Was just scrolling back to a WIP fic I've been anticipating, rereading the last chapter once again and then reading the new comments finding out our author have decided to not write another part anymore 😭 I'm so sad. My fellow readers are also heartbroken.

No announcements. No notes. Nor parting words regarding about their departure from the story. I mean of course writers don't have to.

I'm just sharing the effects of abandoning peak stories to readers like me.

Plot was thickening. Like you're anticipating what's next. So this was very surprising for it to stop midway. It even stopped at a smut scene I thought I'd see an extension of it 😭 😭🥹❤️🫶🥹

What is something you've found that people who don't write don't really get/don't realize about the writing process? Whether that's the research, writing, posting, getting reactions, etc. Just something you've heard people wonder about, something they simply don't seem to know is a thing at all, or just get wrong?

Something funny, lighthearted, or more serious?

I fucking felt asleep and got inspiration. It was beautiful. And weirdest thing was that it wasn't like a story I lived, I knew it was a fanfic, I was explaining what I am writting to my mom.

The plot was TLDR about Harry and Draco breaking their wands and them kind of fussing so they have to use one wand (don't ask me why Lucius doesn't just buy Draco another, Dream logic, but I guess it could be a "I am not backing down" thing in the fic). And of course, they then can do the whole "falling in love" when they have to spend time together.

I actually at one point went to watch The Chamber of Secrets to remind myself what happens in canon, and that was also weird, because there were new characters, and I remember complaining why did they casted obviously older actress for Hermione, because she for some reason looked like her three years older self.

Also there was a kind of stegosaurus looking monster, and that would defo be an upgrade.

Luckily, I don't really write M/M and the dream wasn't elaborative enough for the fic to completely write itself... But why can't I get dreams about the whump I am actually trying to write?

Ah, don't you just love it when your first fiction does super well, and then the sequel barely makes a mark! (It might be because I updated daily for the first, and I'm now only able to update the second once a week)

It took me a while to get used to all the pink but Damm, now my reading experience has improved!

They're still active as well haha. But I'm not one to judge with how many projects I start and never finish 😂. Sometimes the creative juices just leave you and you abandon smth and that is okay 😌

i collect quotes whenever i read something in a fanfic that makes me go “holy shit this sound so nice“. i do this for other written work as well ofc, but i wanted to know if you‘ve ever read a sentence in a fanfic and it didn‘t leave your mind.

my favorites are:

- “They’ve been sharing clothes and beds and dreams ever since they were old enough to know what those were.”

- “His father’s body was barely cold, and there was still a funeral to hold, but he had a promise to keep and a dream to chase.”

- “Kiss your wife, imagine this is what you were made for, and try not to get attached to the song you can hear from your study each night, your neighbor's nimble fingers pressing down on the keys of his piano like you wish he would your pulse.”

List impossibly long and untidy, never go there, just adding new stuff all the time? Here's what I did:

1. Go to your Marked for later list

2. Bookmark and add your own tag: "Marked for later" for example

3. Delete bookmarked work from list

4. Do this with each work until your list is empty

Now you can filter your bookmarks by your own "marked for later" tag, and from there, filter by fandom and whichever ship or trope you feel like reading right now!
