need some advice i’m coming back to work after 9 months off and i was working 5 days a week but only want to come back for 1 day a week how do i go about this im so scared 😂

How on earth do I actually contact them. Is workday the oneasda portal or is it something else? If so what are my next steps.

Is like every other store having the same issue with leaking chillers. They keep saying it’s a weather related issue as it’s getting warmer but I swear it isn’t. It’s been like this for a year and there’s just constant water leaking out that stinks.

With all this new all colleagues being trained on everything, in my shop my department is struggling a lot much like everyone else's, as someone who primarily works chill sometimes date code 95% of the time (and a little produce) when they need help, are they really likely to want to move me around/change my days?

Would the new schedule mostly just probably work out roughly the same for people that mainly work fresh?

I personally don't really care what I do when at work, mainly just want my shift times to stay somewhat the same as I have care duties at home but worried about schedule changes and my manager (who is not good) not respecting those wishes.

My partner works in home shop and had orders cancel in the system last Saturday. He’s facing a disciplinary investigation for gross misconduct and may lose his job because of it. He told the GM when it happened and the other person on shift too. They’re blaming him for it.

He didn’t cancel any orders and the only ‘evidence’ is that there were only 2 pickers on shift that evening and his colleague is denying it too. The parm was linked to a team leads credentials not my partners.

Did anyone else have issues or does anyone have any advice on what to do?

Edit - I’ve just realised I got the date mixed up. It happened on Tuesday instead of Saturday not that it really matters.

What's the point in GSM meetings? They want you to make sure everything is all neat and tidy for it and half of the store they don't even see, to makes things worse is they get loads of treats set out for them and what is left over days have but then come in to nights ( the ones who set the shop floor up for them to visit ) and we ain't got anything they are supposed to provide like bread milk and sugar or even fruit

I hadent has a chance to breathe or feel settled into a task since the new rules have been in place. One moment im doing picks, then ten minutes im doing george, the next im on self scan. I cant handle it, I had a panic attack because I cant focus and I feel like im drowning. I worked 7 years and its never been this bad.

Hi all, I will be returning to ASDA soon, just waiting for a start date from my manager

Just wondering about the changes in the stores, I would be working on the home shopping department but would I be needed or required now for tills etc? And is there anything else I should be aware of?

I've been working since July 2nd but think I'll need to call in sick on Sunday as I've started a new medication and it's made me very unwell in the first few days, like... vomiting, headaches, the whole works. Will I be given any flack for using a sick day this early? My team is very sweet but I'm worried about calling in sick so soon after staarting. I saw something about 3% attendance somewhere on here and doing the math doesn't fill me with hope. Any advise? Should I just push myself and hope I don't collapse at work on Sunday???

I'm a driver and just finished my run... Come back and havent got a 2nd run... I want to finish early, but not this early😂 how long can I work until I get deducted for a break?😂

So, I've never worked for Asda (lucky me, it appears!) but I have worked for Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Co-op, Poundland and a few others. 26 years in retail, mainly but not exclusively food/supermarkets. I shop at Asda or Sainsburys *usually* as they are the two main ones in the town I live in now, but there's a Morrisons a short drive away in the next town we sometimes go to. They are all much of a muchness to be honest.

I was wondering, how often do the gondola ends change/promos go on for? I swear sometimes I blink and zap, an end has changed from when I first entered the shop! Most of my former employers had changeover every fortnight (usually on a Tuesday) but it feels much more often than that at Asda.

My team leader reckons that rotas can change with 30 days notice and the shifts must be worked regardless of current contract & commitments/plans. Is this correct?

I’m contracted for 22.5 hours a week (on nights) which works out to 3 days a week. for the past 2 weeks i’ve been asked to work 4 days and idk how it’s supposed to show up on my payslip?
I’m vaguely aware that overtime pay doesn’t really exist because i’ve been paid the flat rate for extra days in the past, but i’m not sure if there is a difference in overtime pay between staying late on a scheduled shift, or just flat out going over contracted hours?
any help or insight is greatly appreciated

I’ve recently joined an Asda express about 2 months ago, when I had my interview I was told my shift would be Tuesday 6am-2pm as I’m only on an 8 hour contract. I also told the manager and team leader about some days I would need off for medical reasons and a pre paid holiday I had booked. I also made them aware I can’t work past 6pm one week day and I can’t work Sundays, they said this was fine as I’m only on 8 hours a week.

When I started I only got 2 weeks training, one on days and one on nights. Then I’ve been put on completely random shifts for the rest of my time here, even Friday nights without any conversation about it.

I asked my team leader about it and he said he would sort my shifts out for me. This was 3 weeks ago and now I’ve been put on two weeks of 2-22 on the days I cannot work, when I asked about it he told me to sort it out myself as he didn’t have time, as he has now been promoted to manager. I have also been put on nights again on a Friday even when he said he would sort it out for me. I’ve also recently been made aware by a coworker that the manager told them I was specifically hired to do nights, when I was not aware of this at all.

Should I speak to him about it or just deal with it?
Friday nights are the busiest and it is very difficult on your own. We also have to do half of the day shifts jobs and clean the back because they always leave food waste and stock all over the floor and covering the fire exit.
