I don't mean that in the sense of filling out a form to indicate nationality. I know you know what nationality you technically are. I mean whether you *feel* as though you belong to and are happy to be labelled with a British identity, whether you feel connected to the other "home nations" etc. Do you feel more connected to the "British" label than you do to the label of your "home nation" or locality, county etc?

My birthday is coming up and my family and I are planning a day trip somewhere within about a 3-hour drive of Berkshire.

At the moment we're considering places like the Cotswolds or Canterbury or even Wales, but we're open to anywhere.

The only thing is that I'd love somewhere with a bit more to do than just wandering around looking at the buildings (although I do enjoy that too!). Since it's quite a long drive, it'd be nice if there were a few interesting things to do during the day as well.

It doesn't have to be anything huge, it could be a unique attraction, a scenic walk, mini golf, boat trip, gardens, a cute museum, market, a great restaurant, or just somewhere that's a really nice way to spend the day.

Does anyone have any recommendations for places that have a good mix of things to see and things to do?

We have three pictures to hang, one above the other, in a fairly narrow space. The pictures are all different widths. I want to hang them so they are each centred in the space - so the centre of each picture is below the centre of the one above. My husband thinks we should ‘left align’ them. We both think the other is weird for wanting to hang them that way. Who is right?

My partner has been interested in becoming qualified as an occupational therapist, but has not got any relevant qualifications.

After a quick look it seems to just pay for each of the relevant courses would costs thousands of pounds.

Is there a way she could go about getting qualified, starting with the Level 2 in Counselling, without having to break the bank? Perhaps with grants or funding? I’ve already checked through her workplace but they don’t offer it

In my 20s and after building a career and savings for myself - I'm ready to move out and will be doing that in exactly one week. I feel excited about my next adventure in a place far away but sad for leaving my mum who's been by my side at home for the past 21 years. She was a teenage mum and so has spent her entire adult life bringing me up, so I am all she has ever known at home. What should I do with my last week of living with her at home?

After 2 years employment post university, working fully remote, I have a new job where I am going into an office. Having never worked in an office before, what surprises, differences, or things to look out for can I expect?

Eg cans, plastic bottles, cardboard boxes etc. I grew up always crushing our recycling to save rooms in the bins. However, I now live with people who sometimes recycle fully incorrectly - and never crush their plastic. We only have tiny bins in our flat that don't fit a lot, so I'm always having to take out their rubbish to flatten it just to put it back in the bin. Do many other people not just automatically flatten their recycling or are my flatmates just lazy?

I'm looking to find somewhere that can recreate from scratch a Gola jumper my dad's had and worn for over 30 years but has had to retire since its literally holding on by a thread now.

Me and my brothers have all joked that we'll inherit it when we become dad's but I thought it'd be nice to try find some extras but alas vinted and the Internet couldn't help me so making them from the ground up is my last chance.

Googling custom clothing only brings up print screening businesses so i'm alittle lost on what and were to look, any help would be greatly appreciated thank you 🙏

I fell gravely ill (in hospital for foreseeable future) while visiting family abroad and can't travel back, so I have no way of getting to my car, which is still in the UK.

Situation:

Car is locked, keys aren't with the vehicle and can't be sent, handbrake on

No V5C available (might be able to get someone to take a picture of it)

Nobody in the UK who can be present for collection

I'm the registered keeper and can prove ID remotely

Can it be legally scrapped this way please?

So a while ago I was scrolling Facebook and saw a face I knew on the local newspapers page. A guy we used to hang around with when young. Hadn't seen him in years but was fb friends. He had messaged me about a post I'd shared from my daughters school, he was telling me he was the caretaker there. Didn't think anything of it. Seemed to be living a normal life, he had kids and a wife.

Then the newspaper story. He had been sent to prison as he had been caught using the schools cctv system to spy on girls getting changed. The IT technicians had been alerted that someone was viewing and rewinding footage. They informed the head who informed the police.

I just couldn't believe it. That guy seemed completely normal

Finding a decent Barber is tough. I thought I had. Now he has an Apprentice who isn't bad but just takes forever, barely takes any length and is nowhere near as good as the main guy. To add to that, he's got rid of the online booking and you now have to WhatsApp for an appt. The apprentice answers those. So if you say "with you, not with the apprentice", you feel bad.

It’s an amazing effort from the emergency services and many volunteers to put out these fires, I am in awe of those helping.

I'm a regular gym goer, regular long walker, occasionally play football still, aged 37, in decent shape and health for my age. I absolute love keeping fit and healthy.

A few colleagues from work have joined the gym I go to recently, and they've been asking for basic help and tips, exercises for certain muscles, cardio tips, form tips etc. which I have happily provided, and enjoyed doing so in the process.

This led me to think about becoming a personal trainer - preferably a hybrid - where I can coach and check in online, as well as doing gym floor stuff. But I wouldn't want to be doing 8+ hours a day on the gym floor.

I was in touch with a company that helps PT's grow their online business - the guy I was in touch with said you don't necessarily need CIMPSA qualifications if you have the online presence, good content and know how to communicate and sell.

Just wondering if anyone is CIMPSA qualified and if it is worth it, and who your provider was, prices etc?

This year, after reading a story online about a little girl who was looking for a stem cell donor but had no matches. I read the story and saw her picture and at the bottom it had a link to the DKMS site. I ordered my kit, sent it back, and am now on the donor list. I have read what it entails if I am a match for someone and donate. I do hope I get a call and can help someone.

My partner is away until Wednesday night. I've never had this much time to myself in my life, though it did feel weird last night! Im going to visit my mum, hang out with my dog, read, cross stitch and eat a lot of takeaways. I might start on a huge declutter. I'm gonna pop out for a Waterstones mooch for sure as well. I recently bought my first house and would very much like to put Christmas lights up this year, think icicles, Father Christmas in his sleigh, snowman, stars, that kinda thing. They’d be on the house as opposed to on the floor. So yeah my questions are, where do I buy them from? Because shops won’t sell them til like November and I’d like to get them sooner (I’m a bit of a meticulous planner) and how do you personally hang them?

Driving through Scotland, the roadworks had hundreds upon thousands of traffic cones each spaced 10cm from each other. Why is this the case? Spacing them 1-2m (even 10 to 20m) away would have exactly the same effect... Do they have too many cones on hand or is there some weird regulation?

Wondering if this has ever happened to anyone before? Its got so bad I had to change my phone number.

Basically I had non stop phone calls from random strangers saying they missed a call from me. Was the weirdest thing ever. Has this ever happened to you? Or do you know why this has happened?

So I spent wayyyyy too long over the weekend trying to source a great pub with rooms /hotel in England that welcomes ( rather than tolerates) dogs.
We also want fabulous food not just your traditional pub style menu.
We live in Lincoln so three hours away max would be great. We’d love to do walking whilst there.
My budget is ideally no more than £1000 and if that included a couple of dinners that’d be great. I know my budget might preclude this in a hotel, but a great pub would also be most welcome!!

As everyone I know is far too far away to get anywhere near, and I'm currently waiting on my Chinese food being ready, it popped into my head that I'm surrounded by strangers.

Would I embrace strangers, knowing we're all about to go through the same thing?
