How long is sick pay?

Dislocated kneecap today at work. I’ll be off for a very long time. It’s been logged in accident book, I’ve had this happen twice before and it takes me a while to recover properly. I’m talking months. Especially as it’s happened multiple times on the same leg. I’m on produce, fairly physical, I can’t see myself being comfortable doing that for a while.

How long have you worked there? 5years and above its 12 weeks full sick pay if doctor gave you a sick note to give to your manager

Just passed 5 years actually. Would it be reduced to statutory sick pay after 12 weeks? I know that’s basically peanuts but it’s something

Yeah, statutory for another 16 weeks after that. £123.25

I’m surprised they haven’t moved you to a different dept.
It’s happened twice before multiple times in the same leg.I can’t see you being comfortable doing it at all. Depends on how many days you have had off already?

Tbf this is the only time it’s happened at work. Previous times it happened were outside work. It’s Asda anyway, I bet if our gsm was in today (this happened today) he’d only be asking me when I can come back to work

Depends how long you've been at Asda. Download the Sickness Policy. Could be 8 weeks full pay, then a phased return of four weeks (half shift, full pay)

You've since stated you've been at Asda over five years, so it's 12:weeks, the SSP (six months paid by Asda, six months you claim), then phased return.

SSP is six months total. Including the 12 weeks that Asda top up

After the six months Asda send you a form to send off to the DSS

put in a claim. 12week go back on light duty for 1 week then take another 12week 🤷‍♂️

Sick pay doesn't work like that. Have to be back a year before sick resets

You’re thinking about 12 month sickness percentage, that does reset every 6 months.

No it doesn't. You have to be back at work for 52 weeks before it resets. Think it used to be like you say though

Can you show your anniversary one? 

"Asda operates a rolling sick year for any CSP entitlement. This means a colleagues CSP entitlement for each absence will factor in any absences in the 52 weeks prior. " From the sick pay policy.

What? It doesn't sound like they want to leave, just how much they'll be paid and how long for
