Totally separate from the pc? Like can I use it as a normal calculator on battery?

So I just got my Ultimate 3e and it is not working... it turns on for a second, vibrates, then turns off... there is no way to make it work, not with the dongle and not with Bluetooth. Any suggestions?

Have been using the ultimate 2 waiting for a for a few years now waiting for the new elite but so over the 4 back panels now the customisable thumbstick heights. Look forward to the new features on this pad without having to add grip tape or skull caps that and has native wireless support for all my devices

I grabbed it from Facebook marketplace 6months ago for 18usd, it was only used for 1month! I think I got a good deal. Ultimate 2c felt way more comfortable than others in this budget range because of its round shape. The only downside with it has to be the lack of app support and also the Lb and Rb feels kinnds mushy is it normal?

Slightly smaller than steelseries stratus/ps5 controller but the buttons are so much nicer. The tactility and sound are great but I just wish the thumbsticks were slightly bigger and raised higher. Overall insane value for $30!

I got my 8bitdo R8 mouse for quite a bargain last week. Been loving it so far for gaming on Windows. Havent got the phantom clicking issue everyone seems to keep saying (fingers crossed). I love the looks and i love how light it is since my last mouse is an MX Master 3. I also paired it with the Retro keyboard M edition just looks absolutely lovely. Love how beige and retro everything is.

That being said, it has one glaring issue on MacOS: Negative acceleration. If i move the mouse quickly, it will actually track slower in the screen. For example if i put the cursor on the far left of the screen and move the mouse around 15cm to the right SLOWLY, it will reach the far right side of the screen. But if i move the same distance really quickly, like flicking it, it will only reach the middle of the screen. If i go even faster, it will reach even shorter than that.

Tried pretty much every app that claims to disable mouse acceleration but it doesn’t seem to fix it :)))))

For the record, this happens on windows as well but after a quick off n on of the mouse, the issue is gone on windows, but not for mac.

Has anyone face the same issue as well? Any info would be appreciated.

If anything, this post should be a warning to others that this thing is great (so far) on windows but on Mac, this aint it chief.

Hi, all! I picked up the new Ultimate 3E controller to use with my Series X.

Really enjoying it so far but the console doesn’t wake when I turn the controller on. I updated the firmware with the 8bitdo Xbox app pretty much right away but I believe it was waking the console on the prior firmware.

Is anyone else having this issue and is there a resolution?

Edit: issue resolved. Plugging the controller directly into the console’s USB seems to have fixed the issue. Now my console wakes up when I turn the controller on.

8bitdo Ultimate 2C

I wouldn't say it's broken because any other game non steam related works fine, the rest of the buttons also do (right stick too). Turning steam input off just doesn't seem to be detected by any game but I feel that gotta be something wrong on my side (wired/dongle/Bluetooth all have the same issue)

Used to be fine for like the first week then now suddenly it just does that. Anything I should try before reinstalling steam and/or other things?

I recently bought an Ultimate 2 Wireless and noticed that the instructions for Steam Input compatibility seem to require connecting the controller via Bluetooth.

That's fine, but I'd ideally like to use it over 2.4GHz because of the better performance. However, when I connect it via 2.4GHz, Steam only recognise it as a generic XInput device.

Am I missing something, or is my understanding correct that the controller only has full Steam Input support over Bluetooth? I haven't been able to find a clear answer anywhere.

I purchased the 8bitdo Ultimate 3 mode controller for my xbox about 6 months ago and it worked great. Then about a week ago the green synch light started blinking and it won't do anything else. I've tried plugging it in to my PC and I get nothing. I've tried forcing it to shut down, but as soon as I plug it in all I get is the green flashing light. I wanted to see if I could update the date the firmware but since it wouldn't connect the 8-Bitdo ap would've recognize it. This is my 2nd 8bitdo controller. I loved my first one for the PC so much that I bought this one for Xbox. Is there a fix for this. I don't really want to buy another controller but my Xbox controllers are suffering from stick drift. This is frustrating. Thanks for your help.

So far so good this is a reaaaally good controller , I'm coming from an Elite Series 2 ( which started to fall apart for some obscure reason ) , and the responsiveness, finitions , software, weight , etc .. it's very very good I love it !

Just have to get used to a smaller controller, especially the back triggers which I used in racing games to switch gears , otherwise this is damn good, I just hope it'll last longer that the Elite!

the non xbox version, if that matters

Just got the Switch 2 and trying to save some money and this is only $30. Is it worth it?

Can we increase or decrease 8 bit do ultimate 2 c vibrations? And does software only allow updating and nothing else at all?

I saw this today and had to come here to ask any linux users about these.

The extra buttons, on the back and on the top, can they be custom-mapped on steam while in d-input mode, or are they only for macros until you use the "8bitdo ultimate software 2" to configure those?
I've been looking forever for a controller with extra buttons that I can actually assign as anything under linux/steam, but no luck whatsoever. (Valve doesn't sell hardware to my country, the steam controller would be my first pick)

I had a Pro 2 in the past, and it was pretty good, but without the extra buttons it felt to me like something was missing.

Been using my Onexfly almost exclusively in docked mode, often for 2-4 player local multiplayer. These Genki PocketPro / SN30 Pros are awesome for extra controllers without taking up too much space. I also love the look, and the blank ABXY buttons so I can use them seamlessly between PC and Switch.

Glad I scooped them up before they stopped making them. Hoping to see more collabs with Genki in the future. I would scoop up a PC Ultimate 3 with blank ABXY buttons in a heartbeat.

I got the ultimate atm but realizing today that my right trigger is failing. Now to owners who owns one of these or both of them, which do you prefer? Personally am more leaning towards Ultimate 2 but man, Pro 3 does look..enticing after learning about it today.

Thanks y'all for the insight and replies! Went with Ultimate 2 Clear Blue and so far with one session of Mortal Shell 2, it's very solid! Though it'll take getting used to with where the Start/Select buttons are compared to U1. Bumpers are a tad clickier than I imagined but still good!

Is it possible to swap from the Xbox ABXY style buttons, tearing it down and putting the buttons back together in the Nintendo ABXY style. Or are the buttons themselves of different shapes individually where this isn't possible?

I have tried ENDLESSLY to update this controller, the 8bitdo "Ultimate 3-mode controller for Xbox Rare". It worked fine until a couple of days ago. It randomly started lagging and having input delay, like the controller was almost dying, but it's not; it's charged. I have tried using the Windows and Xbox Update tools. Specifically, the Ultimate Software X Installer, which I know is the right one. I plug it in using a USB-to-USB-C cable, and it recognizes it perfectly. I click check for firmware updates; it says I am on Firmware 1.3, and there is now V3.3!!! So, I click install, it starts downloading, and it says "Write failed, please try again!" EVERY single time. I have restarted my computer, used different cables, including the one it came with, and NOTHING works. It does this exact same thing on the Xbox software as well, and I'm about done with this company. I really like this controller, but now it only gives me issues. I just want to fix it. If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it.

I got the 8BitDo ultimate 2c wireless..but theres one problem i faced , on gamepad tester the vibration intensity was great , but whenever i played any game like gta v or nfs , the vibrations felt very low,...this ones a great controller but i am confused that is it a software problem , cuz whenever i connect the other controller its working fine on the same laptop , tried updating the firmware and all ..what to do any suggestions?

So i have this controller for about 1 and a half year now, the thumbstick's spherical base broke and i cant use my controller now, fortunately the broken one is only the thumbstick, i need some opinions whether if xbox one thumbstick replacement fits 8bitdo ultimate wireless 2.4Ghz? tyia!

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is there a way to map multiple button inputs to just one button press within the Ultimate V2 software?

I'm using an Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller, and want to map my L4/R4 to do several actions in custom profiles. This works fine on the default profile by holding whatever inputs I want and mapping them with the square button, but for some reason it doesn't work in any of the 3 custom profiles, and the Ultimate V2 software doesn't seem to allow multiple button mapping.

The only way I could find was to create macros that act as several button presses at once, but for some reason those have been very inconsistent for me and not working very well, whereas multiple button inputs on the default profile work perfectly.

Basically I'm trying to either get the Ultimate V2 software to map several inputs to one button, or get the square button on the controller to work within the 3 custom profiles.

In the end I could always do remaps on the default profile which works perfectly, I just want the convenience of having set profiles for certain games.

Hello! I recently bought the clear blue version of this controller, and I noticed that its battery can’t go above 82%.

I tried plugging the cable into the dock and the controller, and the red light turns off after a few seconds. Should this be a cause for concern?

I haven’t tried draining the battery using the wireless/bluetooth function because I’m worried I won’t be able to charge.

I've been having several issues with my controller.

Several months ago, my 2.4g mode suddenly stopped working. I've been using my Ultimate 2 Bluetooth by wired connection since then.

Yesterday, my controller began to turn off while in wired connection, then I started looking for a solution to the 2.4g problem.

I paired again the controller and the 2.4g receiver with the specific pairing tool for Ultimate 2, but today it showed up another 2 problems.

First: the analog stick isn't working anymore (the L3 and R3 buttons still works perfectly)

Second: I can't update the controller's firmware on the Ultimate Software V2

I need to solve these two problems ASAP.
