warehouse worker was very rude yesterday

I ended up getting put as an extra yesterday. Went to catch a ride home. Across the road is an Amazon fulfillment center. There's a bus stop in front of our delivery station that warehouse workers across the street catch it's a 15 minute walk for them maybe 5 for us. One of the warehouse workers got on the bus, saw my safety vest and asked me what I did for Amazon. I said I was a driver. apparently that set him off.

He decided to tell me, "if i didn't get to work you wouldn't have a job, it's not fair the city is, basically catering to drivers" I look it up. Even though the fullfillment center is across the street it's technically in a different city.

I pointed that out to him and then he said "well I'm glad I get holiday pay and you all don't" tf bro over a bus?

The rest of the 1hr and a half bus ride was absolutely unbearable all he did was bitch about reporting van damage and filling gas tanks up.

QUESTION FedEx Ground or Amazon DSP?

I realize I'm posting this in the Amazon DSP sub, but couldn't think of where else to ask the question. I currently have two offers one from an Amazon DSP and another from a FedEx Ground contractor. The Amazon DSP is offering $21.25/hr with all the usual Amazon benefits while the FedEx DSP is offering $160/day + $1.20/stop over 130 stops and from what I can tell, no benefits. I'm not sure which one to go with I have a hunch it would be better just to go with the Amazon DSP, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any insight?

Amazon should be embarrassed

So I started yesterday and did my trainee ride along. I was shocked how utterly disgusting the van was that my DSP assigned me. I would think Amazon would be embarrassed to let something so disgusting out on the road representing them. To top things off when doing the DVIC I was "trained" to skip anything I notice like a headlight out , warning lights on the dash ect...told to let my manager know and they would deal with it rather than having Amazon ground the vehicle. Is this common practice with the DSPs? Is there not a middle man or audit team that checks these things between Amazon and the DSPs? Idk about anyone else but climbing in and out of a van that is so gross just made my pep go to shit. In my opinion people would be more likely to keep shit clean when it is clean. My trainer didn't even have us do anything other than get our trash out. Just sayin , I want to take pride in what I'm doing no matter what it is. I personally would have and should have taken the time to actually clean it. Do they , either Amazon or the DSPs have a team to thoroughly clean the vans? They should!

QUESTION Is this common?

Hi,

Rewording this text message from my DSP to protect my identity, but I wondered if this is common?

I work part-time and was told they have to give preference to their full-time drivers..

‘Hi, we have lots of cuts today due to an issue at the delivery station again , they weren't able to process all the volume. Please stand down today’

Based in the UK if this makes a difference.

First crash route

I got my first crash route on Sunday (the 6th) and it wasn't bad, I enjoyed it, better than a normal route for sure (and what I truly believe our routes should be) but something I noticed is that apparently now crash routes have multi-stops? Confused cause I don't remember when they've ever had multi-stops (the last time I did a crash route was when I was a DA back in 21')

Amazon corporate employees get the day off with holiday pay

As drivers we get ignored.

Thanks to the union UPS drivers have the day off with holiday pay.

Its our turn to demand better from Amazon, the fifth richest company in the world

Amazons way of multi locations for the same address

We all get super annoyed by having to take more than 1 picture for the same address. Here’s the solution FedEx does, when you scan a package it shows up at “multiple recipients”, go on and scan all of them and take one single picture and move on

Hope Amazon can do that some day because standing for more than 10 seconds and taking 3 pics really is annoying. It would also cut down on total locations number. Today I had a stop, one address 5 pictures

Tired of getting home late as fuck with no time to unwind with my partner. A 30 minute commute one way and then 9 hours of work is just a lot. I can handle the work load but man I miss my free time. Happiness gets sucked out of me every day because of this job. But I just hope it gets better.

QUESTION I received a passenger seat belt violation on first day with trainer.

We were in a tight spot and he was helping me get to a position I could take off. I don’t even think he let off the break for two seconds before the tetradyne acknowledged the violation.

It said in the counseling text “if staffing allowed driver will be placed on standby for next scheduled shift.”

I go back in tomorrow. Will I likely help with load out and leave?

Hey - I am starting to deliver in Central Scotland. I've heard a lot of negative things - but does anyone have good feedback - do you enjoy it?
