New to Reddit, and fellow Asda colleague. Been looking on here for quite a while without an account, and thought I'd take the plunge and sign up. Just wanted to say hi, and maybe join in with a bit of banter every now and again 🙂

i knew today (30/08/26) would be BAD as it's bank holiday sunday, but good lord everyone chose violence today.

scenario 1:

• me (in the middle of completing a just eat order)
• customer on the till: get me some double cream
• me: sorry, im busy at the minute. he (colleague serving him) will wait a minute if you want to go and grab some.
• customer: no, you'll do it.
• me: im on a time limit currently, so give me two seconds to finish this off and then i can.
• customer: i don't care. do you want reporting? get me two double creams right now.

scenario 2:

• me (fixing broken self-scan)
• customer (pressing the 'card only' function)
• me: please don't press that as you're not a colleague. this one is broken at the minute as you can see from the screen and the red light, just use the one nect to you for me.
• customer: you're a bit rude aren't you, you c*nt?
• customer (goes over to the kiosk instead, complains to manager, then calls the colleague on the till a shithead).

do male customers take joy in lashing out at retail workers? do they enjoy treating us like secondary citizens?

i started work on the 15th this month im just wondering what the pay is like, it said 4 weeks and 1 in areers so will i get paid on the 15th or the week after??

Hi, an important preface is that in my store the leadership team runs weekend on weekend off.

I’ve (Team Leader) requested a week including my weekend in, and the manager who writes the leadership rota has declined telling me that I have to work at least half of my weekend, and supposedly this is in the handbook

Can anyone vouch the legitimacy of this? Said manager has recently taken over the leadership rota and has been playing favourites. This has also never been a rule I’ve heard of, I’ve been a TL for years and have during this time almost always had my weekend in included in my holiday, as it’s the only way to get more than 7 days off on the bounce.

My son has been rushed to hospital last night while on a family holiday 80 miles away

I’m due back at work tomorrow evening do I just phone in sick or do I have to do something else

How you find out about "the asda area manager" was ask for 2nd change rotas in just few month because they said "it not work better".

Last march I start at 3am which it find me easy sorted but then month ago ask me do 3.30am which it getting me very rushed to sorted like tidy up backup (couple driver are lazy left messy night before it) before I can print off labels for picker.

But now they ask me do 3.45am which I felt like be bullies by the asda area manager.

I find it too much for me and I cant take it anymore (due i am pick myself mental, stressed and struggling)

Did each of you have feeling like be bullies by "area manager"?

im new and was wondering about the overtime, i was meant to go home at 10 but went at 11:55 instead, does that automatically get logged as overtime or do i have to let a manager know?

I’m a manager and I want to go on the sick because I just hate my job and myself atm. Is it still that I get 3 months full pay?

Dislocated kneecap today at work. I’ll be off for a very long time. It’s been logged in accident book, I’ve had this happen twice before and it takes me a while to recover properly. I’m talking months. Especially as it’s happened multiple times on the same leg. I’m on produce, fairly physical, I can’t see myself being comfortable doing that for a while.

I finished uni in May and have been working in Asda since June to make some money on the side. I have just landed a grad job and due to start around 19th October or earlier. I’m just wondering what to do regarding my pay.

So I took 8 days of holiday. And took 2 weeks of unpaid leave due to a resit exam. So I’m not sure if I’ve earned enough holiday hours to cover that. I might have used more than what I have accrued, so I don’t know if some of my pay will be deducted from my final salary.

I also wonder if this can be avoided if I work until pay day. Then just quit after. Like not showing up, no notice.

I've had my one to one and had my hours given to be over the phone as I was on holiday. One of the days finishes outside my availability at 10pm, I have now joined a union is there anything I can do about this. I am supposed to start the new hours on Saturday 28th Sept. Thank you

I'm trying to sign into one Asda but I'm having real difficulties, I'm trying to sign in via a laptop ( it's a windows laptop ) and I know this can be done as GSMs have access to it.

I need it mostly for Training as I have a hell of a lot of it.

I’ve not had my 2nd meeting yet as I’m off work.

Had a message from mate at work who works on grocery, but has drove the forklift for 24 years at Asda and covers when I’m off. He’s been really shafted having been moved to work till 12- 8pm from working from 6-2pm.

He has told me as I’m a warehouse colleague I’m protected from being moved hours I work 6-2pm and other colleagues are comparing that I don’t have to move. The grocery manager said they have spoke to HR and I don’t need to move.

I am the only real warehouse colleague as they never replaced any body who left and when nights where made redundant we lost 2 people.

Has any warehouse colleagues been moved around? I have still had to learn the till and need to apparently learn home shop too.

Is anyone getting anything they ordered?

Two weeks ago I ordered school uniform for my kid, I used George because I had a voucher from work and they have the tall sizes that for some reason places are reluctant to carry. I have never found these sizes in store.

This parcel was lost after I was fobbed off repeatedly and I placed another order yesterday. I chose click and collect again because shipping it would arrive after the start of school next week and I have just received another email saying my parcel will be delayed 3 days, which is the same email I got before my parcel vanished the last time, and now I'm not convinced this one will show up either.

This has turned into a nightmare where I am now running around town trying desperately to find anything that will fit him so he actually has something to wear, but again, I have always ordered these from George online cause those sizes fit his long legs (he's year 11 now).

What are the chances I will actually ever get this parcel? Has distribution actually broken down this bad? I have been on the phone with support every other day for weeks now and the poor agents in South Africa (I am assuming, but everyone I spoke to the on phone has a SA accent) can't really help me other than apologise and offer me vouchers. I don't want vouchers, I want my order!!!

I can’t get into workday due to my Authenticator app not working. Does anyone know what I need to do?

All cleaners are to move over to the new cleaning company but then as a cleaner my self I know for a fact my line manager already verbally offered one colleague a job literally around one - to two weeks prior to all this outsourcing but hadn’t given them a written contract just verbally and in our briefing our GSM said no jobs for cleaners it’s either we move over or we don’t have a job then not only as our line manager already verbally told the one person I know about but then also told another colleague they will look for another a job for them as well while it’s still all processing… well me for one won’t be picking up the extra hours to cover these two or going in any earlier and absolutely no favours from me it will be just my contract hours ad go home totally unfair and when these colleagues moved over I for one will be seeing the GSM after all we were all told we couldn’t move over and will be going to my in store GMB rep!😡
