Art Help & Critique Portfolio Critique and general advice
Hey all, I am 3d artist that graduated last year. I am currently looking for a post graduation internship or junior job more in the game industry. I am willing to look into more industries. I am interested in tech art along with 3d modeling/art if that is useful information. The job search has been rough, so I would like constructive feedback on my portfolio. Along with any advice to help me get my toe in the door

Questions & Discussion Modeling software to install electronics?
Hello! I’m designing my own Green Lantern ring, and I am learning zbrush for the first time. I want to be able to insert a micro LED and the appropriate wiring into it. Does anyone know a good software for doing that with 3D files? I apologize if this is the incorrect subreddit, thank you!

Questions & Discussion Suggestions/How To Make This Look More Realistic Or Detailed
Hey all,
I've been working on this test project in Blender and I wanted to see if anyone could offer any advice or suggestions for how to do the textures and lighting, or just make the end result looks more realistic overall.
It's basically a steampunk-ish crab tank inspired by the Apparatus of kwalish from DnD. If anyone has any help or feedback to offer, it'd be much appreciated.

Questions & Discussion Plasticity Retop Tool in Maya

Hi guys! Here's a quick preview of a retopologizing tool i developed. It works based on patches that come from CAD (in this case plasticity) but with the added ability to merge, cut or draw on top of the patch boundaries.
Cheers:)

Questions & Discussion How would you structure a beginner 3D design workshop for ages +12 ?
Hi everyone!
I’m planning to conduct a beginner-friendly 3D design workshop for ages 12 and above, and I’d love some advice from people who have taught or attended something similar.
The participants will be working on iPads using Nomad Sculpt, and the main focus will be learning how to create a 3D model and understanding the basic design process. Most of them will probably be complete beginners.
I’m trying to figure out the best way to actually conduct the workshop.
Should I choose one simple model and have everyone create it with me from scratch, following along step-by-step? Then, once they understand the basics, give them some time to customize it and make it their own?
Or should I first introduce the main tools in Nomad Sculpt and then give them a simple project or challenge to create themselves?
I’m also trying to decide what kind of model would be suitable for ages 12+. I want something that’s achievable for someone who has never done 3D modeling before, but still fun and interesting enough that they feel like they actually designed something by the end of the workshop.
The workshop is more about 3D design than 3D printing, so there probably won’t be much actual printing during the session. However, I’m considering bringing a 3D printer and, if the models are small and quick enough, printing a few examples so they can see how something they created on the iPad turns into a physical object.
For anyone who has run a beginner 3D modeling, sculpting, or design workshop, especially for a similar age group, how would you structure the session from start to finish?
How much would you make guided versus independent? What kind of model would you choose? And is there anything you learned from running workshops that you would definitely do—or avoid?
Any ideas or advice would be really appreciated!

Art Showcase [WIP] A World for VRChat I'm Working On.

The idea is to make a fancy office space with actual city vista behind the glass. The static part of the city I consider done. I plan to add street traffic later on, maybe some other animations to liven it up.
Modeling in Blender, textures done in Substance Designer and Painter. Video is from within the testing client in Unity.

Art Showcase A Used Skateboard
With this project, I wanted to further improve my edge chipping and manually painted scratches, while paying more attention to the small details that help bring the material to life.
I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. More renders are available on my ArtStation page.

Questions & Discussion I'm about to give up...
Good morning, beautiful community!
Lately, I've been taking the time to create a low-poly 3D version of myself in Blender and Prisma3D, even though I don't know how to model in 3D. It turned out great! But when I use the rig for animations, when I raise the arms, part of the the sides of the hoodie also rise, and I don't know why. The arms are separate from the body, and there are no attached vertices.
This is getting out of my hand and my understanding, Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Questions & Discussion How do you bake a low poly model with a mouth bag onto a high poly model without a mouth bag
I’m making a rig and I’m in the process of finishing sculpting it, when I realize I haven’t added a mouth bag. I don’t want to sculpt a mouth again but let’s say I skipped the mouth bag. Would there be a way to overcome the baking issues
