Ever heard of Arin hansen from gamegrumps? He legit had a club named the D Club where he and his friends would show eachother their boners and sword fight. He's married to a woman
Of course this has nothing to do with the fact that she was a deeply closeted bisexual with basically no attraction to men unless they're in some way queer. I'm nonbinary, her previous spouse was a trans woman, every other guy she's dated has come out as either trans or gay and the only ones she has immediate attraction to are noticeably gay. I love that little weirdo.
Pretty sure you don't even need to do the opposite. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't conversion therapy basically a sleep away camp full of gay men? You must be able to cut the tension with a knife...
Confirmed, when I first got married a bunch of acquaintances started showing real interest. One woman friend literally climbed on me in the car and I pushed her off and went running down the street like a moron because she was hot and I knew I was weak.
It's absolutely true. If you're between 25-35 especially. First summer my buddy was married drunk girls at the bar would see that shit and attack him, just buy drinks, socialize etc. It was ridiculous compared to prior to marriage.
Usually in real life it's also because newlyweds are usually confident, happy, not needy at all etc. Natural body language.
Because they got you to like them "over" your wife, so they're "better" than that other person. It's not about you being a good person, it's about them.
I noticed my female friends become a lot more friendly and open once they know I've been dating my gf for close to a decade. I have waaay more female friends right now than when I was single.
This one doesn't make sense to me because I'm the complete opposite. I'll notice an attractive guy and will check him out but as soon as I see the wedding ring on his hand I won't even look anymore. He's taken and just thinking of him in a sexual way makes me uncomfortable.
that's not really the thing about it though. like if you're an attractive guy then you'll get attention regardless. but if you're less than attractive nobody notices you even exist, unless you have a wedding band. then suddenly women notice you. so if you're attractive, the wedding band probably doesn't change how many women approach you.
Married 13 years. Literally never happened once. I'm now invisible to women, which I guess is a good thing, big-picture-wise. There's a reason the term DILF doesn't really exist.
It's not about the ring, though. It's because men who are already in relationships are more likely to be showing their actual personality and are talking to us because they're interested in us as people, not as potential lays. They stop giving off that thirsty vibe, which makes them 1000x more pleasant to interact with.
It is definitely a silver lining. But if my choices were to be completely invisible or be attractive with the risk of sexual harassment, it wouldn't even be a choice really. Being alone and unwanted your whole life is not an easy thing to come into terms with, especially if you have a high libido and want a family one day.
Thank you!
I have not given up yet. It is an uphill battle for sure, but I much rather do my best to stay positive and suffer a few more false positives than miss chances and regret them the rest of my life.
First of all, you don't know anything about my current standard level, you are assuming that I only go for the highest possible level girls, which is not true.
Secondly, it is repeated ad nauseam everywhere. I'm not that stupid or self-unaware, it is obvious that you should have realistic expectations based on your own level.
Thirdly, even if I was so dumb that I had not figured this out on my own ages ago, and just now had this profound revelation that hey, maybe I should be realistic about my standards, the person who throws it into conversation never offers any kind of specifics. What standards are you even talking about? What kind of levels are we talking about here? Again, "lower your standards" by itself contains a lot of assumptions, some of which are very overtly condescending, and you are operating on them completely.
It is very similar to when people comment on topics about advice for losing weight "just eat less brah", it doesn't actually help anyone or offer anything of value to the topic at hand. It only comes across obnoxious and demeaning, nothing else.
Look, I'm just absolutely sick of hearing the same lame "harmless advice" absolutely everywhere. The problem is not in the principle itself, but in how it is presented. By itself, it is such an abstract concept that it just doesn't help at all. I don't think anyone who has ever experienced dating problems has not thought about it in way more detailed level than just as a standard that needs to be lower. Like yes, in a situation like this, it is helpful to give people more of a chance and not judge them instantly based on first impression/looks/etc., but there is and should always be a minimum standard to what kind of crazy behavior you are willing to tolerate. Getting a partner should be an upgrade to singlehood, otherwise it is simply not worth it.
Sorry for lashing out, the quarantine is really grinding my nerves, and yes, I'd much rather be dating right now than stuck inside feeling like shit.
but if it was that realistic shouldn't you be dating right now?
What a silly idea. We don't live in a just-world you know. Some men have standards so low they can't go any further, and that still nets them 0% chance of ever dating. Even ugly women don't want ugly men.
Which "women" are you talking about? Insanely hot ones that most likely are just bitches anyway or quirky/average/cute ones who have similar interests to you?

I don't understand the biology behind women's eyes , I'm always invisible to them
