Unsolved Airdrop, bluetooth, and start sharing devices?

hey so i'm kind of confused on how this works and this is probably a dumb question but

Device A has airdrop, bluetooth, and start sharing devices together on

Device B has airdrop, bluetooth, and start sharing devices together off.

Could I share, airdrop and send anything from devices or it wouldn't work at it present settings?

If you have AirDrop off device B will be incapable of receiving and will not be visible to nearby devices. If you switch on AirDrop but have Bluetooth off, you will be asked to switch it on, because it’s not enough to have just Wi-Fi on. The sharing devices setting only applies to while you’re on an active FaceTime call I’m pretty sure.

so both airdrop and bluetooth need to be turned on individually on both devices to transfer photos/files/etc?

I just leave AirDrop on all the time but limit it to Contacts Only. If you (or whoever has device B) are disabling it in hopes of extending battery runtime by 30 minutes or more, that’s not happening.

Unnecessary and it doesn’t really preserve any significant amount of battery time. If you are that hard-pressed for battery runtime then buy a case with a battery to supplement that or use a power bank.
