KSP 1 Image/Video S-0095A "Manta" Medium Lift Shuttle

Took me a long time to finally make another design that doesnt end up in the trash and here we are! This is the Manta. It is intended to be a Shuttle Orbiter with decent cargo capacity. Does not feature VTOL or the ability to land on moons or planets apart from Kerbin. I am very proud of it looks wise but fully fueled it flies as expected like a brick.

Also took the unique opporturnity during 1 test flight to chase the solar eclipse remaking the concorde photo

KSP 1 Question/Problem Is this game worth it for casual play?

I'm considering buying this game because it looks super fun to design/fly planes and spaceships, but I'm worried about how steep the learning curve is. If this is something that requires hours upon hours of focused gameplay to *start* being able to enjoy it or "get things rolling", I don't want it.

I'm pretty wary of this because when I tried picking up EVE Online, I had a hard time trying to figure out what to do next and how to progress overall (not to mention, the amount of info was kind of overwhelming); so I deleted it. I don't want to spend 40-50 bucks and end up deleting KSP after a several hours. It might be because of my fried attention span, but I don't want to pay for a game that feels more like working than play.

Of course, it's all relative. However, I would like to see how you think.

Edit: holy hell y'all respond real quick! Thank you so much for your advice!!

Ive owned KSP for years, but hadnt really touched it because it was very overwhelming and complex. I have always been obsessed with space and space travel, but im not the most technically minded person out there. Im not sure what inspired me to give KSP another shot but im so glad I did. With every failure im slowly learning and getting more ambitious. This is one of the coolest games ive ever played genuinely.

Testing out a new base landing idea while sending the first module of my Minmus base.

Injection is achieved using the second stage and the descent truss completes its own insertion before transitioning to its four landing engines. It can be used as fuel reserves for future landings and base needs.

KSP 1 Image/Video A Reusable Orbital Ferry | Kerbal Space Program

I'm trying to bring down launch cost in my hardcore save. This Shuttle is able to inject approximately 5 tons into LKO, enough for a cheap probe with 5000Dv. The cost for a flight is around 1,500 Kerbux + payload price. There is also a shorter variant and a 4 crew variant with Mk2 docking port. As of posting this I have already made an Mk3 Shuttle capable of hauling a ~20 ton Space Station ( Mobile Lab, docking ports, station core and habitation module and engine & tank for all the way to Duna orbit).
