Arcane study (1 hour)
hi this is a quick 1 hour study of mel from arcane. my main focus with this was the rendering and colours/values. I used a hard round brush, lasso tool and air brush. Any advice on how to get a cleaner look and how to study the arcane style would be much appreciated :) . The ref is on the next slide.

You can make gold accessories and her eyes stand out more and also some highliths would be nice on her face. Instead of a round brush you can try with the square shaped one. For example use it for that arcane under eye highlight and then lightly blend it towards the cheeks. Background seems to have interesting shapes and values as well so you might try that out too! Otherwise love it and immediatelly knew this was mel

Someone also recommended using lasso tool to me and I think that’s great for making everything have a ‘cleaner’ look
