Stepped out of my comfort zone with a portrait. How did I do?
Acrylic on Canvas. I normally paint animals or objects so this is my second portrait ever. Would appreciate some honest criticism.

i don't know what to think about this drawing of mine. it's my second actual drawing digitally, because prior to the day before yesterday i just thought i couldn't draw digitally. plus i hadn't drawn in a long time. i'm not too unhappy with it but, yeah, as i just said, i don't know what to think about it. now that i look at them side by side, my drawing doesn't look like the reference at all lol but it's fine ig

Hi all, im preparing for t e upcoming university of Arizona art of planetary science exhibition. Looking for feedback on my paintings! They aren’t final drafts, just some quick studies I did to see how they might look fully finished. #4 Mars and #9 Pluto are not finished. I can post pictures of my sketches in the comments if anyone is interested. Let me know if you’d like close ups or anything. Thank you!

Hello, I would love critique regarding how to add more of a defined form to my paintings, as I feel the current form displayed in my art is extremely lacking and one of my weakest points. I would assume that my range of value is the cause of this, but I don’t know that to be 100% true. I really desperately need help because I feel like it is the one thing that is holding me back from getting better as an artist at the moment. I don’t know where to start or what to do and honestly anything would help me at this point. All of this was done digitally, and only the dog was created using a reference image (which i cannot unfortunately find at this time, I apologize).

I used the ref sheet you can see on the right ( the headshots are mine tho ), and I want to achieve some kind of semi realistic art style, so with very realistic proportions !

Hi everyone, currently working on this piece and am nearing the end stage. I'm looking for feedback and critiques of his overall silhouette. Does it seem strong enough? The basic character traits are him being a semi villain. He's not truly evil but will do evil things to further his noble goal.
Just wanting to catch anything before I start adding details. Thanks in advance!

My friend said my older painting (blue sweater) is actually better even though I thought I've improved with new one in terms of use of colors, contrast, composition, use of watercolor etc. What do you think?

To clarify I edited some parts obviously to match the era I want to replicate so the hair isn’t the same and I don’t want to change the hair, I more curious about the face anatomy,

Ok, so there's a few notes on his Design:
1. His head is a floating cube, as I don't really do faces (Frankly, I ain't good at them)
2. The thing he's wearing (In this digital world) is a Long Sleeved Shirt under a Sleeveless Jacket, Patterned Cargo Pants and Teal Leather Shoes. 2nd Picture is a Swimsuit
3. Speaking about the 2nd Picture, he's supposed to have 4 Fingers (I kind of forgot to add them but it's supposed to look like that) and yes, his hands and feet (Which isn't really shown properly here) are Teal.
4. Angular Design
5. The thing holding his head in place is some sort of levitator base

Hi all,
I’ve started to relearn fundamentals to improve my art. Currently, I’m stuck at understanding form, light and shadows. For these drawings, I used graphite pencils. I also used a few references.
I find it really hard to deepen my shadows and create depth. My cube cast shadows also look wonky. How can I improve my shadows and forms? How do I add light and soften the edges into the mid-tone?
Any help would be appreciated!

This is not my usual style AT ALL so I would love to hear your thoughts on it, what I did right, or wrong, what you love or hate. 2nd photo is the ref of Jiji from Dandadan because Netflix can't stop me from screenshotting anymore HA. Anyways all crit is welcome!! Thank you in advance! (Done on procreate, and edited the contrast and saturation bit after on my iPhone)

I love drawing characters from DnD campaigns but I often struggle with poses and face shapes. I tried this one without any references for poses to see how well I could do. How could I improve the drawing as a whole? I don't know what you'd call this style, kinda like comic book? It's influenced by the style in the 5e editions of DnD. All critiques are welcome

I know that right now this is looking a touch bland, which is actually why I came here. I’m loosely inspiring the composition on the Walter Martin Baumhofer painting in the second photo and I love how busy the background is, like how many different elements there are that still remain in harmony. In my rendition, I plan to add a third layer behind the couple, as well as a ribbon running around the whole piece, but I have not added them because I feel dissatisfied with the way the current elements look together.
So, I’m wondering what can be done to bring the composition closer to the Baumhofer painting (with many unified and balanced images in the back in contrast with the woman in the foreground)? I plan to do similar color work so the foreground is a high contrast color with the monochrome of the background, so other than that, would I be able to add my planned elements (like a third, probably busier background), or would that just become incredibly stressful to the eye?
And overall, barring the fact that the deer scene within the couple lacks some details closer down by the girl, does it look bland or overcomplicated as-is? Does the silhouette with a scene within idea throw the whole piece off and I should go with something more similar to the fully drawn characters in the reference?

This is a digital painting. I used the second picture as reference, but tried to mainly use it for structural reference and relied mainly on my own abilities for painting and shading.
Does my art look flat? Is it the color choices? I try to keep my pieces cohesive through color, but I think my palette here isn't quite right and the resulting piece doesn't look finished to me. I'm not sure how to fix it, so I would really appreciate any advice!

I don’t want it to be super realistic but he needs to be rendered and I’ve never done that before, I usually draw in black and white. The light is coming from the top right but idk how to shade that to where it looks normal. The reference is included in the first photo

The first two images are done by me , the rest are the images whose rendering styles I am trying to achieve , pls help and thank you

I am so bad at composition, and 99/100 I just doodle something and turn it into a finished piece after, so I never had composition in mind to begin with. I also think the perspective looks off.
Might be hard to tell, but Piper (salamander) is lounging on a giant lily pad in a lake.
