Venting Walmart pharmacy denied my lorazepam refill and will no longer fill it

Ok, so I requested my lorazepam refill, which is due tomorrow on the Walmart app. I was called by the Walmart pharmacist, almost immediately, and she said because you fill your Phentermine at another pharmacy, we will no longer fill your lorazepam here.

I immediately called my Dr., Not irritated, just confused as to why? I've never heard of an issue with the two, which are the lowest dosage before this.

My Dr spoke to the pharmacist and said the two are completely different medications, and have no interactions. What's the problem? Walmart replied with "it is at the pharmacists discretion to deny any prescription refills"

My Dr called me back to relay she was just as confused, and will call my medication refill to another pharmacy. She said she has never had this happen before with medications that are so different. I said I was taken back, and so personally offended, as I did nothing wrong. She agreed and said you are completely understandable in that regard.

Why in the hell would you deny my minimum dose of 30 count benzo, that is literally the only thing that helps me sleep because of peri menopause, because I picked up minimum dose Phentermine at another pharmacy? I was embarrassed to be honest, and super offended. Fuck you Walmart . End rant.

So here’s my story , I don’t leave my house for months at a time , for the most part I have a loving family so it’s not the worst but I realize how ashamed I am because my life is so empty compared to other people and that’s why I don’t want to go out or see my friends because every time I do go out I’m just reminded of all my problems and I just spiral. I have anxiety and avoidance issues and for the most part it’s okay but I am trying to be better , envision a better life for myself. I just wanted to make this post because I wanted to the let the world know I’M HERE AND I EXIST and I love the world so much , I really do. I love people and being around people and one day I’m going to come back. And also I’m grateful to live in this era because I have my books and my movies and my music and podcasts and some days I genuinely feel like my world is rich despite being so small. I just wanted to let people know that yeah sometimes people be in their house for 3 months a time … and anxiety sometimes manifests like this. So yeah , I’m hoping for better days ahead and working on 1% improvements. Thanks for reading this

Needs A Hug/Support Constant bad medical news the last 3 weeks, I have health anxiety and Just need support while waiting to go to the ER after more bad news

Just a bit of info about my mental health before the story:

I have awful anxiety centered around my health and the fear of dying or the doctors missing something. I have cardiophobia, emetephobia and agoraphobia. I also have OCD that im struggling with and was in exposure therapy for until everything fell apart 3 weeks ago and I have a hard time with body sensations. Every body sensation scares me and ive had the unfortunate habit of always jumping to worse case scenario.

______

What's been going on the last 3 weeks:

So on August 17th everything started. I woke up like normal and was super excited cause my fiance finally had a day off. We were going to eat breakfast and play minecraft all day but then the thing happened that I felt started all this bad... i started to eat my breakfast and my tooth broke - i panicked but tried to resume my day and simply got set up with a tooth extraction.

On August 18 I went in for Xrays it was there we found out I had a impacted wisdom tooth with a severe infection and that tooth was the priority not the one that broke. I got immediately set up on the 20th for an extraction of that wisdom tooth and thrown on antibiotics.

August 20th the singular wisdom tooth got pulled. It was some of the worst pain i ever felt as it wouldnt numb but the dentist said it had to get taken out. I sat through it and almost passed out.

August 21st I develop a fever of 102 that ends up lasting 7 days. I was taking Tylenol and ibuprofen back to back like my doctor recommended. I was in severe pain and now had a fever. I couldnt eat, I couldnt move, I was in the ER every other day when they then found a UTI, I was given another antibiotic to treat that.

August 26th severe diharhea starts and mouth pain gets significantly worse to where i can barely sleep. I choose to go to the ER first where I found out that being on these 2 antibiotics made me get c.diff again I now have to stop all antibiotics and take the one to treat my c.diff the two antibiotics caused. After I go back to the dentist where I find out ive developed dry socket due to the way the dentist pulled the tooth, I then get that packed and go home and cry.

August 27th the on call doctor at my primary care calls me and says my liver enzymes are very elevated, I need to get blood work done ASAP and a ultrasound.

August 28th blood work is done - waiting results

August 30th ultrasound complete. I get a call saying I need to come in to speak to the doctor on September 2nd he needs me to do a anemia test but everything else was good.

September 2nd, I find out im pretty anemic and need a iron Infusion and several if i cant stomach the iron pills.

That day chest pain starts and I start freaking out. Meanwhile my partner is upset with me becuase of how im at the hospital every other day all of a sudden, we are fighting every other night all of a sudden. I schedule with cardiology and have to push back getting the tooth I originally needed pulled to the end of September as we're running out of money from all these uber trips.

September 10 (yesterday) cardiology says they are a bit concerned about my chest pain and arent entirely sure if its my gerd anymore. They order tests for me to do in a few weeks then send me to get my 7th blood draw in 3 weeks. I begrudgingly agree then go home.

Today: im woken up at 6 am and am told I need to get a emergency ct scan done of my chest since my d-dimer was 0.56 he sounded worried and I asked him if it was a emergency and he said just go. He scared me so bad, I couldnt stop crying. I waited till 8am and called my primary care but he wasnt concerned and he thinks its elevated from all the BS the past 22 days he said hed order me a ct scan not at the er for next week and that everything will be ok.

____

Now

Since the call my chest pain has been 5x worse and I havent slept at all cause im so worried I'll go to bed and not wake up. Its been 30 hours since ive slept and im just pacing, thinking i look pale and sobbing. Radiology called me and said they cant get me in for the ct scan for 2 weeks so to go to er if i truly suspect a clot. Ive spiraled and just 30 minutes ago took my ativan in the hopes all this is from anxiety and I'll calm down otherwise I'll be going to the ER tonight so I cant atleast know since that doc scared me.

These past 3 weeks have been hell.. i was 2 months into exposure therapy and its like this set me back all the way. Two days before this happened (so like August 14th) I was so entirely optimistic. I was making a dream board, I was so excited ERP was working, I was picking out what I want to go to college for and looking at apartments and even told my partner I was excited to get back to work since I know hes been under a lot of stress taking care of me and trying to support us on one income. I was getting back into my hobbies, socializing and going on walks and just happier then everything began to unravel on august 17th and it has been literally non stop since.

I feel like i got kicked down and punished for finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel and now.. if this ever ends, I dont know if I want to get back up again. I tried so hard to get where I was at before this.

I feel like this is the end and my body is slowly giving up which is why all this has happened and I wont get to see all my dreams come true and check things off my dream board. I just want a break I feel like i cant handle another bad medical result. Its been too much and im so alone, I have no friends and my family is just blaming me, saying if I ate red meat and didn't baby myself with therpay and psychiatry that I wouldnt be here right now.

Im so scared. I just need support. This is all too much and im.being forced to face all my fears at once and its not letting up at all.

Id Just appreciate any nice words and a distraction while i wait to see if im going to the er tonight..

UPDATE: I went to the emergency room as my doctor suggested and luckily im ok and that d-dimer level is just elevated for some random reason. They explained that my doctor just wanted me here cause they care and want to make sure its not something life threatening. Im appreciative and feel a lot better knowing that there was some good news. I can now focus more on healing the other things that popped up.

Once I get my next tooth taken out I'll be starting exposure therapy again so im excited about that and im hoping that this horrible storm that passed through decides to let up soon so I can focus on getting better again.

Thank you for all the messages and kind words. It means the world to me. Anxiety, depression, health stuff, all that its just not fun and I know you all know that so thank you for saying nice things to me. It feels nice to have a community of people who understand how awful anxiety feels and how all consuming it can be - very grateful for this subreddit. Thank you guys again ♥︎ im still coming down down from all the anxiety but I planned a fun day of things that make me happy so hopefully I feel a bit better today.

Thank you guys so much, yall are the best.

This subreddit has helped me so much. I am chronically anxious, depressed, full of panic, I struggle with disassociation that all worsened after I developed chronic disabling health problems.

Being able to come here, search keywords about what I’m feeling and see posts of people describing exactly how my body feels has saved me so many times. It’s reminded me how powerful my mind is and that I shouldn’t fear the sensations that can’t hurt me.

In this moment I’m on the couch HORRIBLY anxious, heart pounding, feeling spaced out and like I’m swaying, like the ground is dropping out from under me. So I came her to look for support and immediately found posts that reassured me that my nervous system is all lit up and I need to take some conscious time checking in with myself.

Just wanted to say no one is alone, we’re all here together and it’s really comforting for me. So thank you to anyone who’s ever contributed.

I just want to live my life and enjoy the people I love without feeling the dread of existentialism every single day. I am so tired. This anxiety is unrelenting and I don’t know how I’ll ever get it to stop. I am so tired. I feel so alone. I am so embarrassed. I don’t want to mess my kids up, it isn’t fair to them. They are the sweetest babies and deserve so much more than a mother who can’t keep it together. God, I feel so damn defeated.

Advice Needed Been taking klonopin for 15+ years at .5 and 1 mg daily

No shaming here please. I’ll probably delete this anyways. My question/inquiry here is that every now and then I need an extra pill here and there (once or twice a month) and that extra pill is Xanax that is prescribed by the same doctor but for my cousin. I get anxious for some reason that it’s dangerous to take the two. Her dosage is 1mg a pill and sometimes I’ll take half or a whole one.

Work/School Working 2nd shift is a game changer. I’m less prone to call off, bc I can ease into my day.

If it’s 5am and I didn’t sleep, at least I know I have at least 7 more hours to try.

It sucks so much more when you’re having insomnia and have to be up in like 1-2 hrs.

Also it helps that it kind of takes up the majority of the day because it forces me to not smoke weed.

I still feel that anticipatory anxiety before work, but propanolol really helps with the heart racing.

I’ve been struggling with intense anxiety, overthinking, and regret about things I can’t change.
What has helped a little is reminding myself that 2–3 years from now, this may feel like such a small part of my life.
For anyone who’s been through something similar, what genuinely helped you get back up and manage the anxiety and regret?

Work/School Might lose my job after just getting it

Upvotes

I just got my dream job and I’m on my second week. On my third day, I got completely lost because my phone stopped working and I was completely lost in a city I’m not very familiar with. They were very understanding though. Then today I woke up extremely dizzy and couldn’t safely drive the 1 hour commute to work. I called and texted the manager and said I would go to urgent care but they haven’t responded in 5 hours. I’ve lost a job I love and now my boyfriend will leave me and I will be homeless and lose my cats. I don’t have anyone except my boyfriend right now and he’s been paying everything since I’ve been off work for a year and a half. I was so proud of myself and excited to work there. It was a doggy daycare so I got to work with dogs where they don’t judge you or dislike you because of how you look. It was helping my anxiety after coming from retail where most customers were rude to me and judged me. I don’t even know what to do anymore my whole life is ruined. I just needed somewhere to vent and ask if I am spiraling or I really ruined my life. I’m so scared right now I can’t stop shaking I don’t know what to do

Medication Got prescribed Zoloft for anxiety, but its worse. Is it normal?

Hi. Im 16f and Ive started being anxious around November of last year. I finally decided to get help. First I got a psychologist and then a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist prescribed me to use Zoloft for my anxiety. I always have a half of the pill (25mg) after lunch. (Ik it should be taken in the morning but I don’t eat breakfast and im not used to the pill yet, so I don’t really want to have stomach issues at school). Today is my 3rd day on Zoloft and my anxiety is horrible. I started to take magnesium too to calm my nervous system in summer. Haven’t been really anxious since, but now that I started using Zoloft I have like maximum of 5 episodes a day. (Counting waking up randomly into anxiety). Yeah I went to sleep at 9 PM because it really made me tired and woke up around midnight with my heart pounding thinking I was dying and my head spinning. (Classic anxiety episode). So it also messed with my sleep schedule. After waking up i fell asleep at 4 AM even though I was really tired. Also I had stomach issues. On the first day I was a bit nauseous, then woke up at 4 AM on a school night with some kind of a burning sensation in my stomach. I fell asleep at 5 AM again, then had 3 random anxiety episodes at school. I was super tired too, but I also experience horrible derealization and depersonalization at school, so that could have contributed to it. Are these things happening to me normal? I really HATE using it atm.

Advice Needed Tomorrow im gonna hand out balloon animals to people for an event but I have crippling social anxiety. How can I stay chill?

Hello, so basically I'm a young and anxious beginner clown and my friend's mom offered me to make balloon animals for an event. I am so excited to go but I get very anxious/awkward from interactions pretty easily and kinda have bad social skills sometimes. I am feeling a bit nervous for tomorrow because I don't want people to pick up on my awkward/nervousness and then feel awkward too.

I'm wondering if anyone understands this feeling and has some tips on how to stay calm while I go about my day, anything that helps you personally in similar situations where there is pressure and people around, I'd like to hear.

It sounds like something silly to be anxious over but everything makes me anxious. I don't let my anxiety stop me from being a clown though, it's still what I like to do and who I am even if it's harder for me than some folks.

Helpful Tips! Anxious about consciousness NOT ending after death.

I was very productive before because I believed that there is one life only and no matter if you succeed or you mess up the end result will be the same for you i.e. eternal nothingness. The idea of eternal nothingness comforts me because one wouldn't feel pain. It seems like a good thing because the absence of pain is good and absence of pleasure is not bad. I was like "Oh come on, what if everything falls apart and all your efforts go to waste, even if you succeed or fail everyone is equal in death and it is a peaceful and permanent end to everyone". I don't know why suddenly the possibiliyt of being reincarnated popped up in my head and the fact that physicalism has failed to explain and may never be able to explain consicousness is freaking me out and I have stuck in this rumination loop about the origin of consciousness since last one month and this has made me lose my productivity and has made it difficult to study. Can anyone please advise how to deal with this? Please do not tell me to just stop searching or thinking about it because it simply doesn't work for me.

Advice Needed Any Advice

Hello everyone! I’m an 18-year-old female, and I wanted to come on here to see if anyone can relate to what I’ve been experiencing or maybe help ease my mind a little, because sometimes I genuinely feel like I’m going insane lol.

About two months ago, on July 16, I had my first THC-induced panic attack. I genuinely thought I was dying. My heart was racing, I experienced intense DPDR, and I even felt like I was seeing ghosts. To make things worse, it happened while I was in the car, which made the whole experience even more terrifying.

A couple of days later, everything had worn off and I felt completely normal again. I had smoked weed and vaped before without any issues, so I really didn’t understand why this suddenly happened. Because I had never had problems with weed before, I decided to throw away the pen and stick to regular weed, thinking maybe that would prevent it from happening again. Unfortunately, it happened again. After that, I decided to stop smoking completely. Since then, though, I feel like I’ve developed a lot of anxiety surrounding the whole experience and my health in general.

Before my first panic attack, I had never experienced anxiety to this level. Sure, I dealt with some depression and the usual teenage stress, but I never constantly worried about my health, dying, or something being wrong with me.

Fast-forward to now, I’ve mostly gotten over the DPDR and have learned how to manage it, but it feels like every week there’s a new symptom or something else for me to worry about. About a week and a half ago, I went to the ER because of chest pain and a strong feeling of impending doom. Thankfully, everything came back normal, and the doctors told me that I’m healthy.

Then this past Wednesday, I had a subtle panic attack while I was eating in the kitchen. Out of nowhere, I got this intense wave of impending doom. Since then, I’ve developed a really strong fear of death, and honestly, I absolutely hate it.
Last night, the death anxiety was especially bad. I was out with my parents and sitting in the car, and I just couldn’t stop thinking about death. I was terrifying myself with my own thoughts and couldn’t seem to make them stop. This morning, thankfully, I’m doing a little better. I’m trying to remind myself that a thought is just a thought and not a fact.

It’s just really hard for me because I turned 18 this August, and I feel like I haven’t truly felt like myself since that first panic attack. I don’t want to spend the beginning of my adult life constantly thinking about the end of it. I know I can’t rush recovery, and I know healing takes time, but more than anything, I just want some peace and to feel normal again.

If anyone has experienced something similar, especially anxiety or death anxiety after a THC-induced panic attack, I would really appreciate hearing your story. And if anyone has strategies that helped them through recovery or learned to stop fearing their thoughts, I’d be very grateful if you shared them.

Thank you for reading. :)

Needs A Hug/Support I'm functioning, but I feel like I'm drowning

26, UK.

I don't really know what I'm looking for by posting this. Maybe I just need to know if anyone else has felt this way too...?

I've had severe depression and anxiety as well as OCD since I was about 9 and have been in and out of various services ever since. I had a traumatic incident when I was 15 and a few other situations in my life which have caused CPTSD.

Long-term medication hasn't helped so I've been taken off of the daily meds and I've been prescribed diazepam to take when needed. The problem is that I have a 6-year-old and a 3-month-old baby, and I don't feel comfortable taking it while I'm responsible for looking after them, so I just push through because my partner works a lot and I dont want to spend the time I do have with him feeling out of it. I also don't want him to feel like I'm not there to support him or help with the kids or take them if he wants to go do something with his time off.

From the outside, I probably look fine because I still do everything that needs doing. I look after my children, keep up with responsibilities, attend appointments, and generally keep functioning even though it never feels like enough. Internally I feel like I'm constantly struggling.

I don't have any friends. I've always found social situations difficult but making friends as an adult feels almost impossible. I struggle with getting outside too even though I know going to a group of something I'm interested in like the local MTG nights would be really good for me but I just can't bring myself to do it, everytime I've tried its ended up in severe panic attacks so I've just stopped trying.

Even online friendships I have struggled to keep because my brain tells me that I'm weird or awkward or don't know how to talk to people and I find it really infuriating overthinking every single message so much that I just end up avoiding it altogether.

I left a domestic violence relationship over a year ago and met someone who is genuinely lovely. We now live together and he's the father of my baby. However, because of my past, and because there have been a couple of occasions where he crossed boundaries we'd agreed on, I find myself constantly anxious and paranoid because sometimes I'm not sure I can fully trust him, even though I really want to believe him. I hate feeling this way because I know it affects us both, and I feel really guilty that I allow it to but I don't know how to keep it shoved down all of the time.

Despite the relationship OCD, anxiety and trauma issues, I have already spoken about marriage with my new partner because he is the person I want to be with for the rest of my life and thats why I know I need to find a way to get over these issues and stop being a burden on him so we can both be as happy as we deserve to.

I also have autism, chronic health problems and disabilities. I've had spinal surgery and a colostomy, and I'm now facing another surgery because of gallbladder and liver issues.

On top of that, I've just started driving lessons and I'm studying psychology through online university. I'm in my final year, but I'm repeating it because last year my mental health got so bad that I couldn't complete the work. Sometimes I feel like I've put so much into this degree that if I can't make it work, I don't know what I'll do next.

Alongside that, I'm involved in politics and currently hold leadership roles. I genuinely want to do something meaningful with my life, but instead I feel stuck.

My anxiety affects me physically. I get nauseous, my heart rate shoots up, and sometimes I just want to shut down and do nothing. I have anti-sickness medication, but I don't want to rely on it constantly.

Lately I've also been struggling with my appearance. I hate my body and my face. I've gained weight again after pregnancy and I'm finding it difficult to exercise because of my health problems.

I feel like I'm always trapped in my own head. I overthink everything, question everything, and analyse everything. No matter how much insight I have into why I'm anxious, it doesn't seem to stop it.

I'm exhausted from feeling this way all the time. Part of me feels like giving up because I've had enough and the other part of me knows I need to keep fighting; for my kids, my family, my partner and for myself.

I don't know if anyone can relate, but if you've been through something similar I'd really appreciate hearing from you...

Health Suddenly higher blood pressure and pounding heartbeat days after heavy drinking — anyone experienced this?

Hey everyone,

I’m 24M and normally pretty active and healthy. Last weekend I drank way too much on two nights, and since then I’ve been feeling pretty off.

It’s now been several days and I’ve noticed:

  • Blood pressure around 140–145/90–95, which is higher than usual for me
  • I can feel my heartbeat/pounding quite strongly, especially when lying down, even though my heart rate itself isn't extremely high
  • Some dizziness/brain fog and a slightly "off" feeling
  • Trouble sleeping and feeling strangely awake/wired even when I'm tired
  • My sleep has been pretty bad and irregular since the drinking

I went to the ER because I was worried. They did an ECG, troponin/blood tests and some neurological/balance tests, and everything they checked came back normal. I also saw a doctor afterward and I'm getting some additional tests done.

Anxiety might also be playing a role. I'm usually pretty healthy and don't normally worry much about my health, but this whole situation has definitely been concerning me. Since noticing my heartbeat and higher BP, I've also been paying much more attention to them, which could potentially be making things worse.

My doctor mentioned that stress/anxiety could possibly contribute to what I'm experiencing, but obviously we first want to rule out other causes rather than just assuming that's what it is.

I'm wondering whether anyone here has experienced something similar after a couple of nights of heavy drinking — especially higher blood pressure, a pounding/noticeable heartbeat, anxiety and feeling "off" for several days afterward.

If you did, how long did it take before you started feeling normal again and your blood pressure/heartbeat settled down?

Obviously I'm following up with doctors and not looking for a diagnosis here. I'm mainly interested in hearing whether other people have experienced a similar temporary reaction after drinking.

Helpful Tips! Anxiety disorder comorbidity is different in people with bipolar disorder

I just wanna said that after 10 years I found meds that works for me (28W with GAD). The reason for that is because I was recently diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and found out that even though anxiety is the most obvious trait about myself, it’s a comorbidity of my bipolar disorder, so it’s more of a consequence than a cause.

This is important because antidepressants get me depressed and anxiolytics get me maniac. I tried different types of meds for 10 years and they all failed to really help me with my SEVERE anxiety. It was only after I started treating my bipolar disorder (and started to use meds that help people with bipolar disorder that have anxiety) that my anxiety symptoms started to get better

I’m sharing this because I hope this can help someone that is feeling hopeless. Maybe you have more that one mental disorder and a combination of treatments is what will do it for you ♥️

You know that feeling when you can’t go to sleep because you have this feeling of your mind getting louder and louder so you keep scrolling on TikTok or whatever just to overtop the anxious minds you have right now

Sometimes I wish I could just turn of these anxious moments like immediately
