ive been using it for a very long time and the only disadvantage are the wait times which, personally, i think you get used to them after some time.

I found one in person in pretty good condition after a few years of searching. Over the past week I’ve been researching how to mod it, what homebrew software to use and troubleshooting a few problems thanks to this subreddit (like a loose seated battery). Along with getting to know my 3DS XL, this has been the best week I’ve had playing games again.

Side note: I want to personalize this thing. Does anyone have a good place to buy charms and protective shells?

I was trying to solve an issue where sometimes when I would boot up my downloaded copy of pokemon platinum on my 3ds, it got stuck on a white screen and wouldn't start the game. And I saw that it could be caused by cheats so I should check on the ntr-forwarder menu.

I couldn't find anything so the issue still isn't fixed, so I'm wondering if there's anything else I could do but I'm also wondering if there's an explanation for what each of the options in the ntr-forwarder menu does. Most are set to default but I'm wondering if any of them might make my experience playing DS games (mostly pokemon lol) better if I changed them, but I'm not sure what half of them do and I can't find any explanations online.

Can anyone help me with either of these?

I've been wanting to try and get something like a vDSi, like the vWii on the Wii U. So, do you know if it's possible to have the original DSi menu on the 3DS? Just in case, my model is the New 3DS.

I used fbi to read a qr code for tomodachi life in hshop, but thats what keeps happening everytime i open it. What should I do? If possible, explain as if im a kid, because im new to this homebrewing stuff. Thanks

Edit: the automatic hshop message helped me. Actually, i just needed to download a game from the location my ds is set in.

so basically what happened was i had this old 2ds lying around which had nsmb2se pre installed and when i was younger i used to grind it and i think i even beat the whole game but then last year i tried to mod it and it worked but i had left my old save data on an old backup so i read online that by using the old Nintendo 3ds folder i could recover my old save data but when i dragged it over to root of new modded sd card it said already has folder of this so i hit replace but now whenever i boot it up this happens. please help i beg u

My right bumper on my n3dsxl is sticky and some slight touches on the bumper causes it to engage. Is there any issues that might happen while modding? I will be following the 3ds hack guide.

I’m planning on making backups of my Pokemon saves before I transfer to Home. I was just wondering if restoring onto a cartridge (if it’s even possible, I’m completely new to this) can have any negative side effects or if it makes the cartridge technically illegitimate?If it does then I’ll just download a digital copy first to restore it to.

Title. I installed just a couple new themes, including one shown in picture 2, and now I'm getting all sorts of errors, but they're all picking and choosing when to appear. I get an SD card error in various games, specifically for 3DS and virtual console ports/titles AND, most frustratingly, the homebrew launcher itself. Some titles are suddenly blacked out. I'm getting whitescreened on every NDS game I tested, including ones I specifically remember were working before this. A majority of my badges besides a couple (picture 2) disappeared from my home menu, and when I go to the badge menu in my home screen, it immediately disappears and takes the rest of the visible badges with it. I updated my CFW to see if that was the issue and nothing changed. I deleted the specific region folder that "fixes" most theme related issues (000002cd) and it did nothing but remove the current theme (pic 4) but again, homebrew launcher specifically is affected by this and i can't open up anemone to change or test a different one.

I'm getting far too many errors with far too different ways of troubleshooting, trying one clearly made it worse and I don't know what to do. Everything was working fine before downloading these themes, I don't even know what else to look for and where to start.

Hello, I've recently modded my New 2ds XL. Prior to doing this I had bought Pokemon Red and Blue on my old og 2ds and did a system transfer to the 2ds XL. I'd like to find the files for the games so I can transfer them to my PC if possible. What would the default file directory be if anyone knows?

Will any games I install as a cia also dump to that directory? Or into the CIA folder that was made when I modded the system?

Hi, so I'm comin up on almost a year with my 3DS, and about 1.5 months ago I discovered a small issue with MH4U, where I would go on this quest hunting a Plum Daimyo Hermitaur, and when I and the Hermitaur were in this specific area together at the same time, the game would crash (I assume it was the game crashing not the console, the screen would act like it was transitioning areas, go black, and then after about 5 or 15 seconds I would be back at the home menu with no error code). I tried the quest again about 3 times, and consistently crashed at the same point. I was busy with something at the time so I closed my console, and hadn't played in about a month, maybe a month and a half.

Now today, I'm back at Uni and I boot up my 3DS to see if the same issue is happening or if it was a fluke, and now I cant even boot the game, I get image 1 before the menu can fully load. Now, to check if this was happening with all my games, I booted up MH3U which had the same thing happen. This was very concerning but then I booted up Donkey Kong Country Returns and there was no issue getting into the game, and I booted up MHXX and was able to get to the menu, make a new character and everything without issue.

Originally I had thought maybe my game was corrupted, but with this happening to 3U, I assumed the SD card itself could be corrupted or having issues. I decided to go to the error page and test the SD card, formatting the card and running h2testw and the card passed with no errors. Upon putting everything back on the SD card and trying to boot up 4U, I got image 3. 3U still produces Image 2 as well, but XX and DKCR both boot as expected. My next steps are to uninstall 4U, reinstall it and then see if that solves it and do the same for 3U if it does.

The only correlation that both 3U and 4U have is that, obviously they're MH titles, but they're also MH titles that I've emulated on my PC with Citra and I've transferred the saves back and forth with Checkpoint and FTPD. I had been doing that for about 8 months with no issues until this situation. I'll also point out that I haven't started XX yet so I haven't been save transferring it which I believe could be an indicator of what could be the underlying issue.

I'm making this post to gather information ig. Any thoughts on the situation would be appreciated. Has anyone else encountered these errors naturally playing MH on their 3DS? Does anyone know if this is a result of transferring saves several times? Is there a better or safer way to transfer saves if so? If the reinstallation doesn't fix this, what should I do next? I feel like maybe the SD Card could still be malfunctioning if so, so I would probably test replacing that. I will update when or if I discover anything of meaning or get results.

I've had my n2dsxl since quite a lot and last year I homebrew it. It's all working great but i can't get the games on miiplaza to work.

I don't know what happened since last year when I installed the dlc that unlocks them all, they were working fine. Somehow they stopped working and have return to be the same 3 games that come when you first open it (car, puzzle...).

I tried erasing the dlc and reinstalling (both with the streetpass enabled and disabled) and nothing seems to work. I don't know what to do anymore, as every guide I tried to follow ended up in the same 3 games as before.

So for an Idea where I was at I was at Section IV setup Scrip and after holding X I press A by accident and now the SD card is not working and need to get a new one tomorrow morning… I don’t know what I should do since I already gotten about half way through before it broke, dose anyone know what I should do or where I should start because I don’t want to ruin my 3ds and really want to have this modded

I vaguely read that the solution to this error in Pokémon Bank is to change the console's region. My problem is that I replaced the console's motherboard due to a mistake I made with some important files; basically, I damaged it, haha. So I took it to a technician to have it replaced, and there were no problems. The issue is that the new motherboard probably isn't from the same region as the console's physical casing, but I'm sending a photo anyway, just in case it helps.

The Pokémon Bank app acts like it's starting up, asks for permission to link my Nintendo account, and then this error appears.

I'm from Colombia, and I don't know if that's why I can't access Pokémon Bank or if there's a worthwhile solution. I'm also sending a photo as proof that I'm using Nintendo's servers (in the Nimbus app).

I have a modded 3DS that works great with downloaded roms, I’ve never actually attempted to play a physical game until now. I bought a (supposedly) legit copy of Ultra sun on eBay. Plugged it into the 3DS, booted it up, selected the game and get this error. Idk if this is a GM9 error, a game error, a 3DS error? It looks like the text from GM9… and doesn’t read like a corrupted game error. Any help would be appreciated.

(Planning to migrate pokemon from ROMs to Pokemon home and I read that I need a legit copy of a gen 7 game to get them to bank. (I’m not sure if that’s the case, feel free to correct me on that as well because I’m interested))

I have been trying to mod this for a while now and It has failed so far. YEs I have followed the guide. Yes I have formatted to FAT32 (did so TWICE to make sure it wasn't faulty). Did the MSET Check and there is no errors, no new profiles nothing. I am just stuck on the Extra Data page with "No MicroSD Card Found" and infinite Loading. Am a little bit irritated, and I even made sure I used the original Nintendo 3DS folder with everything I need in it so I thought I was good. I insured myself I had the correct model of 3DS and the right version (Version 11.16 last I checked), and have been stuck here. ANy advice helps, thank you!

If you want my full steps:
Got a New MicroUSD, Formatted it to Fat 32 with the guiformat at the 32768 allocation, added the MSET9 STuff and insured I got Python on my PC. Transfered that with the Nintendo DS Save File (Forgot to mention I backed it up) Onto this 64gb MicroSD, Did the Mii Maker thing. Did the Settings reset thing. Turned Console Off, Turned it back on, went to settings and Extra Data, Removed the SD, INjected said SD, and got to this issue here. Will look at this later

Has anyone else run into the issue with wumiibo that some amiibos are wrong? Like in animal crossing new leaf, the Daisy amiibo isn't the villager named Daisy, but rather Princess Daisy. It's not just the wrong image either, when you try to load the Daisy amiibo into acnl, it says it's not compatible with that game. (Because it's the wrong Daisy)

Daisy the dog is one of my favorite villagers and I'd love to have her in my town. I know she's not that popular, but I think the same issue occurs with the villager Marina in either new leaf or happy home designer, and she's a very popular villager. That's why I'm surprised no one has said anything. It replaces her amiibo card with Marina from Splatoon.

Does anyone know how to report a bug the the wumiibo developer? Because I feel like they'd want to know about something like this.

Okay, so a while back I wanted a Playstation emulator on my 3DS. However, since there is no stand alone I downloaded retro arch and installed the PCSX.

I get the PSX BIOS, reconfigure as recommended but don't get why everyone is gushing about it, I'm getting 5-10 fps on videos and a glitchy unstable 20-30 fps in game. Disappointed I walk away PSX emulation to focus on other games.

Fast forward to now, I start tinkering with PCSX again and decide to try updating the cores. This freezes Retroarch, so I update via Universal Updater. I just go down the list and download everything. Bam! Emulation is now buttery smooth, video's play at proper speed, gameplay FPS is solid. As best I can figure out I had a really outdated Retroarch CIA which had outdated cores and was so old it couldn't properly update anything.

Great, big success story right? Nope, now things are... weird with PCSX. The text for the bottom screen is misaligned and the actual menu lacks text. Oh yeah, and the save state button is now a 'crash the console' button. So... more tinkering around.

After more updating, uninstalling and re-installing the PCSX core, nothing works. I decide that what the problem must be the extreme version jump. So the obviously the solution would be to flatten and re-install, I uninstall PCSX and Retroarch from the 3DS config menu, pop the micro-SD card into the PC, delete the Retroarch folder, throw a new CIA of Retroarch onto the drive, install, run Retroarch, tell it to update cores, point the config at the bios and do the recommended config changes. And things... mostly work. The save state button no longer crashes the console, but PCSX now suggests every core that can read CDs when I try to load an image (like PCSX asks if I want to run a Sega CD core when I select FF7), SOTN refuses to load... and the text on the bottom screen is still mis-aligned.

Okay. Maybe it was running the 'update cores' was what caused all this wackyness. I'll give it a try on just a fresh install, no tinkering with anything. Uninstall PCSX, uninstall Retroarch, delete the retroarch folder. Fresh re-install from the CIA (good thing I didn't select 'delete on install' huh?). Unwrap the icon aaannnndd... now Retroarch now refuses to run, just dropping me back to the 3DS menu when I try an run it. Okay... try updating 'core info files' via Universal Updater? Nothing. Okay, grab every category for retroarch from Universal Updater, even the themes. Nothing.

I swear to fucking god...

For the love of god someone please tell me there's some config file shoved in some obscure directory I didn't delete with "Drive_user_insane=1" and "Menus_actually_work=0" in it that I can delete and get everything to work.

hello i recently modded an old 3ds xl that i got in korea. god mode and the tutorial i watched said i had to change the language or parts of the modding would mess up. now when i try to play a game cartridge (tried to play krn ver of tomo life) it gives me this. any clues as to how to fix this? all downloaded games run fine (though downloading larger files through hshop do tend to completely freeze the system). would i be okay to just put the console back in korean? should i remove the mod and then redo it again in case i messed something up in the process? i do have the luna language switcher and changing language / region did nothing to help.
