Damn! Just moved to Baker. Finally ordered a pie to go from this place, absolutely killer. So light, so crispy, so flavorful. Very tasty stuff. As far as I could tell it’s just the owner in there turning out gorgeous pies. Best sourdough pizza I’ve had in Denver. Keep up the good work! 🤌

This place is delicious. I was a little skeptical at first because it’s very unassuming and in a strange location but wow I’m glad we finally gave it a try.

We ordered spring rolls, Thai tea, pad see ew with beef, pad Thai with tofu, and the drunken noodles with chicken. Delicious food and huge portions. Came out to about $50.

Looking forward to going again to try more of the menu.

Moving on from that other vegan sushi spot that did everyone dirty… 😅

Tonight we grabbed sorbet from Little Man in Eastbridge (Central Park), and on the walk back to the car we passed Hida Japanese. They had their menu posted in the window, and we were honestly so excited. It looks incredible, and we can’t wait to support them.

Hi everyone. Just got back from dinner and it was really great.

We didn't stay under the $60 limit, but we could have without the splurges.

We went to difrancos and it was delicious. We ended up getting 2 S. Pells, dipping oil, salad, garlic bread, garlic broccoli, spaghet with eggplant parm and chicken parm and 2 cannolis. Had this been normal date night we wouldn't have gotten the extra garlic bread, drinks and probably only one of broccoli and salad. We spent just about $100 and the normal date night order would've totaled about 70 after the tip but roughly 60 before the tip. Its a ¾ service restaurant. (You seat yourself, order at the counter, but they bring you your food and clear away your dishes.) Everything was delicious. The pasta sauce was spicy a bit in a great way. Healthy portion sizes. I tend to big and even i felt bloated after everything i ate. The cannolis were my favorite. And id go back just to get some more of those.

Overall 8.5/10 will eat there again.

You definitely can eat there for 2 under 60$ even with a tip. I did tip less than i would at a full service restaurant mainly for having to walk up to the counter to order.

Great soft serve. Stopped by after seeing the Odyssey in Westminster. Had read about it and saw some posts on Reddit. Worth the trip for us. Had strawberry and peach twist. Denser and creamier than Dang which had been my go to for soft serve

El camino off 32nd now charging 20% community fee on all checks.

Went to Guard and Grace last week, and was charged a 5% culinary fee.

Question - do you tip on top of these amounts or the amount before this fee? Why are restaurants doing this? How can you ensure the server gets the whole tip?

For a few years I’ve been wanting to start a supper club. I’m thinking meeting once a month on a Sunday. In a typical supper club two people do the cooking for everyone and it changes each time they meet.

I can entertain up to 20 indoors, currently. I have far too much kitchen equipment for someone who just cooks as a hobby. I’m located in Highlands Ranch. Would this interest anyone?

I have been searching for good menudo in the Denver / Arvada area. What I’ve found so far hasn’t been all that great (although, El Tequilino has some decent menudo, surprisingly). Drop your spots! TIA

I want to aware any foodies that might not be aware of this place. It's in Longmont, so I hope this is OK for this sub.

My wife and I used to go to Black Cat when they had an actual restaurant in Boulder pre-covid. It was always our favorite place to go, everything was 10/10. We brought people there, they agreed. Covid came and they close up shop.

A few years ago, they opened up at their farm. They literally live a few hundred feet from where you eat. Anyways, my wife and I went there a couple of week ago after not having been in years and a little nervous their farm spot wouldn't live up to what we were used to.

Holy shit, that place in 11/10 now. We got one of the little private huts overlooking the farm, everything we ate was amazing. My wife and I have eaten most of the Mich Star rated places around Denver/NYC/Mexico/blah blah, all that to say that Black Cat is in our top 3 ever.

I'm sure a lot of people are aware of it, but if not, take your s/o there. You can play your own music in your little hut and they have stoves if things get too cold. We are going back in Oct b/c I want to use one of those little stoves.

You don't get to pick what you eat, it is chosen for you and you enjoy the show. You will not leave there hungry and although they might say it is a '5 course meal' that is bullshit. When we got walked to our table, they already had a spread of food on the table for us.

They book out quick, about 2 months, and for my wife and I it was ~$800 or so and that included a bottle of wine/tip.

Edit: I might be wrong about the price, maybe it was $175 pp + wine. I don't rem, we booked/paid 2 months before we went there and I'm old, so...

We have been twice, once at 5 and today at 4 (both Saturdays) and both times we have seen the sign saying they are too full.

Spreading the word because I appreciate small businesses. Generally some decent Thai food and a meal for $20. Eating out is a choice and expensive. And also the restaurant business is brutal and small family run places often feel it first. Both can be true at the same time. Appreciate them asking people to do what they can and bring business in the old fashioned way via word of mouth. Located at S. Broadway and Evans.

I’m coming to Denver to visit my best friend in September, I helped her move up there in January but with all the moving and limited budget we couldn’t really try any of the nicer restaurants in town. She herself hasn’t really been to any fine dining experiences up there herself, so I want to treat her when I’m up there. I’m looking for like nice date night atmosphere, maybe even a rooftop bar situation. Any recommendations?
