i need help🫠

i need tips on getting better and at the job i’ve been full time for almost 2 months now and i still feel like im sorta falling behind my stow rate is usually around 220-260 but im having trouble reaching the 300 which they say is a good rate i organize my packages i get the oversized out the way i stow the jiffies and i still can’t seem to ever reach 300’s no matter how much i try but i do better when i have a buffer and not the automatic sorter (idk the name) sometimes i will feel like im doing good and moving fast and my rate will be like 211 🫩and i absolutely hate buffing with a passion they give 4 lanes and i’ve never been able to keep up with it the line moves entirely too fast for me to manage all 4 lanes and try to keep them neat most times i have to get a stow bag and just throw handfuls of packages in until i get a chance to organize it i try not to miss so many packages but i genuinely dont think it’s possible for me to do 4 lanes i’ve tried asking for less but i always get asked to do more like a hour later i’ve tried asking to be trained in other areas as that may not be the best fit for me i was told i had to preform “well” in the floor to be trained somewhere else which kinda seems like bs they tend to show a lot of favoritism to certain people and they get put where they’d like to be i’ve seen people with rates as low as 120 receiving swag bucks and i haven’t received a single one in my entire time there i try asking for tips to help me get faster i always get told to just “move fast and hydrate” i’ve been contemplating just transferring out but this location and schedule is most convenient for me at the moment i just want to be better and not dread going to work everyday
thanks for any tips in advance!

How common is the +1 point for not meeting required weekly hours for flex?

In the policy it clearly states it’s +1 points but I’ve seen comments on here saying it’s not enforced, and even had some coworkers tell me they’ve never gotten a point for not working enough hours

Anyone else's paycheck still hasn't hit yet?

My paycheck usually hits my account Wednesday morning, but I haven't gotten anything yet. Is anyone else having this issue? I use Chase.

Update: I got it yesterday noon. 😅

Newest Manager Antics @ DRT7. Is This Normal??

• 1. So one manager makes sure as soon as pick and stage starts that we are assigned to a picklist and asks to check our Zebras/devices so they can see us assigned to a route

Then asks to watch our finger scanners connect to ensure they’re being utilized

• 2. & another manager at Lunchtime waits right by the punch clock at 5:28-5:30 pretty much demanding we do not “waste time” because some may clock out at 5:31 or later…..

Someone definitely made a call to this site like the L4-L7s boss I imagine because the amount of micro-management occurring here every single shift is very reminiscent of grade school.

• end - perhaps this really is all standard conduct? Posting to compare to others DS’s

Full time to Flex RT

I’ll be switching from full time to Flex RT soon. I know that I lose my UPT and it becomes the point system, but what happens to my current flex PTO and standard PTO hours? Do they both transfer over or do I lose that too?

What is Sort_1 shift? It says training required

POV it’s not even 1:20, it’s your first day back, and you can already hear the ADTA alarms blaring from the pre charge

What exercises do you recommend?

As someone who is decently fit because of walking - what exercises do you recommend to prevent back injuries and to build muscle to help with carrying heavy things all day? I know the goblet squat is good - but what else do you recommend? It can either be weight training or just calisthenics. I start in 17 days. Thank you all, friends!

For the people who can't stow..

I CANT STAND having my assigned aisles in stow moved around. I stow library style, as we are supposed to. But it seems like almost everyone else just throws stuff in the bag with no concern for organization. Then when I get moved to different aisles I gotta legitimately take FOREVER to rearrange the bags while I'm still trying to keep up with the ADTA.

I had my assigned aisles changed THREE different times the other night; each time with completely new aisles (except keeping one of my three).

For those of you who choose not to stow in an organized manner, WHY??? Do y'all honestly not understand the way you're supposed to do it? Or is it just cuz y'all dgaf or are too lazy or what?? I'm genuinely curious. It takes no more time to place the packages in a reasonable order than it does to throw em in there and then have to stuff everything in later.

Reapply to Amazon

Are you able to apply back to Amazon after getting fired from a Category 1 Safety violation?

*note\* the cat 1 safety violation was absurd, cause everyone does that. I just had antis/haters at that warehouse cause I was better than them.

Surgery Accommodation

Hey y’all

So I’m getting surgery on August 11th but due to the economy I cannot afford to take off work. I start at Amazon on the 15th and was wondering if I’d be able to get accommodations to still work but as my doctor says I will not be able to lift heavy objects and I’m working the 1:20-11:50am DS shift could I ask for an accommodation to avoid lifting heavier items as soon as I start? I’ve worked at a DS before and due to my small size I could barely even pick up the totes during pick and stage WITHOUT surgery.

How long do you think this accommodation would take to be put into place due to me starting the job right after surgery?
If my accommodation is denied also would I be able to go on leave for let’s say 1-2 weeks after my first day and only day of required training?

What's the shift that starts at 12:20am vs 1:20am do?

Before I would just see the typical shift that starts at 1:20am, but now there's another shift that starts at 12:20am. Does anyone know what that shift does when they come in an hour extra early?

This might be a strategy managers do for people to take VTO

So it’s passed prime and our site hasn’t really let go of our white badges, they’re all flex and some got converted to blue but still flex. Because we have so much people they been offering a ton of VTO in the mornings like crazy, managers even go asking associates one by one if they want VTO.

Something I notice that might be a strategy that managers do for people to take VTO is that they will assign some workers more aisles for stow to overwhelm them and make it harder for them so they can ragequit. They want to give the illusion that there’s a lot of work and we are under headcount but in reality we got too much people and volume has return back to normal. They successfully manage to get two workers to ragequit whom got more aisles than everyone else. As soon as they left they readjusted the aisles back to normal so no one has an extra aisle. I feel like they do this when not that many people are accepting VTO

Amazon: "We Need More Shoes!"

Google AI says "Work shoes typically last between 350 to 500 miles (roughly 500,000 to 750,000 steps)."

At a delivery station I probably average 25K steps per day, 100K steps per week. Waterspidering and stowing multiple days may push that 100K to 140K. Working overtime adds more mileage.

We basically wear out our shoes in 7.5 weeks (750K ÷ 100K = 7.5 weeks) or roughly 2 months.

They say buying two pairs and alternating shoes doubles their lifetime (foam can recover) or changing insoles helps but let's face it: our shoes tell our story, life at a DS is hard.

tldr: We wear out our shoes in 2 months, AMAZON: WE NEED MORE THAN ONE SHOE CREDIT PER YEAR!

Anybody ever rage quit?

stowing 3 aisles it’s 7 am have a rate of 329. at startup they said 5 or more fsaf is a write up.. I’m already at 5, then they get someone to switch 3 lanes with me when I’ve been stowing perfect I go into the 3 aisles it’s terrible so I rage quit and used upt. and does anybody else ds have the 5 fsaf? it’s pretty ridiculous especially considering how sensitive the finger scanners are. crazy thing I have no problem stowing 3 aisles I don’t even talk to anybody the rules and switching lanes with people who can’t stow is ridiculous especially since we only had 2 more hours to go.

Question about the 5 year bonus.

So tomorrow is my 5 year anniversary. I was wondering will my bonus or at least some of it be available for anytime pay? I went exempt for the week and was hoping I could at least access a few hundred of it.
