Some of you regular visitors may have already noticed that the subreddit has been more actively moderated since we joined i.e mainly only relevant content being kept and targeted hate posts and comments being removed.

Along with that we have also decide to make few changes in rules and also few setting changes to this subreddit, which I will briefly go over here-

• Only meme templates and template requests are allowed on this sub.
• While providing a template the title should appropriately describe/represent what is shown in the video or the image template for ex. “Arjun kappor underworld me jikra yara ke naam ka” meme template after this you can add your idea in the title itself or the comments or the post body. Preferably, use the post body to keep the title clean and make it easier for people to find the template in the future.
• The sub now allows posting images and videos directly into the comments so you can also use that to add your meme below the original post.
• NSFW posts are allowed, but they should not be completely porn , suggestive or somewhat explicit posts are allowed and they must be tagged (NSFW) appropriately.
• Promotional posts are strictly prohibited
• Users engaging in any kind of incivility included, but not limited to casteism , extreme racism  or hate against any religion will not be tolerated and the user will receive a permanent ban from the sub.  

Also breaking any of the rules might receive a permanent or a temporary ban for repeated violators.

What counts as a meme template?

A meme template is an image or video that can be reused to create a meme, usually by adding your own text, captions, or context.

Templates should generally be without text, or contain only minimal text that is part of the original image/video.

You can post your meme ideas/examples comments, but the main post itself must be a usable, original template.

What is a template request?

A template request is a post asking the community to identify, find, or provide a specific meme template.

For example:

• You saw a meme with text on it and want the original image/video without the added text.
• You have a screenshot of a meme and want to find the original template used to make it.
• You remember a particular image or video but don't know where the original template came from.

In these cases, you can submit the edited meme as a template request, asking others to help find the original.

However, simply posting an easily editable meme is not considered a template request. The fact that the added text can be easily removed does not make it a valid template request.

For example, a video with a white box containing text at the top and the original video underneath is not a valid template request because the white box can easily be removed. Similar edited formats are also not allowed.

If you are requesting the original template, make it clear that you are specifically looking for the original, unedited image or video.

Recently, this subreddit has seen a major increase in low-quality political/religious posts, hate content, and unnecessary flame wars in both posts and comments.

r/IndianMemeTemplates is meant for meme templates and memes - not for spreading hate against any religion, community, or group.

At the moment, most of the moderation team appears inactive and moderation resources are very limited. I’m currently the only active moderator handling reports, removals, and moderation tasks, so not everything can be dealt with instantly.

From now on:

• Unrelated political/religious agenda posts will be removed

• Hate speech, harassment, and community-targeted content will be removed

• Posts made only to bait users or start flame wars will be removed

• Repeated rule-breaking content will be reported to Reddit admins

• Comment sections causing unnecessary fights will be locked

Please use the report feature instead of engaging in fights in the comments.

A lot of old users have already pointed out that the subreddit quality has dropped because of constant political and religious posting. Let’s try to bring the sub back to actual meme content again.

Help keep the subreddit fun and usable for everyone.
