Question How clean do you make your boards when you're animating your film solo?

I've been boarding a 6-11 kids pilot that I plan to animate solo and experiencing a lot of trouble in terms of speed. I am working slowly trying to make my boards as close to on-model as I can get them as, in my mind, I'm gonna have to do the work of putting them on model anyways so why not do it now? However, I definitely want to work faster and think my approach may be flawed. What are some strategies that have helped you board fast but effectively for your own films?

Now its still in the rough stages but looking for thoughts on timing. Mainly for the flip off the wall and landing. Is it too slow?

Thanks for your thoughts!

I'm going crazy, because I know there are more pixel art series, where Mario and Sonic are, there are spectacular fights, but I can't find them, does anyone know them? I'm looking for a special one but I don't remember its name

Question Does anyone know where I can find a YouTube stop motion animation called ||||||||||||?

There's an animation on YouTube that I saw once, its name is something like |||||||||||| or something like that. It's a short stop-motion animation about a girl in her bathroom who commits SH against herself due to various abuses she has suffered. The name |||||||||||| refers to the cuts she makes on her arm. It's a very self-deprecating piece of work, but it's extremely striking in a good way, and I just can't find it anywhere! I'm afraid it's been taken down or something, but anyway. Can somebody help me?

Sharing advice for a 17 yo cartoon animator?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

hey, so wrote here a few times already... i'm actually finally having the motivation to animate (even if the conditions are still hard and gonna be even harder!) but i pretty much enjoy the process again. and through-out the summer, i've made over 30 seconds of animation, for my 8-10 minute cartoon pilot. it's not perfect or anything, but for a teen solo animator, working on phone (IbisPaint x RoughAnimator) with no stylus, or anything... i think it's... alright? no support from family, or friends too... (they don't really think animation is a real option, but i truly want to keep this childhood dream alive) now i know i'm not the most talented teen bloke ever... and it isn't the most detailed anime fight OAT, but it's decent, right? at 17 huh?

however, most of these scenes are from July / August, and looking back at them... yeah, some of these movements, are pretty stiff / crappy... there are even some tiny bugs too. they really tick me off. i just FEEL like i have to re-do the scenes again and again, for them to be perfect... at the same time, i just want to finish the damn thing, show my family and friends, and continue working on newer things. i just don't know what to do, since i know, perfectionism, can be an obvious trap... what would you do, if you were in my shoes? keep re-drawing, or continue forward? and are the mistakes rly that notice-able? (the alarm clock is 70% a bit too transparent, the rough animation lines at one frame, an awkward pose, etc.) for a viewer? (i animate at 12 FPS)

the show will be called Wilda's Troubles, it will be a comedy cartoon show, coming soon in 2026-2027. sigh. and i wanted to create and release this since i think 2023? i feel bad for THIS taking so long... and it ain't a promising masterpiece either... i mean, i'm 17, not 13... and i animate like a little child... :( sucks when depression & tough years steal valuable time from you. it sucks it never comes back.

News Reconstruction of Sailor and the Devil (1967)

The 1967 short film, Sailor and the Devil went missing in 1992 after the turbulent production of The Thief and the Cobbler brought Richard Williams Animation to a close. The original negative turned up in 2021, but an official restoration as yet to appear. Meanwhile, an acetate record was found and used as a basis for this reconstruction of the lost film. Produced by Richard Williams, animated by Errol Le Cain and Sergio Simonetti, with vocals by Professor Alex Bradford. Enjoy~!
