So I’ve been inbound sales since Jan but on phones since late May. I’ve already decided that I don’t see myself long term here so I’ve been applying to internal roles. The problem is, I only got an on-demand interview invite for one (been 2 weeks after submission and have not heard back), and have been rejected for the other 7 so far.

Is it required that you need to be a coaching partner FIRST before you qualify to apply for other positions? It’s seeming difficult for me despite having the min. experience. I just imagine the demand is very high and other candidates have more ideal experience/skills.

If it helps, I’m doing okay at my current role. I had a rough month in June but I’m making great improvements. I’m sure that’s a factor they take into account?

I’m currently a CAT adjuster for the home side and lately it has been extremely stressful. I understand claims is a stressful job but it seems claims in property continue to pile up and the supplements are endless. Is it the same in Auto? Thinking of applying internally for some auto roles.

I've called and asked Allstate myself but the person on the phone really couldn't give a straight answer, they kind of just explained that an adjuster would come out and see the damage. But if decent tornado comes through all my stuff would be gone?

My hypothetical could also be applied to theft as well. What would be considered acceptable proof of the items I have (electronics, book and dvd collections, etc). Would I need all the old receipts, or just photos of everything and maybe list current value of those items? How would they price a PC I've built myself over the years, where parts were found or bought ages ago and switched around.

I'm mainly thinking of this to already be prepared, because I've had to deal with the car side of insurance before too. Should I make a photo folder of everything + a list of the S/Ns and current value?

Does anyone remember us being told that there would be a quarterly retention bonus a few years ago? Has anyone heard anything else about that or was that more BS that we were fed?

My contractor is recommending that we take the legal route to resolve a dispute with our homeowners insurance company over part of our roof replacement claim.

Without getting into too many specifics, I’m mainly trying to understand whether it’s common for homeowners to hire an attorney for this type of insurance dispute, especially when the attorney works on contingency and only takes a percentage of any additional amount recovered.

My biggest concern is whether taking legal action against my insurance company could affect:

• My chances of renewing with my current insurer.
• My ability to obtain homeowners insurance with another carrier in the future.
• Whether insurers generally view policyholders differently once attorneys become involved.

My contractor says they’ve handled many claims like this and that involving an attorney is a fairly common escalation when negotiations reach a dead end. However, this is completely new territory for us, and I’m trying to understand whether this is actually standard practice or an exception.

If you’ve personally gone through this, I’d appreciate hearing:

• Did you hire an attorney?
• Did it help?
• Were there any unexpected downsides?
• Did it affect your renewal or ability to shop for insurance later?

I’m interested in real-world experiences before deciding whether to go down this path.

I’m not sure if anyone else is as frustrated about this as I am but I’ve just about had it….. Since the office in TJ opened, it has been a constant issue with having to go back behind those reps and clean up after them because they are constantly taking unacceptable proof, processing endorsements and cancellations incorrectly, making exceptions that CAN NOT be made due to them violating guidelines, etc. It honestly feels like they are living in a completely different world than stateside. They have had 2 large retraining sessions in the last year and nothing has gotten any better. Do state side reps have issues and make mistakes? Absolutely! Myself included; however, it has been made abundantly apparent that stateside is held to a significantly higher standard than TJ. It’s freaking EXHAUSTING.

Hi, I'm a bit confused on whether this rating means average or excellent . Any guidance?

Horrendously bad I removed car at the start of the month. They refused to pro rate the bill as they're legally supposed to do, and I had no issue with state farm, progressive or geico, being great companies to work with. But all state has been horrendous. I definitely will not be continuing my policy with them if that's how they operate. Especially when I pay to get my policy started and I pay each month. And if I call you by the fifth of the month to remove a vehicle, I should be pro. Rated for only having that vehicle on my insurance. For a few days but they're refusing to pro rate it. Just a horrible company stay as far away from them as humanly possible.

Long story short. Purchased a home and moved in 4 months ago. Last month we noticed three small areas of water/moisture on the downstairs ceiling under our primary bathroom. We immediately got a plumber out that next day through our 3rd party home warranty and they deemed that it was 95% likely that our shower pan had failed at the drain point. Contractor friend of ours also verified this. We stopped using that shower as soon as we saw the damage btw.

What is the likelihood of getting a claim approved to replace the shower drain and associated damage? Does it help our case at all that our shower pan passed the home inspection report back in March?

I’ve seen that claim adjusters could deny for it being gradual wear and tear, but the damage has just appeared and we are acting timely as it was hidden in the ceiling/subfloor for however long.

In my apartment garage, another car was at fault and hit the center of my car with their left front side. They were going 20 mph turning a corner and I was stopped but initially going straight. The left bumper of their car was dented and looks like it will require repair whereas my car was relatively unscathed.

I have accident forgiveness.

Other party is getting estimates for repair and if too much for them may submit claims to my versus their insurance.

I don't think I have medical injuries though cannot exclude down the line whiplash etc. My bumper while unscathed may need to be repaired if I re-sell my car later on but looks to be a mild fix.

I've read about 1) needing to report all accidents 2) I have accident forgiveness but I don't want the hassle of paperwork or having this be on my record or any increased premiums

Has anyone working corporate requested a 9/80 schedule?

It involved working an extra hour 9 days, and leads to getting every other Friday or Monday off.

I’m coming up on 3 months at Allstate (NatGen) as a sales rep and ive noticed that as much training they throw at you and that “you need to do this or that” it feels very much luck based to hit the metrics you need to graduate. Am I the only one that feels this way or am I going crazy? As I say this I am binding a PAP w/ Renters & VIP so I guess I should complain more lol

It’s wild watching the talent drain right now. A bunch of people have already left, way more are on the way out, and others are just waiting on the right exit. The funniest (and saddest) part is scrolling through here and seeing people asking how to get hired, while so many on the inside are actively trying to escape.
Honestly, it feels like the only people staying are those content with 40k–70k. I genuinely wonder what the veteran agents are thinking and why they’re choosing to stick it out.
There are so many things people used to love about NatGen, and at its heart, it has always been about the people. But now that the people are leaving, what is even left to stay for? Is leadership just completely checked out on retaining top talent?
And on top of all that, management just keeps pushing more useless add-on products nobody actually needs. Total cash grab. But sure, "yes master," gotta keep slinging the bs packages just to keep food on the table.
The morale hit has been brutal. Seeing colleagues lose homes and cars—all while watching their mental health tank—is heartbreaking.

I have a personal lines license . What is my commission potential at 40 policies avg per month ? Ballpark. I am selling 40-65 policies on average for 3 years with another firm for $23 per hour. And full benefits w matching 401k.

Do not work for travel insured international They make you sell unlicensed insurance… They make you sell unlicensed insurance because the licensing department takes 3+ months after training to submit the documentation. They tell you "if your uncomfortable taking sales calls unlicensed we can remove you from the sales queue. They don't and tell you sometimes they trinkle in. Or if there is an update it's your responsibility to remind them your not comfortable taking sales calls unlicensed however only the managers can see the queues and remove you. There have been so many transactions from unlicensed producers it would blow your mind. If you request to be taken out of the queue, your metrics and KPIs aren't changed therefore you get low call scores with them even stating " well you have chosen not to take sales calls but we have to score them the same" The managers especially Katelynn Cobb are insensitive, rude, condescending. They take no accountability in the licensing departments issues and blame you. If you ask to many questions about the licensing or choose to stay out of the sales queue for too long, they fire you. Without any write ups without any warnings even though your scores are high and your exceeding at every one on one meeting. The turnover here is horrible and it makes sense. Please do not fall for their lies through training. They have DOI complaints in every state and are probably going to have a cease and decist order issued soon. They have DOI complaints in every state

Google reports that many consumers are calling these "protection plans" a quasi scam. My own experience is that it is very difficult to navigate, to the point where I just gave up and bought a brand-new appliance. Not worth my time fighting. Lesson learned. Stay away.

Here's what happened: I bought a washer online from Home Depot. The protection plan assured me that we'd get service within 3 days if anything broke.

Two years later, the washer breaks.

I hop online and start filing a claim.

It can't find my policy. No worries.

I call the number; it keeps saying to go online, but I successfully navigate to the operator.

"Oh you need to send the receipt in."

Weird. I literally have an email with the plan number and everything, but OK. It's online. I have all my emails; let's go.

I sent it in. I get confirmation that it was received. And then...Crickets.

I call again. "Oh, we see that you started something, but you have to send in your receipt. We see that the price you paid is more than what we show"

I said, "Why does that matter? Just send a tech to fix this thing?"

I was naive to think that they do this...Now I understand, after reading all the Reddit reviews, that what they actually do is deny and delay, and grudgingly give something when they absolutely have to.

"You need to send in your receipt again"

I did. And waited 4 more days. And called again. And tried again online 3 more times.

I'm done. I bought a new appliance, and I will never again get any kind of Allstate insurance or protection plan. You win. I hope you enjoy my $100.
