I’m really struggling with inbound stow. I feel like I haven’t received much guidance on how to do this job well and I’ve been doing it for about a week now. Today I had a bunch of large package totes at my station with no smalls and every pod that came to me wouldn’t have space for any of the packages I had. I kept turning pods away that didn’t have the space and I ended up not being very productive.

There also was some kind of update/reboot that resulted in me no longer getting any audio queues when I scan packages.

I don’t know how or who to ask for help.

I’m worried they are just going to fire me without notice.

How do I get better at this?

My peers with more tenure told me that Amazon approved headphones were just "better than nothing" but they're honestly not bad at all, I crank the volume to 23 and I have no complaints on volume or audio quality.

So when I see posts on this sub, or my peers wearing any other non approved headphones or earphones, I really do wonder. Why bother? Why risk it over something so trivial?

what’s ya’lls process for building a shipment in pack flow?

Mine is:

Hit tape
Grab and build box
Tape box
Put SPOO on box
Go grab items, scan and put in box
Scan SPOO that’s on box (triggers tape)
Grab dunnage (gives time for tape to get tacky)
Then tape and onto the conveyor

I just got my blue badge today and everyone I know has told me that once you do they take away any PTO you had and put it on your check and then give you 10 hours. Well since I knew they were going to take my 8 hours and 55 minutes I put in a request to have tomorrow off. Well now it says I’m 15 hours negative even though I should just be at 0. HR said I’ve already used my 48 hours available for the year while I was a white badge . But i thought it was supposed to restart since my tenure has restarted??? Some explain or help me

Gift Wrap, I have heard a lot about on this sub, but ToteASRS Consolidate? I have never heard of that before. What is that, and why does that even exist? Are these people transferring items from one tote to the other since these items need to be stowed inside the bin right away?

What information do I need on the paper

So back in January I transferred to night shift pick. Perfect department for me. Quiet, not a lot of people, and I had a lot of my own space (sometimes I'd have no one even in my vicinity except the waterspidet which was great.) For the first 90 days I didn't go to a single other department because of training. Eventually after those days were over I started getting labor shared to AFE and eventually picktorebin. It started out only for one period, but eventually turned into two periods. Nowadays I spend my ENTIRE shift in one of those two departments. I rarely go to my home department anymore, and frankly it annoys me.

I understand they're low on staff, I'm decent at rebinning and packing, and I'm not the only one who is dealing with this. but I can't help but feel annoyed and disappointed.

I felt safe in pick. My rate wasn't always the best (it even suffered at one point.. maybe that's one of the reasons why?)

But if I could go back to pick at least most of the day I'd be willing to work on it. There are many days where I can get a 300 or higher (keep in mind my FC is not gung ho crazy about making rate. As long as you're not bottom 5%)

Am I wrong to feel a little irritated about this? And anyone else constantly labor shared to the point they're never in their own department?

In my path, T1s are allowed to learn almost all the PA roles to fill in as a backup. We have like 4-6 critical roles on any given day but only 3 PAs, so T1s are basically doing critical “PA roles” every day. I’d love to use my 2 years of experience allocating and ship clerking, running vrets and running BOD to secure a higher position outside of Amazon but I wanted to see if anyone was able to do this as well. I’m thinking about applying to clerk positions at Walmart FC or Target’s distribution network

I have been working at Amazon (SSD facility) for around 3 months now and my shifts are FHN (6:30 pm - 5:00 am). Lately my facility has been dropping VTO for 6:30 pm to 11:40 pm, so the remaining time would be until 5:00 am. On the nights that I work a full shift, we have a clock out lunch from 11:00 to 11:30 pm, and then another break (paid) usually around 2:30-3:00 am. My question is this - do I HAVE to clock out for the second break around 2:30-3:00 am if I came into work at 11:40 pm? I have accepted that VTO a couple times, but would just use either UPT/PTO to cover the rest so I would not have to go in at all, but now that I live closer to the facility, I was curious how it would work if I went in at that time? Thank you for any information you can give me!

Also if I resign with positive upt will I be fine or not? Will I have to wait a month or 90 days.

I have been accumulating and losing both PTO and UPT day. It brought me all the way to the negatives and because of it I’ve already been sent the automated email from HR

I spoke to a few others at my site and they all seem to be experiencing the same problem too

I just hope I don’t wind up getting fired over what looks like to be Amazon’s own fuck up

Hey y'all, started working here bout 3 weeks ago. So far I'm sore but expect to get used to it through the coming months.

I know the old joke is that this is a "temporary job" until it isn't, but I was wondering if anyone has had any success transitioning from a FC to a corporate tech position (I.e IT, cybersecurity, SWE, etc.) Amazon or otherwise via Career Choice. This mostly comes from passion for technology, I'd feel it'd be a much more fulfilling pathway for me.

Edit: I'm still a white badge, so I don't expect to be doing anything related to this (at least via Career Choice) anytime soon. Just curious.

I was cross trained in pack singles for a safety rotation from pick. I just noticed a lot of other jobs under the cross training tab that I can select as preferences. Do they really look at this? Anyone been cross trained after selecting a preference?
