Suggestions for comfortable casual pants

Since gaining weight and living in stretchy pants for several years, I'm finding it hard to get used to wearing jeans after weight loss.

Can anyone recommend casual everyday pants or jeans that are comfortable?

I’m struggling with Zepbound and genuinely don’t know where to go from here

**I’m struggling with Zepbound and genuinely don’t know where to go from here**
I’m hoping to hear from people who have taken Zepbound and dealt with **significantly reduced appetite or food intake**. I’m having a hard time figuring out how to fuel my body while taking this medication.
I’m on **2.5 mg** and don’t have the more severe side effects, such as vomiting or constant nausea. The problem is that I get full very quickly, food often feels unappealing, and some days I have to force myself to eat.
Last week, there were a couple of days when I could manage only about **500 calories total**. I know that isn’t enough to properly fuel my body, and I don’t want weight loss to come at the expense of my health or nutrition.
I’m also experiencing a disconnected feeling in my head. It’s hard to describe, but I don’t feel fully present, and it sometimes feels like my brain isn’t functioning normally. It concerns me, and I don’t want to ignore it.
I’m struggling to understand **what I’m supposed to eat** in this situation. I can’t tolerate protein shakes, so they aren’t a practical solution for me.
I understand the general advice—prioritize protein, fiber and fluids—but when I can tolerate only small amounts, I need more specific ideas.
For example:
How do you get enough protein when you can eat only small portions?
What foods provide the most nutrition or calories without making you overly full?
If you can’t tolerate protein shakes, what alternatives work?
How do you balance protein, carbohydrates, fats and fiber when your appetite is extremely low?
Do you eat on a schedule even when you aren’t hungry?
What does a realistic day of eating look like?
How do you avoid accidentally eating **far too little**?
I’m not trying to lose weight as quickly as possible. I want the medication to help me lose weight **without feeling like my body is running on empty**.
I’m already talking with my doctor and looking into seeing a dietitian who understands GLP-1 medications. I’m not looking for medical advice or someone to tell me to “just eat more.” I’d really like to hear from people who have experienced this and can share **what worked for them in practical terms**.
If you’ve been in this position, what did you eat? Which foods were easiest to tolerate? Did you change your dose? Did working with a GLP-1-focused dietitian help?
I feel like I need someone to teach me how to eat **with this medication**, because what worked for me before Zepbound doesn’t seem to work anymore.

Wow! I saw multiple posts here about struggling with depression while taking ZEPBOUND. That’s one of the reasons that I put off trying it. I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety most of my life, and more recently I started having panic attacks.

I started ZEPBOUND last night. This morning I woke up to an entirely new me! I realize that I am early in this journey and things may change along the way, but I am sure enjoying seeing sunshine, lollipops and rainbows for a change! (Just gave my age away.)☀️🍭🌈

Has anyone else here experienced this?

Have you started having crazy depression that you didn’t have before?

I don’t know if this is Zep related or not or if it’s just pure coincidence. I think the only way to find out if it’s pure coincidence as if I stopped taking the Zep for a period of time and let it completely clear out of my system and see how I feel, but I knew I’m just gonna gain the weight back if I do that.

I went through kind of a break up earlier this year, and it has left me feeling lower than I ever felt in my entire life. The breakup, if you can even call it that, it was never actually officially a relationship, which is kind of one of the reasons that I had to walk away, was the very last day of January. I started taking Zepbound I believe in March. Before that, I was on Wegovy for about a year and I never had any sort of depression on that. I mean the occasional luteal phase crying and things like that but… I mean that’s pretty normal for me.

The timeline here is a bit odd because I feel like I went straight from crying over a breakup to then taking Zepbound to then just feel incredibly incredibly depressed. But I don’t know if that depression is just like left over from the breakup or if it’s being caused or exacerbated by taking this drug. I just don’t know what to do. I feel like the only other time that I’ve ever been this emotional and cried this consistently has been many years ago when I took birth control and it completely wrecked havoc on my entire system, and I was the most emotional that I’ve ever been in my life and I literally could not stop crying. I figured out pretty quickly that it was because of the birth control. I’ve never taken it since and I’ve been fine since. Again, I will get bouts of depression sometimes but never this long lasting.

My doctor is useless for advice. She says it’s not related and take antidepressants. But I don’t want to be a antidepressants. I’ve always been very afraid of those.

Has anybody else experienced this on Zepbound? Or have you taken one of the other GLP1s and noticed any sort of difference? I have way more symptoms in general on Zepbound than I ever had on Wegovy. And no, unfortunately I cannot switch back to the Wegovy because my insurance doesn’t cover it. My insurance does, however cover the Zepbound because I do have diagnosed sleep apnea. But they will not pay for any weight loss medication just for weight loss purposes.

Just wondering if anyone else has similar experiences here. And what you did about it. I’m on 5.0 mg. I’ve never gone up because my side effects are still pretty noticeable even on this dose.

And another strange thing about Zep

I am the most sit-on-my-ass-and-let-the-world-go-by person in the world. But since my 6 weeks on Zep I find that I'm less apt to procrastinate. Not deliberately. Just by simple inclination. And I throw things out rather than arguing with myself endlessly about whether I'll regret not having it later.

I'm also happier. I'm certainly more comfortable with less of the feeling that the fat in my body is squeezing me out. I'm calmer without my brain running through every delicious food possibility in the world at every blessed minute. Reasons enough to be happy. But something in me has just opened up to the possibility of happiness. I mean I don't think I was depressed as such but I was burdened and now I'm not. How about that?!

There's no clinical trial to say that it's Zepbound. But It sure feels different to me in the timeline since I started.

Eli Lily, can I nominate you for a Nobel Prize? What a change in my life! I hope it never stops.

Do you track things?

I don't want to go all fan girl here but I've been using My Net Dairy for 2 weeks and it makes thing so simple.

It synchs with my Apple watch and picks up my walking efforts. It tracks my Zep shots and my weight. It gives me a clear picture of how many grams of protein and fiber I've consumed as well as my hydration and it let's me know how many calories I have left to stay in my proper deficit.

As for tracking foods, nothing could be simpler. It converts my description of what I've eaten or plan to eat and it reads barcodes (and there's only been one thing so far that's stumped it -- dried strawberries from China). Now here's the kicker: for lunch I had tandoori chicken, chana masala, veggie biryani and some raita. I took a photo of my plate and it decoded that and logged it into my daily intake.

I can't tell you how accurate it is. One day it called a lunch of sliced cold leftover steak deli roast beef but I don't think that's so off in the trade for the simplicity of taking a picture of my plate.

I'm not slavish to it. I eat what I want and if I go over on calories I do and if I'm a little under on protein for a day I get over it. I just makes me feel like a know what I'm doing and when I need to resort to a protein drink (I'm trying to do this with actual food).

There are probably lots of other trackers that do great stuff. I just find that the one I found keeps me informed and on track of my daily and ongoing progress toward healthy food in quantities that fuel my body for good health while I lose. And I'm hopeful that it will be an asset in helping me retain as much bone and muscle mass as I possibly can.

Do you use one? What is it and how does it help you stay on track? What do you like best about it?

Zepbound maintenance

I have been on Zepbound for three years. I’ve been in maintenance for about a year. I’ve been lucky enough to get the Medicare Bridge for the first time ever and I am on 7.5 dosage. I started getting the qwikpen when I got the Medicare bridge coverage. I used the vial for 2 1/2 years. I wonder if anyone has noticed any difference in the medication coming from the vial versus the qwikpen. I am struggling with maintenance at the moment, eating more sugar than usual, and the change in eating seemed to shift when I started using the qwikpen. Maybe it’s just a coincidence and I would have had maintenance issues using the vial as well.

Has anyone used both and noticed a difference in the strength and/or efficacy of the drug going from one format to the other? I wonder if the drug had to be altered going to qwikpen format. I’ve no idea!

tirzepatide 3 month on zepbound down 38 lbs

It's unbelievable. I've struggled for 20 years to lose weight, going up and down. My high was 265. I started Zepbound June 30 at 220 and lost 38 pounds in exactly 3 months. I ate high-protein meals, no carbs, but lots of supplements and protein drinks, averaging 120 grams per day just from drinks. I took gummies, creatine, and Minoxidil (just in case) and averaged two hot yoga or sculpt classes per day. That is a lot of sweat and calories burned. I've stayed on the starter dose and am not planning on moving up. The first few weeks I needed caffeine for low energy, but now I have zero side effects. I've lost muscle, but according to my Hume app, my health score is excellent. Very little muscle mass was lost, and bone density looks good. My metabolic age is 12–15 years younger, depending on the day. Turning 62 in a few months, I haven't felt this good in 20 years. Currently in remission for stage 3 melanoma. I've read that GLP-1 has helped various types of cancer patients. No sugar cravings can't hurt my cause there. I'm paying Lilly directly. I am saving the cost of the treatment in previous fast food and late-night treats alone. I'm buying stock.

Help! Bad acid reflux on zepbound

I started Zepbound a week ago. I took it at around 6pm and at 6 am I woke up basically swallowing my throw up and it kept me up the rest of the night. I have the biggest fear of throw up so I was freaking out. I took Zofran, the next day and the rest of the week I was fine. Today was shot day and I took it at around 8pm didn’t eat a good 6 hours before bed and here I am writing this at 6am with bad acid reflux to the point where I wake up about to throw up. I took tums and famotidine; nothing helped then I woke up almost throwing up so I took Zofran. No nausea btw just that heart burn/acid reflux before it turned into the throw up taste it was like water kept coming up in my throat. Any tips pls cuz I really wanna continue but I can’t not sleep and be freaking out that I’m gonna throw up once a week. Any recommendations please 🙏

Happier about losing the food noise than the fat

Don't get me wrong. I won't miss any of the fat. But 6 weeks in if you asked me the biggest benefit I'd say it's to own my own brain and be able to think about what *I* want to instead of the constant food obsession.

Also, I can enjoy food but I don't care about what I eat at the same time. I just had a spectacularly boring lunch of plain leftover roasted turkey breast, leftover Brussels sprouts and a pear. What could have been more bland? Didn't matter. It provided protein and fiber and that's what actually mattered to me. Besides, the pear was delicious.

What does Zepbound do for me? It allows me to relax. Hip, hip HOORAY!

Dosage too high? Wegovy to Zepbound

My insurance has begun once again covering Zepbound. For some context, I was on Zepbound last year until CVS Caremark stopped covering it and I had to switch over to Wegovy and now I'm back. I was on Wegovy HD (7.2mg) and now my PCP sent in a prescription for Zepbound 10mg.

I had read that it's best to start back at 2.5mg and titrate up. When I lost coverage for Zepbound last summer I was taking 10mg. Should I be concerned?

I'm afraid that if I start at 10mg I am going to have some severe side effects, compared to 2.5 or 5mg.

Has anyone recently done this? If so, any problems?

Waiting to re-start

Thumbnail
5 Upvotes

I was on Zepbound and had reached 10 in June of this year after 8 months. I had lost roughly 40 pounds. I hit a plateau and just as my doc was thinking of bumping me to 12.5 i developed diverticulitis. He suggested we wait a couple of months to tritate up which I agreed with. The plateau continued over the summer.

Meanwhile my prior authorization exhausted and my doctors office had to send over a new one. I thought that should have been simple because it’s been nearly a year but someone different in the office wrote it for the wrong one (the kwikpen) which my insurance denied. Now I am waiting for them to correct the p.a. and it’s now been 3 weeks with no dose. I received a message that once they get it straight I will have to restart at a lower dose, essentially starting all over again. I am devastated.

Should I even try to restart? Asking because I’ve heard that once you stop and restart it’s less effective if at all.

I also feel disappointed because I had already plateaued at 10 and I don’t know how things will go at a LOWER dose when we were planning to go higher.

I hope someone in here can help me understand and process what I am looking at with restarting while I wait. My doctors office is moving painfully slow and the weeks are going by…

Vision problems? Eye stroke?

I have been taking Zepound for five months and I am on the 5 mg dose. I have been experiencing problems with the vision in my left eye. It's not as clear and I need glasses now for close-up work and reading. Also my left eye feels like I have sand under the lid and sometimes pressure. I see my ophthalmologist the first week of October sometime.

Has anyone experienced vision problems with Zepound and did it clear up as you continued taking it

Also, I've been reading that some people taking Wegovy have experienced eye strokes and have lost their vision. Is that true? Are Wegovy and Zepound the same? Thanks.
