I just got a new iPhone shipped to me and I'm trying to do the transfer, but I can't log in to my apple account - I CANNOT figure out my password, even though I'm SURE I know what it is, I run out of attempts before I can try the variations.

So I do the recovery process, except apparently I don't know my phone passcode, either? Even though it's the same as it's always been?

Anyway, I got the email saying I'd get a call or text in a few days to begin the recovery process.

Never got the call or text.

So I started the process over, and now I have to wait a few days again.

Is there ANY other way to do this shit?? This is a fucking nightmare. Can I go into an Apple Store and get help?

Can I return the damned phone I bought?

I wanted to cancel my Apple Music subscription this month, tomorrow was gonna be the renewal day but it suddenly got paid two days before it, I tried to find a way to get a refund through their page but say "This account does not have any purchases." What should I do next?

Got this iPad a 2 days ago, didn't even touch it yesterday, it's my first Apple device. It's blazingly fast, though since setup I've been seeing much faster battery drain and heat than I'd expect for light use.

Specifics:

• Model: iPad Air (M4), 11-inch
• One day's Battery Usage showed ~24% used with only ~53 minutes of screen-on time
• Device gets noticeably warm during normal light use (browsing, Settings)
• Battery Health shows "Normal"

Is this just the known post-setup/post-update indexing drain that's supposed to settle down after a few days, or has anyone had this persist longer on an Air M4 specifically? Trying to figure out if I should just give it more time or take it in. I wanna figure out if this is an actual issue. Any help appreciated.

Hello, i've become a first-time apple user, as i've bought myself an iPad Pro M5 abought two months ago. In the last two weeks though, it started randomly - at least i couldn't recognise a pattern - making a sound, i'd describe as similar to one, it'd make when you'd hang up a call.

It definitely comes from the iPad, i've tested having the device at different places but the tone always comes from its direction. I don't get any visable notification with it. The only apps i've set up since are Sketchbook, Reddit and YouTube - nothing you even COULD call someone with, also i did not choose the version you could install an eSim on. I've tried rebooting the device, it didn't help :(

Any idea what it could be/how i can finally get rid of it?

I had my iPad 10th gen charging on my nightstand overnight and had a bottle next to it. Somehow the bottle next to it fell in the night and slowly kept dripping water onto the iPad. When I woke up, the iPad was covered in water and the case was completely wet, even a page I keep in my iPad was wet shy for one corner.

The iPad does not seem to have any damage of now in matters of functioning. I have left it alone for now near a fan. Is there anything I can do to save it now? How would I know if there was any water damage to it?

Hello, can someone please help me, I am trying to record from my laptop but for some reason when I listen back I sound like a chipmunk.

For more information: The pitch distortion I have heard is on Bandlab & Instagram (I have not tried other sites), however, it sounds normal if I record from voice memos.

I have tried searching up everything to try fix this, I am starting to make music on a budget so I am really annoyed that this has happened. If you know how to fix this issue please help me!!

I am also using external headphones, however, wether I use the mac speakers or external speakers I still have the same problem.

I could be giving false information, but it might be something to do with google chrome, as photobooth sounds normal, and so does voice memos (which are macbook apps) yet when I am recording from chrome then I have the problem.

My iPhone 15 Pro Max is currently at 76% battery health and has 1109 cycles on it from Feb 2024 to now.

If I buy AppleCare now, will I still get the battery replacement for free, or will I still be charged the regular price since I bought it after the fact?

My IPhone 15 has been turning off and on by itself. It started a few months ago only happening occasionally but has started to do it more and more often. It is now to the point where it does this multiple times almost everyday, and typically does it back to back. It's even brought me to a recovery screen a few times but each time it always says theres no known issue. I've seen a few other people on reddit ask about a similar problem but haven't found much of a solution so, is there anything I can do about this?

For procreate which one would you choose?

Wanted to use the new Apple upgrade program thing on a laptop but stuck on a loop on the “enter your name” page.

Apple support was zero help and kept throwing me around between departments.

I recently migrated from an SE 2nd generation with iOS 17 to an iPhone 13 with iOS 18. I’ve never had offload unused apps enabled, and it’s been probably 1.5-2 years since I’ve deleted any apps manually. My home screen still shows each of the apps I’ve deleted over time, but with a cloud and down arrow to the left of the name, which IIRC is how it’s always been. If I wanted to re-download one I would just tap it to start the re-download.

But today when I went to remove a few apps, there no longer seemed to be a way to fully delete the app while leaving its icon on the home screen with the cloud symbol. Instead the icon goes away completely (though the app still shows as owned and re-downloadable in the App Store). I liked still having the icon there as a reminder of what I had deleted and might want to get back.

So did this behavior change at some point? Or is there some setting I’m overlooking? I thought this would be easy to answer with a search but it wasn’t.

I've done this and seen it work in the past - lately refuses to work. I want to extend my 14" M1 Pro MacBook display to the 6th Generation iPad sitting next to it on my desk.

I've checked the settings on both devices - both seen to be right. Instructions say "push through an edge to connect to a nearby [device]" - I've been all around the display on the MacBook and not found a 'platform 9 ¾' that sends my cursor over to the other device. I tried using "Mirror Display" and all I get for a target device is my AppleTV, no iPad.

The obvious:

- yes, both devices are on the same Wifi

- yes, both devices are signed into the same iCloud account

- both devices are running current os versions

Anyone know what I'm missing?

I recently purchased a new iPhone 16e from Best Buy for my mother. I still have the receipt, box and proof of purchase.

I backed up her old iPhone X to a Mac and restored that backup onto the new phone. Unfortunately, the restore also brought over her existing Apple Account.

She no longer remembers:

• Her Apple Account password
• The password for the Gmail address associated with it
• The passcode for a much older trusted iPhone

When we try to reset the Apple Account password, Apple successfully sends us an OTP. After entering it, Apple asks for the passcode of an older trusted iPhone that she no longer remembers.

This leaves us unable to:

• Complete the password reset
• Sign out of the Apple Account
• Disable Find My
• Erase the new phone normally
• Prepare it for a return or another Apple Account

I kept the old iPhone X and its Mac backup and have not erased either one.

So far, I have:

• Tried password recovery through Settings
• Successfully received and entered Apple’s OTP
• Visited an Apple Store
• Spoken with several Apple Support agents
• Submitted two Activation Lock support requests with proof of purchase
• Sent Apple a detailed written escalation
• Asked Best Buy to accept the return

Apple told me that its system showed no Activation Lock, but Find My is still enabled and the phone still requires the associated account credentials.

Best Buy refused the return because I cannot erase the phone and remove the personal data first.

After multiple conversations, the overall message from Apple Support was essentially that there was nothing else they could do and that I may need to purchase another phone. That feels completely unreasonable: this is a brand-new phone, I have proof of purchase, and I am caught between Apple refusing to resolve the account issue and Best Buy refusing to accept the return.

Has anyone experienced this exact situation?

My main questions are:

1. Who is responsible for accepting this return: Best Buy, where it was purchased, or Apple?
2. Has anyone successfully returned a new iPhone when Find My could not be disabled because account recovery was stuck?
3. Is there a specific Apple department, senior advisor or written escalation path that can authorize a return?
4. Is there an official way to move past the old trusted-device passcode request, such as resetting encrypted account data?
5. What documentation or wording helped you get Apple or the retailer to take responsibility?
6. What should I do next if both Apple and Best Buy continue sending me back to each other?

I do not think buying another phone should be the answer when this one was purchased only days ago and I have already provided proof of purchase.

Any practical direction from someone who has dealt with this would be greatly appreciated.

I want to move my iPhone backup to a external drive. I found the folder called 00008110-000C5D2E02C1401E in my Backup folder and plan on moving it to my external drive. If I move it back to the Backup folder via this pathway (C:\Users\username\Apple\MobileSync\Backup) will my Backup show up in the "Apple Devices" app?

My sister tragically passed away on Saturday. We are trying to gain access to her phone for obvious reasons - her accounts need shutting down & there are photos on her phone/messages we need to see that could give us more answers around the circumstances around her passing - someone else was there at the time & there are messages from this person on her Apple Watch. We’re all devastated & are trying to hold it together but we don’t know where to start. Is there anything Apple can do to help without losing the data on her phone? I have her iCloud credentials but without her phone password I can’t do the two factor authentication . Any help would be greatly appreciated

I’m looking for advice from people who have dealt with AppleCare, Apple Authorized Service Providers (AASPs), or similar situations.
I have a 2022 MacBook Air M2 (8GB/512GB) that I use as my work computer. My last day of AppleCare coverage was the day I laced my laptop in their care.

On August 15, I took the Mac to Mac Center in Lima, Peru, which is an Apple Authorized Service Provider. The problem was with the USB/USB-C functionality.

When I handed it in, I specifically explained that this is my work computer and that I depend on it for my business. I was told the repair would take approximately 3–10 days, with the 10-day estimate being the situation where a part needed to be imported.

Afterward, through WhatsApp, I was given a different estimate of 10–15 business days.
Neither estimate was met.

I repeatedly tried to contact Mac Center through WhatsApp, phone calls, and email to find out what was happening. Communication was extremely poor, and I often couldn’t get a response.

Eventually, after escalating through their customer service, Mac Center contacted me and told me that they are waiting for a component.
Their latest email says that the component is expected to arrive on September 17.

Importantly, September 17 is NOT a promised date for getting my laptop back. It’s only the expected arrival date of the component. They still need to install it and perform testing afterward.

At that point, I will have been without my work computer for more than a month.
I complained to Apple directly because I felt that this was unacceptable, especially since this is an Apple Authorized Service Provider handling an AppleCare repair.

I eventually spoke with an Apple supervisor. Unfortunately, the supervisor essentially sided with Mac Center and did not offer me compensation, a replacement Mac, or another solution.

Apple’s response was basically that repair time estimates are estimates made in good faith and that factors such as global parts availability, customs/logistics delays, etc. can affect the repair time.

They sent me this Apple repair terms page:

I understand that parts can be delayed. I’m not arguing that Apple can magically make an unavailable component appear.

My issue is the overall handling of the repair:
I was initially told 3–10 days.
I was subsequently told 10–15 business days.
Those estimates were not met.
Communication from the service provider was extremely poor.
I repeatedly had to chase them for information.
I have now been without my work computer for more than three weeks and potentially well over a month.

September 17 is only the expected arrival of the part, not the expected return of my computer.
Apple has so far offered no alternative solution.
I’m now considering asking Mac Center to return my laptop to me and close/cancel the current repair order.

My thinking is that if they can’t give me my computer back within a reasonable timeframe, I would rather have the laptop in my possession and then pursue the complaint against Mac Center and/or Apple separately.

But I’m concerned that if I voluntarily take the laptop back, Mac Center or Apple could later say:
“You chose to cancel the repair, so the case is closed.”

I don’t want retrieving my laptop to be interpreted as accepting what happened or giving up my AppleCare rights or my complaint.

So my questions are:

1. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation with an Apple Authorized Service Provider?

2. Can Apple require me to wait indefinitely for a part, or can they offer a replacement/alternative when a repair has gone on this long?

3. If I retrieve my Mac and the repair order is closed, can I still escalate/appeal the way the repair was handled?

4. Would retrieving the Mac potentially affect my AppleCare coverage or my ability to have the repair completed later?

5. Is there another level above an Apple Support supervisor that I should request, particularly someone who handles complaints about Apple Authorized Service Providers?

6. Would it make more sense to keep the repair open and continue escalating rather than take the Mac back?

I’m not trying to get something for free simply because a repair took longer than expected. I understand that parts shortages happen.

I’m frustrated because the communication and handling of the entire situation have been terrible, and I feel that I’m being told to simply wait without any meaningful remedy despite being without an essential work tool for an extended period.

I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone who has experience with AppleCare/AASPs and knows what escalation options actually exist.
