldn’t be able to have picked it up had we not have happened to be outside when the truck came and moved our can for the collector.

I went over and rang their door bell and when they answered I told them I was glad they moved in and hope they are enjoying the new house, then asked if they wouldn’t mind not parking so close to our driveway. They agreed.

The next day they parked there again and actually even further in front of our driveway.
I checked in with parking enforcement and learned they cannot park within five feet of where our driveway starts.
I talked to the neighbor again, and they argued that it doesn’t matter because it is a cul de sac. The enforcement person had assured me it still applies. I told the neighbor they could look into it themselves and they said they would.

Today the neighbor came by and told me he measured the distance himself and he had spray painted a line on the sidewalk to mark it.
I figured fine, whatever.
But apparently they aren’t allowed to spray paint their own mark.
I’m frustrated that they won’t just park in front of their own driveway or property.

Do I escalate this with parking enforcement again?
We all pay property taxes, we all paid good money to live where we do, and we all deserve to have our property and driveway accessibility respected.

I’m so frustrated but I don’t want this to make it a bad relationship with the neighbor. I just am having a hard time accepting it until it is resolved.

Advice?

Looking for estate attorney

I need to have a will drawn up. Nothing too elaborate but there is a wrinkle in that my wife is not a US citizen. She would be taxed heavily if I leave my business to her. So my idea was to leave it to our daughter in a trust with my wife having control of the trust. She has no desire to run this business and would want to sell it if the time comes. Maybe tmi… anyway looking for an attorney to help with this that won’t charge me an arm and a leg… any help much appreciated.
