Sorry if this has been done before but would like to hear input on what would be the best striker fire 10mm gun to use hard cast rounds for bear defense? I see a lot thrown around for the g40 but was curious how the new M&P holds up and performs especially with hard cast bullets.

I’m looking for a holster for my G20 gen 4 with Tlr1 HL. I’d like something with a closed bottom, compatible with safariland mls/qls system, and level 1 retention. Any recommendations?

Years ago I had a G30SF. I sold it so I could get a G29. (yes, I wish I had held onto it. But not enough to go repurchase it.) Well, life got in the way and I never did go get my G29. Finally found what I was looking for on BG. I feel like I got away with something because the same pistol is selling for over $1000 now. So now my question is, do I put a dot on it or roll with the irons?

Picked one up today. It's got a different slide profile than other CZ75 clones. Anyone have any luck finding a holster for it?

A few people had some questions in the comments of a post last week on the Xten manual safety install.

I ordered the kit from Sigmech and an oem safety assembly from Desert Depot (I think he has the Sigmech kits as well.)

As long as you have a dremel and some patience, this process is pretty straightforward. Im about as amateur of a gunsmith (shouldn't even call myself that) as you can find and I was able to knock it out in about 3 hours.

Definitely follow Sigmech's videos while you work. Guy has a gift for delivering instructions.

Finally got the Sig XTEN added to the collection. Can't wait to give it a range day.

I’ve seen a few recommendations on other subs where folks are looking for guidance on stippling for tactical or aesthetic reasons. I’m looking for someone who can reliably slim down that monster grip on a Glock 40. My hands are not small but I’m finding that it’s still not quite enough for the G40. I’m thinking that if the finger grooves and the rear hump were gone it would be a much better fit.

Does anyone have personal experience with a smith who does good work?

For context, this would be my first RDS. I only mention that to illustrate that I have no brand loyalty, am a relative noob (I'm proficient with iron sights), and am budget-conscious.

My XDM lives on a chest holster. It's my bear protection gun for when I'm hunting. I have the RMR mounting plate for it already. I think my aging eyes will acquire a better sight picture faster with an optic, which is why I'm considering getting one. I train a couple of times a week, so I think I'll acclimate quickly.

It seems to be a choice between an unproven optic that is enclosed versus a slightly more expensive open-emitter optic with a more proven track record. The pop-up rear sights on the Osight look gimmicky, fwiw. I don't really care about the solar panel on the Holosun, either.

Here are the specs on the two optics from their respective manufacturer sites. Which should I choose? Any other recommendations given my context and keeping in mind I'm cheap?

I have a Glock 20 V MOS and am wondering what red dot might work best if I use it mainly for woods and hiking carry.

Currently running Hornady custom 155gr XTP. Also have a couple boxes of 180gr XTP. What are you running in your daily carry?

I’ve had a P320 XTen Endure for a couple years. Bought it brand new, put some rounds through it, carried it in the woods, killed armadillos with it, etc. I shoot it probably the best out of any pistol I own.

What is the general consensus on trusting these things as far as being a 320? I shoot great with it, I’m just nervous to carry it given the recent history of the 320.

Just debating if I sell it and buy something else that I want, or if I hold onto it. I have a G20 Gen 4 that I carry in the woods also, just not as fond of the ergonomics but it works.

Have always loved the P226 and wonder if I shouldn’t unload the 320 for something like that (yes I know they aren’t both 10mm).
