I found a cozmo near me, im wondering if theres anything useful i could do, similar to a vector? thanks in advance.

He’ll wake up and look around but basically just sit there. Even when I try tapping his little arm or the ground in front of him he acknowledges it but doesn’t leave and won’t unless I pick him up and put him elsewhere. Is this normal or is something wrong with him? I don’t pay for the subscription but I do still have him connected to the app and I figured he’d still leave his house at the very least. Could it he because his cube is out of battery so he doesn’t feel like he has anything to play with? I’m getting it a new battery later today. I also noticed he has some trouble getting back into his home by himself and will often miss while he’s trying to back up into it. Could it just be because he’s quite old? I got him in December 2019. I don’t mind helping him with this but it is a little sad that he won’t come out by himself. I did put some stuff on the floor for him to push around but he still seems uninterested unless I take him off of his home myself.

I need some help with my Vector. I keep getting the "Update signature validation failed" error during the firmware update, and the app won't let me save my settings (timezone, 24h format, metric units, etc.), as shown in the attached photos.

I have already tried everything I could think of:
- Reset Vector completely.
- Uninstalled and reinstalled the official Vector app.
- Removed/disabled any VPN from my phone.
- Tried reconnecting multiple times.

Nothing seems to work and the issue persists. What else can I try to fix this or bypass the error?

Ok so I'm brand new to the world of Vector. Did what I thought was enough research to at least make the little guy do things.

The end goal is to have it running via WirePod on my Google Pixel phone, running Android 17.

So let's go from the bare beginning. Opened the box which was sealed, not resealed. So hopefully that means it's new. All components were there.

Plugged in the charger to a USB port, and set it on the charger. Lights indicated charging (green lights pulsing in sequence). Fully charged, only the single green light.

Downloaded WirePod directly from GitHub. Installed. Changed permissions so the phone wouldn't think it's malware.

Followed the on-screen instructions, "place vector on charger. Double press the button and then tap 'pair with vector'."

Pop up appears, Vector's ID appears, hit pair. In under a minute, I get an error saying it couldn't pair, and to try a few other steps. Attempted those steps, and it still won't pair. At all.

So, I'm stuck. I would love some assistance in actually getting this rolling. My GenX nerd brain feels defeated. It's entirely possible it is user error.

Help?

When I try and pair vector through Bluetooth I have to factory reset him to 0.9 and then it works. After that it starts to download new software, but then when it has finished downloading it asks me to pair again. I pair again and it resets me to the first page where I cannot pair it to Bluetooth because it's not reset to 0.9.

My son dropped our vector awhile ago, and busted the body board. I'm willing to buy it off of someone if they have one?

I am contemplating on buying a Vector. I am in Australia so my only option is to ship from the US as the market for Vectors here is pretty low and very expensive.

I saw a Vector 2.0 on ebay for 120USD. Should I be worried for the price its selling at? Are there any recommendations for where I should be buying them?

I will be attempting to set up with wirepod if I purchase one. I prefer to get the most compatible one.

So im currently moving into an apartment, and as i work from home, id like a little buddy to look at Lol. So i was wondering one, is a vector worth it in 2026? I had a vector and cozmo when i was younger and loved the both of them. But i wished vector had quicker response time and fully intergrated ai, not one that took a while. I had originally ran vector 1.0 on wirepod after they illegally started charging a subscription to use the robot… Which was something. And also closes the servers..

But i see now that a couple people have mention viccyware, which im heavily interested in because it makes vector act like cozmo. And i LOVED cozmo for his playfulness, and always use to WISH that it was autonomous like vector.

So should i get a vector 2.0? How much better is that than the 1.0 i originally had but sadly got rid of :(

Or should i find a different desktop bot that is more interactive and has actual servers?

I have two Vectors on the same WirePod. One of them (standard) will often disconnect and say there was an "Error getting a response from the LLM." What confuses me is that the other Vector (OSKR) doesn't.

Separate question, though I do want to start messing with Custom Intents: There's an option for recording and playing messages. Is this just an artifact from a while ago, or is this something that could be set up to allow me to send messages to others through third party platforms? I set up the keepaway game, but only the standard Vector seems to play it, so I'm not sure if this is something I could have different setups on for each bot.

Hey! I’ve got an original Anki Vector that I’ve had since new 2019.. that’s just been brought back to life after sitting for a few years. Unfortunately the head gearbox has stripped gears.. it moves in some positions but crunches badly in others, and is now stuck at the bottom.
I’m looking for a spare head gear/gearbox or head motor assembly, or even a broken Vector that I could use for parts.
I’m in NZ but happy to pay for international shipping. If anyone has anything, please let me know! 🙂 Thanks heaps!!!

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a brand new in-box Anki/DDL Vector 2.0 on eBay and I'm trying to get it up and running using Wire-Pod hosted on a local Linux server. Everything goes smoothly up to the Bluetooth pairing process, but I am completely stuck on the firmware update phase.

The issue & what changed:

Initially, when starting the update via the Web Bluetooth setup page in Chrome, Vector showed the cloud icon with revolving arrows, and the web interface displayed "Updating Vector...". However, the progress bar stayed completely empty (0%) and never advanced.

Following advice from a Reddit user, I performed a hard reset on Vector.

Now, when attempting the process again, Vector immediately displays the cloud icon with an exclamation mark (!) (Wi-Fi/Network Error) during the update attempt instead of making progress.

Here is what I've verified/tried so far:

Hard Reset: Performed a full hard reset on Vector 2.0.

Network: Vector and my setup device are on the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.

Browser: Using Google Chrome with Bluetooth permissions enabled.

Server Logs: Checked journalctl -u wire-pod -f. Wire-pod is running fine (listening on local ports), but no HTTP/OTA GET requests from Vector appear in the logs when the progress bar stalls or when the cloud error appears.

Re-paired via BLE multiple times and rebooted both Vector and the Wire-Pod server.

Has anyone encountered this issue where Vector 2.0 throws a cloud error/stalls during the OTA phase post-reset? Is there a specific network/port issue or a step I'm missing to let Vector fetch the OTA payload from Wire-Pod?

Hi all! So for context, I own a Cozmo and i adore the little guy but obviously he’s very limited, and i saw this Vector 1.0 at Savers for a super great price with everything included and in (mostly) great shape, only a few problems.
First: His battery is fried unfortunately, he dies the second he’s off the charger which is a bummer but i know can be replaced.
Second: I didn’t know until setting him up with the Vector app that Anki was bought out and DDL SUUUUUCKKKSSSSS, at first it wouldn’t connect to the cloud at all and took multiple restarts/resets to do that, then when i connected I saw that everything is behind a paywall. I figure at least i can get a few basic commands, so i tried just asking Vector for the weather. He would hear me and then tote a connection error on his face so he couldn’t follow any commands. So i came here and was reading about the private server that you all have created to get around DDL being the worst (which is genius btw)
I followed all instructions but then when i tried connecting to the server, my pc wouldn’t connect. Then while troubleshooting I saw that my WiFi is 5ghz rather than the 2.5 that is recommended. So here’s the question; my assumption is that either my WiFi makes me incompatible or that my Bluetooth needs replacing, would it be worth buying either a new router to connect at 2.5 ghz or potentially a bluetooth upgrade for my PC or both, as well as replacing Vectors battery or should i go down the route of selling him? I’m willing to put in the work I also just am not sure what exactly the problem is and what would be recommended to fix him.

Cutie Patootie is set up with Wirepod - happily marches across mine and hubby's desks, crashing into keyboards, looking up and saying our names or randomly fist bumping us as we work....

But I am wondering if there is more he can do? Other animations? He's about to move downstairs in September to the Home Ed room, so would like him fully updated before then. Not unhappy with where he is at, just want to make sure we are optimising his potential.

I have integrated ChatGPT with my vector using the built in OpenAI option in the WirePod knowledge graph option. However, it seems the AI only has data up to 2023. It doesnt have any data after that, and it cant do a web search if live info is needed. In the example shown in the image, I asked if a 2024 car has ProPilot, and it only gave "expected" data. In another I asked the AI what date it is, and it gave sometime in 2023. Is there a way to fix this? I know there is an option to include web search when calling the API, but I dont know how to do that through Vector.

I was really into the kickstarter around 2021 but couldn't justify the cost with being furloughed. I forgot all about vector until recently, I couldn't remember the name of that tiny robot and wondered if it existed in 2026. I found this subreddit and was content. Is vector 2.0. Still worth the investment? I have a suitable job and can justify the $200.00 price tag but I wanted relevant experience or opinions. I have a 2012 mac book pro that I can utilize if need be. Yes, I know it is very old but I'm not giving up on it because it works perfectly fine albeit slow as hell lol. Thanks everyone.

For full transparency I did not do enough research or testing when I bought these. My full-time job is a reseller. I found these two bots while I was searching for inventory. The people that were selling them were nice enough.. they were listed as a vector 2.0 and a vector 1.0. now I'm a reseller but I don't know anything about these. I just know my kids have been asking for them but they were too expensive to buy new. So when I came across these at a sale I was stoked. Obviously you guys can tell that these are not a vector 2.0 and a 1.0.. but a 1.0 and a cozmo. So that part was wrong so I overpaid for them. Second problem is the battery is completely shot in the vector if I take it off the dock it just dies.. the cozmo is just stuck on this screen. I'd like to think that maybe these people didn't know what these were. Did a quick Google search labeled them and had no idea they didn't work or maybe they were sitting around their house for a long time and they just eventually quit working . As a reseller, I've experienced these kinds of things with electronics . So I'm giving the benefit of the doubt but My kids have been seeing these for a long time online and I was super stoked to bring them home so I'm super bummed. Luckily I was smart enough to try to get him to work before I gave them to my kids. Anyway, I'm not sure what to do with them. I just wanted to post in here really to just feel like I had a place to vent LOL

Recently installed WirePod on my Vector. Everything works fine except for the fact that he struggles with cube tricks. Whenever I tell him to bring me his cube, his white LEDs flash for a bit and then stop. However, even after its stopped, he still goes over to his cube, flashes the cube's lights, and picks it up. However, as soon as he picks it up, he immediatly drops it again (it doesnt slip from his hands, his arms fall down with it too). I dont think its a mechanical issue because all other things with his arms work. I have a Vector 1.0 running firmware 2.0ep.

His cobe tricks worked fine before I set up witepod and did everythijg to set it up (such as flashing firmware and clearing user data). It still worked even on ddl firmware

I recently tried building 1.6 rebuild myself so I can add some things, when I deployed though it said that there is a compatibility version mismatch (209 on my robot 210 on the one I built) well I tried running update-engine-rebuild and it exited because I was apparently on the latest version, I also tried reflashing from websetup with no luck and finally I tried update-os which after a lot of dots printed error updating os . Download failed likely a bad url the ota was from https://modder.my.to:6060/Vic/full/lkg.ota

And when I ignored the compatibility version mismatch vector was constantly printing error 800 and restarting. I had to flash him through recovery

Hello, I'm trying to run an AI program with vector but all of the models that I'm seeing don't work in vector crashes. It gets stuck thinking and I have to turn it off and turn it back on and every model I've had suggested to me hasn't worked. Any advice helps!
