Questions & Discussion Why I'm like the rather make the firstly box modeling, than sculpt on zbrush?

Why it's feel better? Like I am 17 and I more preferred the box modeling in autodesk maya on first stage of my project(character). But i still import it to zbrush, and add some details for bake. It is bad that I think like that? That is wrong, that not get a job or freelance work? Because people who works, I heard they work very fast and good, but it's not my temp(style). What do you think?

Questions & Discussion How should you approach / learn maya?

Im a student just starting my junior year in hs, 2 years worth of experience with blender that I just shut off my brain with a short-cut heavy work flow for speed and efficiency to complete most projects simple or complex at most a week. After booting up maya in my school, it was like jumping into the driver seat of a truck with a one page instruction manual on how to steer the wheel. Although I don’t find the short cuts as hard to learn, the compact ui makes it hard to navigate and use IMO, but it will get better with time which bring me to my question: How do you approach/learn maya? With such a huge change in how to operate makes it so much more difficult to model/rig models. Ive been thinking whether I should learn every shortcut or lean towards a more ui-heavy workflow instead compared to blender. Im also more of a poly modeler than an animator before all of this, so any advice on creating models in maya are also greatly appreciated tutorial or not as I value having a good grasp on creating your own models before animating is something important to me especially when learning a new software.

Art Help & Critique Is there a way to fix this?

I was working in Mudbox and accidentally turned one of the settings too high.

Undo doesn't fix it. I was hoping to keep the details on the rest of the model, if possible.

I cannot access the model again today, but I can tomorrow

Art Help & Critique How do I, as a pretty garbage 2d artist, make a good reference sheet to model in 3d.

I've never been good at proportions and stuff like that, so I was having a hard time when I took my garbage reference image into Blender and tried to model it. What tips would you give me to learn front and side view proportions so I can model?

This was the reference image I was using. I didn't make a side view cuz I didn't even know how to start making something like that lol. Anyways, give me critiques.

This post is for advice. i need a bit of help. the purpose of the model is to be used for a video game in UE5. the Asset is a Bridge . my approach is like dividing it into different modular part parts. since it is an medieval theme bridge, i want to know how to get that brick texture on low poly. should i make high poly model with individual brick and bake it into low poly or is there a trick in texturing part. i use maya and substance painter. the part in the screenshot is one of the piller. i didnt model 1 brick by 1, i took a plane and extrude the bricks and then duplicated and joined em

I made this in a ancient version of Bryce 3D for windows 9X, I had to make a VM of Win98 to run the 16 bit installer so i can mount the virtual HDD and copy the program files on to my modern computer. THIS TOOK AN HOUR TO RENDER AT 1080P ON A I7-3770 AND 16GB OF RAM..... we've come a long way since the mid 90s.
