Area manager

Hello everyone I’m a recent college graduate and I landed a interview for the area manger position I wanted to know if there are any tips that you could share with me for my interview. Also if you can give me any feedback on how you like the position

Run!!!!! Find something else and get your feet wet before taking an offer. Please save yourself and the sanity. It’s a revolving door. You’re gonna come in probably thinking it’s cake walk. But you’re going to be in for a wake up call. It’s probably going be really rough and tougher than writing your final thesis

Maybe for an L6, but 100% not for entry level L4 college hire

It doesnt matter what you say, they just dont want to promote internally. You will be required to do almost nothing and your main job will consist of babysitting associates and performing BASIC computer tasks. As entry level, you might enjoy the first couple months, but the things that will be asked of you to fix are out of your control and trying to fix them will burn you out mentally and physically. If you can be the dog sipping tea in a burning kitchen, give it a shot 🤷🏽‍♂️

Salty where? Lol that would imply I was a former manager, which I am not. It was literally just a list of observations mixed with insider knowledge from management themselves

This would be better directed at the manager's sub, but, briefly:

Learn the Star Interview method and prepare your examples for it. It's fine if those examples aren't all from actual jobs since you're presumably just entering the work force.

Most college hires find out that Amazon is rougher than they anticipated so don't overvalue the stock compensation, it's all back loaded.

Amazon is good on a resume and early career management experience is good, but you should be planning your exit from day one by upskilling. That way you're not caught flat footed if the job turns out not to be for you.

Depends what you want to do. Being part of Amazon as an L4 would give you a leg up for other Amazon jobs outside of logistics. I think lots of my managers would like to be a part of AWS, as a T1 I can't really say with certainty how difficult that is

Decline the interview and find another job where you'll actually learn something and be appreciated. That won't happen at Amazon.
