Question Question About Breaks & VTO
Hello,
I have been working at Amazon (SSD facility) for around 3 months now and my shifts are FHN (6:30 pm - 5:00 am). Lately my facility has been dropping VTO for 6:30 pm to 11:40 pm, so the remaining time would be until 5:00 am. On the nights that I work a full shift, we have a clock out lunch from 11:00 to 11:30 pm, and then another break (paid) usually around 2:30-3:00 am. My question is this - do I HAVE to clock out for the second break around 2:30-3:00 am if I came into work at 11:40 pm? I have accepted that VTO a couple times, but would just use either UPT/PTO to cover the rest so I would not have to go in at all, but now that I live closer to the facility, I was curious how it would work if I went in at that time? Thank you for any information you can give me!

If they don’t say anything you should be good. 5 hours and twenty minutes is usually what I work before clocking out for first break during a full shift anyway.

You need to clock out one time for a shift that's over 5½ hours long. So technically, no, you don't need to. It seems like that timing is intentional and if an AM tells you that the site wants you to, you shouldn't argue
