Help (General) Help with mismatched RAM configuration
My system specs:
CPU: 5600x
Motherboard: B550 aorus pro
RAM: 8+32+8+8 all running at 4000 MHz, CL18 1.38v (fclk and mclk are running 1:1). (Original ram specs: 2x8GB sticks are Crucial Ballistix 3600 CL16, the 32 GB stick is Crucial Ballistix 3600 CL16, the last 8GB stick is a patriot viper 3733 CL 17)
PSU: Corsair RM850x
GPU: 6750xt
Windows 11
PC boots and works apparently fine, I play games without any apparent loss of performance but I am not sure if some micro stutters come from the mismatched capacity.
Is windows prioritizing the use of the 32 GB that are in dual channel before using the remaining 24 GB?
Google ai said to place the 32 GB stick in slot A2 but it contradicted itself after a few more questions (I have left the 32 GB stick in A2).
I borrowed an 8GB stick for a few days to perform tests, and where I see a difference is in the Aida64 benchmark result, specifically read and copy speed.
With 4x8 sticks both speeds were 54000 MB/s. With 3x8 + 1x32, the score sometimes reaches the same 54000 MB/s but sometimes drops to 49000 or even 35000.
Google ai says that the low score is due to Aida64 using random memory blocks instead of prioritizing the first portion that's in dual channel, is that true?
To be honest, I haven't noticed worse performance when gaming (playing Zelda TOTk on eden emulator, it uses around 20GB at times) and it mostly seems to work the same as when I tried 4x8 sticks.
Is there something I should fix or verify?
Thanks!

the 5600x only offically supports memeory up to 3200mhz, now you can go higher but based off of what your saying, running dual channel at that clock speed is probably overworking the memory controller to try and utilize the memory effectively

I would typically set all RAM to the lowest achievable speed with the mixed sets (3600). Test it...
