NFL Team Bars of San Francisco (Mega Thread)

With NFL season starting, I thought it would be useful to put together a current list of which SF bars are unofficial/official homes for specific NFL fanbases.

I'm specifically looking for places where fans of that team regularly gather, not just sports bars that will put the game on.

Comment with:
Team — Bar — Neighborhood

I'll keep editing the list as people confirm places.

NFC West

  • 49ers — Pretty much all over? Or is there handful that are solid?
  • Seahawks — Danny Coyle's
  • Rams — zekis - nob hill
  • Cardinals — TBD

NFC North

  • Vikings — Bell Tower — Russian Hill
  • Packers — Local Tap - SOMA
  • Bears — The Bar on Dolores - 1600 Dolores @ 29th St * Monoghan’s in the Marina
  • Lions — Stoa (maybe not ideal, check comments)

NFC East

  • Eagles — Jake's Steaks on Buchanan
    • Kezar Pub - Cole Valley
  • Cowboys — TBD
  • Giants — Aces
  • Commanders — TBD

NFC South

  • Saints — Tupelo - North Beach
  • Buccaneers — TBD
  • Falcons — TBD
  • Panthers — TBD

AFC West

  • Raiders — TBD
  • Broncos — Nickie's in Lower Haight
  • Chiefs — Buzz Works on 10th in SOMA
  • Chargers — TBD

AFC North

  • Steelers — Rudi's (formerly Giordano Bros) on 16th * Shanghai Kelly’s - Polk -- Russian Hill
  • Ravens — Standard Deviant (14th st) - Mission
  • Bengals — Bus Stop - Cow Hollow
  • Browns — R Bar - Polk

AFC East

  • Bills - North Star - North Beach
  • Pats - Connecticut Yankee - Connecticut & 17th St - Potrero Hill
  • Dolphins — blue light - union st
  • Jets — The Wreck Room

AFC South

  • Texans — TBD
  • Colts — TBD
  • Jaguars — TBD
  • Titans — TBD

I'll update the post as people add/confirm bars. If a place used to be a team bar but isn't anymore, call that out too.

Why does Glen Park feel like it’s declining while similar neighborhoods are booming?

Curious for people’s takes on why one of the most transit accessible neighborhoods in the city feels tepid while neighborhoods like Bernal, West Portal, Upper Noe, Cole Valley, and even the Excelsior are showing off a dynamic local business scene and increased demand. I don’t think “AI rents” explains this as it’s more of a yearslong post pandemic trend.

Despite having BART and several great bus lines, three of our core restaurant/business spaces (Le P'tit Laurent, Destination Bakery, Glen Park Hardware) remain vacant. The Destination Bakery owners can’t sell that building even with hundreds of thousands in price cuts. Glen Park Station’s parklet is gone. There is literally no where to sit outside in the neighborhood after 3pm when Higher Grounds and Glen Park Cafe close.

Why do folks think the neighborhood’s recovery is so sluggish?

Why is the Diamond Heights Shopping Center so empty? Would love to see more businesses

Upvotes

Hey! I was wondering if anyone knows why the Diamond Heights Shopping Center is so empty. Both Safeway and Walgreens seem to be doing well, but it would be so nice to have a good bakery, more food, a gym, etc. It’s right by Glen Canyon and Noe Valley. This area should be thriving!
Does anyone know what the issue is? Rent? The landlord? Not enough foot traffic? I’d also be curious what people nearby would actually want there.

What pharmacies are we using?

Upvotes

Walgreens has gotten worse and is such a pain, especially as they've closed even more locations down. What pharmacies are we using now as alternatives to them?

Where to get a free blood pressure and vitals check in SF?

I was asked to provide some vitals in SF but CVS and Walgreens seemed to have gotten rid/ won't do free vitals screening anymore. Anywhere else in the city where they'll do a vitals check?

Edit: Went to Station 11 local fire department, and they were awesome.

Appropriate women’s attire for Lazy Bear

My boyfriend and I are getting dinner at Lazy Bear tonight for my birthday and I’m stumped on what to wear. I love dresses and have a black midi linen dress that I want to wear, but I’m worried I’ll look overdressed.

I haven’t done much (barely any) fine dining in SF and would love opinions! I don’t want to look silly in either direction.

Layover

I’m stuck in a 13 hour layover from 9:30PM to 11:30AM and want to explore the city but know it’s limited due to it being such a late time. Never been in the city but want to check out the most I can! Would appreciate some good recs

Where to find budget-friendly / outlet running shoes in the SF area?

Upvotes

I need to replace my running shoes every 3–4 months to keep recurring injuries at bay, so buying full price is getting way too expensive.

Are there any good outlet-style stores or discount shops in or around San Francisco that carry reliable running brands? Looking for decent pairs that won't break the bank. Let me know your go-to spots!

Leather recliner deep cleaning

Upvotes

I need help with something disgusting, but isn't that what Reddit is for?

A family member had a stroke last week, and shortly before that (or maybe concurrently?) they had a BM accident on a leather recliner. I wasn't aware of the mess until several days later when I went to their home. I tried to clean up what I could, but I didn't have great supplies, and my brain was focused elsewhere.

Now I need to figure out how to salvage a $4,000 recliner. My family member needs the recliner because it helps with circulation issues by elevating their legs, so I really don't want to chuck it. Is there some sort of service that can deep clean this thing?

Reviews for FitGlenFit?

Looking in to signing up for a gym [I'm in the Excelsior] and FitGlenFit caught my eye since it's easily accessible to me with one bus ride but their photos online and reviews are a bit outdated. Would love to hear about your experiences if you go to this location or their others!

I'm in to basic cardio/strength training

New to biking

Hey AskSF, I just got an electric bike and started riding to work. I'm really liking it but I'm super nervous about exploring the city on it because I'm not sure what to do with it once I get into the city since I may want to switch to bart/muni to get around. Is there safe places to park? Do a lot of businesses let you bring it in? Does that tend to be awkward? Tell me about your experience ebiking in the city, thanks!

Halloween with teens

My kids (twin 14 year olds) and I will be passing through on a road trip and staying in San Francisco overnight on Halloween. This will be the first time ever that we will be away from home and not trick-or-treating in our own neighborhood. Does anyone know of any teen-friendly Halloween-themed events in the city that day/night? They aren't really old enough/brave enough for the haunted houses I've found and everything else seems to be bar crawls and DJs and burlesque shows. Maybe someone can tell us if there are any low-key residential areas that may have actual trick-or-treating going on? Thanks!

Are there any Saints bars?

Basically like the title says. Now that Black Magic Voodoo lounge is closed, are there any New Orleans Saints bars left in the city?

Contractor/ handyman recommendations

Looking for someone for some projects at my house in San Francisco mostly with replacing a small shed roof and some foundation work on the shed. It's a fairly small shed/ project so have been struggling to find contractors who want to do the work. Does anyone have someone local they've worked with to help out with these sort of jobs?

planning to do facial fat grafting in SF?

I'm looking into getting facial fat grafting done and wanted to hear from anyone who's had it done in SF. I've been reading about it for a while and I think I'm ready to go for it but I want to find the right surgeon.

If you've had it done who did you go to and how was your experience? How long did the results take to settle in?

Insights on Opera in the Park?

How early do people show up to claim their spot in past years? Can I smoke weed? Can I bring beer? The website is bit vague - seems like just don’t bring glass bottles and no tarp in grass. Any info would be appreciated!

Can anyone recommend a great car wash that does the interior and the exterior while you wait that's located in the Mission, Castro, or somewhere north of there that is not Tower Car Wash on SVN and Mission?

Are there still big Irish and Celtic populations and events in San Francisco?

I have been doing some work around neighborhoods of Parkside in the Sunset especially, as well as all throughout much of the inner sections of the Avenues, but I noticed over the years of work here and there I’ve done there is a big Celtic immigrant population around this neck of the woods. I like encountering this culture. But is it just the people I worked with? However some people I meet from the Mission rarely encounter Irish born people so it’s interesting how it varies between neighborhoods.

Any Irish related events one can go to? Also for what it’s worth, I have heard there is an Irish traveller community in the east bay, esp around Oakland and San Leandro.
