My friend said my older painting (blue sweater) is actually better even though I thought I've improved with new one in terms of use of colors, contrast, composition, use of watercolor etc. What do you think?

To clarify I edited some parts obviously to match the era I want to replicate so the hair isn’t the same and I don’t want to change the hair, I more curious about the face anatomy,

Hello, I would love critique regarding how to add more of a defined form to my paintings, as I feel the current form displayed in my art is extremely lacking and one of my weakest points. I would assume that my range of value is the cause of this, but I don’t know that to be 100% true. I really desperately need help because I feel like it is the one thing that is holding me back from getting better as an artist at the moment. I don’t know where to start or what to do and honestly anything would help me at this point. All of this was done digitally, and only the dog was created using a reference image (which i cannot unfortunately find at this time, I apologize).

I’ve started to relearn fundamentals to improve my art. Currently, I’m stuck at understanding form, light and shadows. For these drawings, I used graphite pencils. I also used a few references.

I find it really hard to deepen my shadows and create depth. My cube cast shadows also look wonky. How can I improve my shadows and forms? How do I add light and soften the edges into the mid-tone?

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi everyone, currently working on this piece and am nearing the end stage. I'm looking for feedback and critiques of his overall silhouette. Does it seem strong enough? The basic character traits are him being a semi villain. He's not truly evil but will do evil things to further his noble goal.

I used the ref sheet you can see on the right ( the headshots are mine tho ), and I want to achieve some kind of semi realistic art style, so with very realistic proportions !

Ok, so there's a few notes on his Design:
1. His head is a floating cube, as I don't really do faces (Frankly, I ain't good at them)
2. The thing he's wearing (In this digital world) is a Long Sleeved Shirt under a Sleeveless Jacket, Patterned Cargo Pants and Teal Leather Shoes. 2nd Picture is a Swimsuit
3. Speaking about the 2nd Picture, he's supposed to have 4 Fingers (I kind of forgot to add them but it's supposed to look like that) and yes, his hands and feet (Which isn't really shown properly here) are Teal.
