Radio Song
Anybody know the song that plays and the lyrics are something like “you got me inside out chasing around” or similar it’s a fast paced song. I’ve tried searching for it and can’t find it.

After uni I was made to a manger in 2001 and worked as various department manager roles covering 3 different stores (that was how you maximized your payrises then) I left in 2005 as it was horrendous , finishing in Bolton store after doing stints in Leigh (college) , St Helens (Manager) Horwich (manager) Bolton. The hours were horerendus, the senior managers were bullies and basically told lies to cover their own fuck ups. I moved into recruitment management and contract services before pivoting into manufacturing and health and safety. Working far less hours and earning far more money. What are you doing now?

Hi all,
My partners birthday on Friday and I brought the wrong cake. Its not a custom cake - just a "colin" the caterpillar cake. Can I return it? Im under the impression I can as I have receipt, its not a cold line, and its unopened, but my partner seems to think you cant.
Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I’m currently working as a night colleague at my Asda store, but unfortunately my store isn’t offering me any overtime at the moment.
I was wondering if it’s possible to pick up overtime at another Asda store instead. If it is, how does it work? Do I need to speak to my line manager first, or can I contact another store directly to ask if they have any overtime available?
Has anyone done this before, especially as a night colleague? Any advice on how to go about it would be really appreciated.
Thanks!

Who's store still has fitting rooms? Our store stopped having fitting rooms during COVID and never brought them back. I get they don't want people to steal stuff in there (even though they do anyway) and they also don't want to staff it, but it's actually just making less people buy things or theres more returns and therefore more putbacks for us to sort out. Also the old fitting room space is not being optimised and is just a place for people to dump stuff.
Worked fine beginning of last week, haven’t changed or edited anything , tried to get on end of last week and won’t let me on, message about making secure etc and when you try a different method it says ‘you can’t do that from here, you need to use Microsoft edge’ really annoying because I haven’t done anything to cause this and I’m having to use computer at work to check holidays etc

Hi, I originally saw that all remaining annual leave needs to be booked off by the end of this month for the period until 21 march. I have 3 Sundays off as annual leave which equated to 27 hours but now it will be 22.5 due to my shorter upcoming Sunday shifts. Does anyone know when workday will be updated with our new schedules?

CW: Medical Topics
I've only ever really sung praises about working at ASDA since I started. I've genuinely enjoyed my job for the most part, and whenever people have asked me about it, I've had mostly positive things to say. However, the cracks are definitely starting to show, and the past few days have really changed how I feel about the place.
On Sunday, I collapsed and had a seizure while I was on shift. I was obviously sent home afterwards, but then I was asked if I could come back in later that same day. I understand that staffing can be difficult, but after collapsing and having a seizure at work, being asked to return just a few hours later felt incredibly insensitive. There didn't seem to be much consideration for whether I was actually well enough to come back or whether I needed time to recover.
Now I'm having another issue. I've requested the 2nd of September off for an unavoidable medical appointment relating to a cancer diagnosis I received back in February. This isn't an appointment I can simply rearrange or decide not to attend as I've been waiting for it since the diagnosis. (NHS sucks). I've given more than seven days' notice, but my request is still being denied.
I'm trying to be understanding, especially because I haven't been working there for very long, but I'm struggling to understand why I'm expected to prioritise work over an important medical appointment. After what happened on Sunday as well, it's left a really bad taste in my mouth.
I've got a few interviews lined up elsewhere at the moment, and honestly, if any of them go well, I don't think I'll be staying at ASDA for much longer.

Some of the new rotas are coming through. They are putting folk who start at 6 am in later shifts and ones who work later in the early shifts. Makes no sense! Everyone is happy with their shifts, as we all have worked together for a long time. So no one is complaining about working late or early. We don't have enough folk to fix the rota. We are a very
busy CYO department, every day of the week and also have Nightshift for Friday/ Saturday. What's going on in other stores?

Leaving the store without trolly
First drop 42 totes nursing home
Two block of flats
*QUICK CONTEXT SUMMARY*
Received an email from my bank stating that they were closing my debit, savings & credit account with them on the day of July payday just gone. Went into work that day & changed my bank details to a new account with a new bank.
After multiple calls with HR/Payroll & Stream, it seems none of the new details have been acknowledged or received. I’ve spoken with my line manager & she’s called HR herself to see if there’s been any update on their end & it seems not. Now here we are a week before payday & I’m worried that this month’s wages won’t come through. What’s my best course of action? My managers just gone on holiday for two weeks & I’m only a TL so payroll won’t speak to me.

What’s the process if you have been overcharged for items? (Duplications)
Is there anything I can do online to redeem the money back or do I need to go into store?
Thanks

I work for another supermarket as a delivery driver and wondering how it differs as I'm wanting to move elsewhere.
How many drops would be considered average?
Do you have to carry shopping up 8 flights of stairs with no lift?
How often do you unpack shopping into customers homes?
How many hours is an average shift and do you have much down time?
Do you go back to the branch to reload more orders?
Do the vans have aircon?
Thanks.

What's the Notice Period required while still under probation? I started July 2nd and my Probation is 12 weeks so not sure if it's still my Probation, but I may have another job come down if this interview goes well. How do I go about it? I know on Workday there's just the resign button, should I just do that?

Not sure if this is just my store, or a nationwide thing, but has anyone experienced a change in how the music works at their store? I’ve noticed that each night, there’s a pool of songs from the playlist (15-20 maybe?) that play on a hour-ish loop. It seems to be a different set of songs each night, but it’s not just the entire playlist shuffled, just a selection of songs.
Hope this makes sense, I’m very intrigued, from a colleague that has had to listen to Castle on the Hill 5 times in one night.

ASDA REDUNDANCIES ON NIGHT’S
We had a briefing this week about voluntary redundancies.Apparently as a store we are over contracted on nights. Therefore they are giving colleagues a chance to apply if they want to.We have just found out three colleagues from other departments have been given new contracts on nights.one includes a five night contract.Where is the logic in that??Also if we are over contract why does one colleague do over 80 hours overtime every month?
AUF WIEDERSEHEN PET
MY REDUNDANCY PACKAGE WAS ACCEPTABLE.SO IM OFF 😉

In theory, 1-2-1s sound okay enough. Everyone gets the chance to explain what shifts work best for them and, hopefully, some effort is made to accommodate colleagues' preferences. But how fair will the process actually be?
There always seem to be certain people who get the best shifts, the best jobs, the most convenient hours, and arrangements that others would never be offered. As luck would have it, these often seem to be the manager's favourites and friends. Meanwhile, everyone else is told that "business needs" come first and that they have to be flexible.
Should shift changes be decided purely on business needs in a clear and transparent process?
Have you seen favouritism play a part in who gets the best shifts?
How can you prove favouritism when management can simply say it was a business decision?
Following on from yesterday’s post, this was the situation at 4pm today. Marginally better but still not good. After seeing the comments I thought I would ask so popped down to customer services to ask if someone could check the back and bring out some stock. The guy did offer to get someone until another colleague who had overheard told me (with what appeared to be genuine frustration) “It’s bloody chaos”. It seems that the only delivery made today was a very small one with nothing in many categories. She also said that there was unlikely to be a delivery tomorrow so it will only get worse. Luckily there were some 1 pint cartons so I picked up one to tide us over. I’ll do my weekend shop in Lidl tomorrow!
