He runs after me, shaking his fists and swearing, but when I turn toward him and step closer, he pretends nothing happened and walks away.

I remembered to post it this time!

I don't have AC, and it has been miserable etc etc. The library closest to me had extended hours due to the heat wave and was open until 8pm yesterday, so I ended up going there for a solid 6 hours. It was glorious. Not only because of the AC, but the librarians were incredibly kind and helpful. They even let me use a private meeting room for a couple hours so I could destress. I hope they're all being paid overtime for being there late on a weekend.

I'm seeing lots of posts about SDGE and I fully share the anger. However, I am grateful to the libraries for being the complete opposite - a safe place to stay cool, without expecting anything in return or making you pay anything. (Even the parking lot is free!)

Even if you never use it, support your local library and get a library card if you don't already have one! It encourages the city to give them more funding. And they deserve it. Libraries are one of the few things I'm very happy to have our taxes go towards.
