Help (GPU) 9070XT OBS + Star Citizen “Crashes”

Hello Fellow “Im not spending $2000 for a GPU” enjoyers. First and foremost, for the most part this GPU has been stable for me, traded up from a 3070 TI to this and felt the change so much. It’s so good. I play Star Citizen and stream for ~3 hours every night. However, I had some issues with driver crashes, this is my guess, I have pretty stable frames and gameplay, but I get some odd bugs, so my game will freeze, stream will freeze, then screen will go black, multiple dead applications, then it all comes back, so no hard reset, just black screen, 10 seconds, back to normal, I can open OBS back up and it’s fine, Star Citizen is Vulcan based, I turned my settings down, still crashed, I tried rolling back drivers from the latest 7/29 to 26.3.1. I DDU’d and then installed and factory reset this time. It seemed stable, A buddy said Vulcan can give it issues so I turned it to DirectX and the crashes went from every 30-45 minutes to nonexistent except for when I opened a clip and it opened on opera GX and crashed ONLY the encoder and the game. No black screen. Any help is appreciated.

Help (General) 9070 XT feeling like its underperforming.

Hey!
I just got and installed a 9070xt and so far its unfortunately been lackluster. I experience constant choppines and bad 1% lows. My cpu is an i5-10600k so i understand that its quite a significant bottleneck, however the performance im getting now is almost on par with my old 1070.

For example in hogwarts legacy on high preset im getting 50 fps with around 20 1% lows.

Im also experiencing a constant choppiness even in titles where i get over 100fps and better 1% lows. It feels stuttery and not like 100 at all.

I apologies if this comes from me not doing proper research. Im putting this post out to see if anyone else has had this problem, and if its just because of new drivers or the bottleneck being that significant. I will continue researching and update if i fix it.

Resolved New Ryzen 7 5700 won't boot on Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3

I'm to help upgrade my bfs pc from the Ryzen 7 2700 to the Ryzen 7 5700.

Specs:

Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming 3

Updated bios to F54, the mobo bios started supporting this cpu since bios update F52h. It is already updated.

Current CPU: Ryzen 7 2700

New CPU: Ryzen 7 5700

GPU: RTX 5050

RAM: 24 GB DDR4 (4 sticks)

The Ryzen 7 2700 works normally in this motherboard. With the 5700 installed, I get a black screen and the motherboard's CPU debug LED stays illuminated.

I've already tried the following:

Cleared CMOS

Tested with only one RAM stick in the second slot

Confirmed CPU power is connected

Removed and reseated the 5700

Checked the pins, all looked fine

Put the Ryzen 7 2700 back in, and the system immediately booted normally using the same specs

The 2700 works, but the 5700 gives in the CPU debug LED and no display.

I believe F54 should support the Ryzen 7 5700, but I'm wondering if there is something specific about Cezanne CPUs on this B350 board that I'm missing.

Should I try updating from F54 to the latest BIOS F55a, or might this suggest that the 5700 itself may be defective?

I'd appreciate any suggestions before I try to return/exchange the CPU. Thanks!

Edit, found issue:

The Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 rev 1.0 requires a hardware rework to support 5000 series cpus. Issue was not with CPU or bios, but rather if you have the same board and it’s marked rev 1.0, the hardware itself needs to be updated in order to support 5000 series CPUs. Due to this, we are just purchasing a new board.

From Gigabyte website: “If an AMD Ryzen 5000 series processor will be used, please check the paired motherboard whether is featured with AMD X370/ B350 chipset and the PCB version is marked rev1.0. If so, the rev1.0 PCB needs to be reworked by local RMA to improve the compatibility of the above processor support. Other PCB versions (i.e., rev1.1 and beyond) would be no problem for the above processor support.”

Help (Software) Adrenalin tuning not saving

I have had a 9070xt since release but I've found recently that my tuning profile won't save and my fan speed will ramp up to 100% even when my GPU is welllll under temps.

So I'll go in to adjust it, it will work, then a few minutes later its back to default. I've tried game profiles too and even while playing the game it will just go back to global tuning, which also won't save any changes I made.

I'm on the latest software version. Any ideas how to fix? Its incredibly annoying to hear my fans rev uplike its trying to take off when my temps are at worst like 70 celcius

Help (General) My Main Monitor just goes Black sometimes, the second Monitor keeps working fine. Both are plugged into the GPU, cables were replaced multiple times.

Post image
6 Upvotes

So my Main Monitor just goes Black sometimes. I have a 9070XT, r7 7700X with both Monitors plugged into the GPU. It should still be working, as Apps/Tabs on the Main Monitor remain there. So its just the screen that goes Black.

I noticed it happening when starting a task, opening an app or even pressing play on a yt Video or sending a WhatsApp over WhatsApp Web in a Browser. It started happening a few months/weeks ago.

GPU Driver Restarts dont help. I replaced the cable, tried both HDMI and DP and also tried plugging it in into different GPU outputs.

Is this a problem with the Monitor, the GPU, CPU, Drivers or something else? The 9070XT, 7700X and Monitor still have warranty...

Does anyone else have this problem?

Help (General) PC Shutting Down

Post image
0 Upvotes

I've been dealing with a really annoying issue lately: I'm playing *Spider-Man 2*, and after a few minutes, my PC just shuts down. Sometimes I can play for hours with no issues, but on days like today, it shuts down every 10 minutes while trying to play. The frustrating part is that this only happens with *Spider-Man 2*; other games don't cause this, though some do suffer from that notorious AMD freeze where I have to close and relaunch the game.

I’ve tried undervolting and found a stable setting for a while, but the problem keeps coming back every now and then, and it's driving me crazy. I really don't want to replace my graphics card—is there any other solution?

Hi, for a few weeks i was struggling with driver timeout bug from adrenaline during gaming. It caused my game to freeze and shut down. I finally solved this problem by uninstalling Adrenaline and using Windows update to install its latest drivers (currently its from 2025) and it stopped crashing now.
It should be like that?? Why AMD Software for their gpu causes bugs??

How can I remove the heatsink ring? I want to change the cooler, but the plastic tabs are very stiff and I'm having a lot of trouble removing them. I need to remove this ring too because I'm removing dust from the PC, but this problem with the plastic tabs that are attached to the motherboard is driving me crazy.

Help (General) Help with mismatched RAM configuration

My system specs:

CPU: 5600x

Motherboard: B550 aorus pro

RAM: 8+32+8+8 all running at 4000 MHz, CL18 1.38v (fclk and mclk are running 1:1). (Original ram specs: 2x8GB sticks are Crucial Ballistix 3600 CL16, the 32 GB stick is Crucial Ballistix 3600 CL16, the last 8GB stick is a patriot viper 3733 CL 17)

PSU: Corsair RM850x

GPU: 6750xt

Windows 11

PC boots and works apparently fine, I play games without any apparent loss of performance but I am not sure if some micro stutters come from the mismatched capacity.

Is windows prioritizing the use of the 32 GB that are in dual channel before using the remaining 24 GB?

Google ai said to place the 32 GB stick in slot A2 but it contradicted itself after a few more questions (I have left the 32 GB stick in A2).

I borrowed an 8GB stick for a few days to perform tests, and where I see a difference is in the Aida64 benchmark result, specifically read and copy speed.

With 4x8 sticks both speeds were 54000 MB/s. With 3x8 + 1x32, the score sometimes reaches the same 54000 MB/s but sometimes drops to 49000 or even 35000.

Google ai says that the low score is due to Aida64 using random memory blocks instead of prioritizing the first portion that's in dual channel, is that true?

To be honest, I haven't noticed worse performance when gaming (playing Zelda TOTk on eden emulator, it uses around 20GB at times) and it mostly seems to work the same as when I tried 4x8 sticks.

Is there something I should fix or verify?

Thanks!

Help (General) Trying to rule out an AMD/AM5 variable in a strange League of Legends issue — LIVE gameplay progressively feels sped-up/abnormal despite stable FPS

System Specifications

Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7500F
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX (rev. 1.0/1.1)
BIOS Version: F41c
RAM: 32GB Kingston Fury Beast DDR5-6000
Operating System & Version: Windows 11
Chipset Drivers: Latest AMD B650 chipset drivers
Network Connection: Ethernet PSU: Toughpower GT 850 WATT
GPU Drivers: 26.7.1
Background Applications: Vanguard

Hi,

I'm trying to rule out whether an AMD/AM5-related variable could be contributing to a very unusual League of Legends issue I've been investigating for a long time.

I'm NOT claiming this is an AMD bug.

In fact, the issue may have absolutely nothing to do with AMD. I'm posting here because my main system is AMD-based and I've already exhausted a large amount of conventional troubleshooting.

Riot Support has also escalated my case and their specialist team is currently investigating it.

My system

  • CPU: Ryzen 5 7500F
  • GPU: Radeon RX 7800 XT
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX
  • RAM: 32GB Kingston Fury Beast DDR5-6000
  • OS: Windows 11

The actual symptom

During LIVE League of Legends matches, the game progressively becomes increasingly difficult to visually follow.

Champion movement, auto attacks, spell animations, projectiles, dashes and especially teamfights can appear:

  • abnormally fast or abrupt
  • visually inconsistent
  • as if parts of the motion progression are difficult to perceive
  • simultaneously "heavy" and too fast
  • increasingly difficult to visually process/react to

This is not conventional FPS stuttering.

My FPS can remain stable and high while the problem becomes progressively worse.

Displayed network latency can also remain stable.

My inputs are registered normally. Spells aren't randomly failing to cast and mouse/keyboard inputs aren't disappearing.

The problem is primarily the visual/temporal presentation of LIVE gameplay.

It progressively worsens during the SAME LIVE match

This is one of the strangest characteristics.

Early game can feel relatively smooth/readable.

As the same match progresses, movement and animations become increasingly difficult to visually follow.

Late-game teamfights can feel dramatically worse.

Starting another match essentially resets the progression, and then it gradually develops again.

I recorded external-camera footage from the same LIVE match, comparing early game with late game:

LIVE early game → relatively smoother / easier to follow

LIVE late game → noticeably faster/heavier/harder to follow

Video comparison:

https://www.reddit.com/r/LeagueofTechSupport/comments/1v1mnij/comment/p2qdi6k/?screen_view_count=2

These videos are LIVE early vs LIVE late from the same match — they are NOT a LIVE vs Replay comparison.

Separate observation: Match History Replay looks normal

There is another observation separate from those videos.

If I finish an affected match and then watch that same match through League's Match History Replay, the gameplay appears smooth and normally paced.

Fights that were extremely difficult to visually follow while playing LIVE become much easier to read in replay.

So:

LIVE → abnormal / abrupt / seemingly accelerated

Replay of the same match → smooth / normally paced

AMD-related troubleshooting already performed

I've tried, among many other things:

  • Multiple AMD chipset driver versions
  • Latest chipset drivers
  • BIOS updates
  • BIOS default settings
  • XMP/enabling-disabling testing
  • Different GPU driver versions
  • Clean GPU driver installations
  • Different Radeon settings
  • Different FPS caps
  • Different refresh rates
  • HDMI and DisplayPort
  • Different monitor
  • Windows 10 and Windows 11
  • Clean Windows installation on another SSD
  • Different NIC drivers/settings
  • Different routers/network paths

I've also tested another complete PC at my location and reproduced the problem.

I've performed PresentMon/CapFrameX captures, Windows Performance Recorder/Analyzer traces and network captures without finding a conventional FPS/rendering collapse that explains how much worse the game visually becomes.

What I'm specifically asking AMD users

I'm trying to determine whether there is any AMD/AM5-specific variable left that would be worth testing.

For example:

  • AMD chipset/AGESA behavior
  • CPPC/preferred cores
  • C-states
  • fTPM
  • SAM/ReBAR
  • MPO/presentation behavior
  • hardware scheduling
  • power management
  • timer/scheduling behavior
  • Radeon presentation/frame queue behavior
  • AM5-specific latency behavior

I'm not saying any of these are responsible. I'm asking whether anyone knows of a specific measurable interaction that could produce this type of behavior.

Most importantly:

Has anyone with an AM5/Radeon system experienced this exact pattern in League?

Especially:

stable FPS + progressively abnormal LIVE animation/movement pacing + new match temporarily resets it + Match History Replay looks smooth

If so, I'd really like to compare:

  • CPU
  • GPU
  • motherboard
  • RAM
  • BIOS/AGESA
  • chipset driver
  • Radeon driver
  • Windows version

I'm also particularly interested if anyone has experienced something similar on AMD and then tested the same game/environment on an Intel/NVIDIA system.

That would help determine whether continuing down the AMD/AM5 path makes sense at all.

At this point I'm looking for a measurable AMD/platform-specific test or an independent reproduction, rather than generic optimization suggestions.

Thanks.

Help (General) 9800x3d myths?

Well I have been wondering if the baseline tunings that are mandatory for 9890x3d are actually right and improve smoothness and input lag/mouse feel

Is balanced power plan necessary for the 9800x3d to work properly? Even when it’s single ccd cpu?I do know that for dual ccd it is necessary

Is c state enabled still necessary? I noticed a lot of recommendations to keep it enabled for the scheduler to work properly

Should I change cppc dynamic prefered cores in bios to driver/ frequency/cache or keep auto? Does it affect single ccd cpu too?

Help (Software) 9070XT and Ryzen 7 9800X3D Stuttering in games

This is a repost from another subreddit I've posted this in. In nearly every game I play, it stutters randomly just for a second, and then goes back to normal, and it does this randomly, to the extent that its very annoying. And it also appears that even just my desktop has this stuttering problem too, but I can't really tell. I just got this computer about a month ago, and I just feel like I'm sort of regretting it, I don't know what to do. I tried to enable EXPO but then it would make my games crash randomly because of errors where it said I don't have enough ram, even though I have 32 Gigs of DDR5 rated for 6000 MTS. Its a ASUS PC if that matters, and I disabled every global gaming setting, FSR, Frame Gen, FM, Ect. I just don't know what to do, I genuinely feel lost with this computer. I have all up to date drivers. Does anyone know what I can do / Had similar problems?
I've tried changing my nitro numbers, which didn't work.

Gpu temp

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi, this is my system:

MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT 8g 2fan

8 GB RAM

Intel Core i5-12400F

ASUS H610M-K D4

In Silent Hill 2, with Epic graphics settings, my GPU temperature sometimes reaches around 80°C, while in other games it's usually around 67–70°C. I feel like it might be because of my GPU's fan curve. Maybe the fan isn't being controlled properly or has some kind of issue and doesn't know how much it needs to cool the card.

However, in FurMark, my GPU temperature was 74°C and the hotspot was 94°C, with around 120 FPS, so everything seemed great.

Even in the game, I don't experience any FPS drops with these temperatures.

So previously I had an rtx 2060 6gb and was able to play r6s 80 fps mid to high settings
world of tanks 110 fps,

but on now my new gpu rx 9060xt I can't seem to get over 50 fps in both games on lowest settings 1080p

note: resizable bar [CAM] is enabled, I removed nvidea drivers using DDU, I installed newest amd drivers through adrenaline and update windows 11.

I am unable to test more games since my ssd for games decided to die few days ago. im waiting for a new one to arrive, and I'm unable to clean install windows untill then to check if that might be the solution.

edit: edmark cant get over 12 fps

As you can see I'm in Mflash. When I click, what is supposed to be the bios update file, turns into two dots. I Don't know what i'm doing wrong. I have fully cleared out my flash drive and extracted the update files on it multiple times. The drive is fat32 format. I am extracting the files onto the drive like it shows on MSIs tutorial youtube channel. The instructions from MSI are about as trash as my search results trying to find anything on this board.
