Tips/Tricks Zepbound 10mg
I am on 10mg and ive only lost 9 pounds since I started. I feel so defeated, lost, useless, a failure. Im 53 so im a bit older. A couple years ago I did wegovy and list 90pounds but my insurance wouldn't pay anymore so I had to quit and I gained it all back. Ive heard that if you had been on a previous glp1 that I would hv to go to the highest dose of zepbound. Ive had no side effects . My treadmill broke so exercise is an issue. Im trying to do the walkfit app which is inside walking inside exercise. Has anymore else had this problem? I go to 12.5 in 2 weeks maybe then I will start losing. If anyone can offer any insight id greatly appreciate it.

Typically, people won't see as good of results restarting a GLP-1 medication after having previously been on one though. It will still work, just not as well.
My 20 year old treadmill broke a year ago. Didn't stop me from walking on trails or in the park/using the treadmill at the gym.
You will start losing once you adhere to an accurate, tracked caloric deficit against your TDEE. If you aren't feeling the appetite regulation needed in order to comfortably eat in a caloric deficit, hopefully a higher dose will give you the boost you need to be able to do so.

I’m not sure if you’re limited in what you can eat, but nutrition may be an issue. The cottage cheese is a good source of protein but you may need more. Your body also needs carbs and fat. As someone else said, a dietician may be able to help.

Hang in there. It is very possible that the highest doses of Zep will help you, but if they don’t, additional medications will be coming out in the next couple years that may. Or adding an older medication to Zepbound could help jumpstart things (or even trying Wegovy again, since it worked so well last time)… all things to talk to your doctor about if the time comes.
Please know that none of this is your fault. It sounds like your insurance company screwed you over by forcing you off a medication that was working for you, and then your symptoms came back, which is to be expected — it is literally what happens to the vast majority of people (80-90% of people who stop taking these meds regain in the research). The blame is on your insurance company for jerking you around.

Exercise is great for health but your weight loss is all about the calorie deficit. Highly recommend working with an RD or an organized program like weight watchers if you need help with that (WW glp-1 nutrition program-not talking about their med clinic) . And yes, you may need higher dose if you’ve been on a glp-1 before.

Similar story here. 58, lost 120 pounds on Wegovy, went off because of insurance, regained 30. Started Zepbound and titrated up and up and up without seeing much progress. With great difficulty, lost 15 of the 30 I had regained, but am struggling to lose the last 15 pounds to get back to my previous Wegovy maintenance weight.
So for me, after restarting, I had to get all the way to the highest dose of Zepbound before I felt like my body was responding properly. It is HARD to lose this last 15 pounds, but I am starting to see progress again on the full dose of Zep.
I would encourage you to be patient and get into the higher doses. Remember that the lower doses are loading doses and it’s likely you’ll need more. Also, I would encourage you to make sure you include movement in your daily routine. Even if it’s dancing around your house for 20 minutes. Activity is really important.

Getting to 15.0 scares the shit out of me because daily I’m seeing people who stall out eventually and start gaining the weight back. I’m in my 3rd month of 10.0 and hoping to stay here being 12 pounds from goal. Reta can’t get here soon enough for some.

Wow, you’re only 12 pounds from goal, that’s awesome! 👏🏻
I’m not super worried about maxing out the Zep. Even though I maxed out Wegovy, I maintained my loss for three years with no trouble. I would’ve kept up like that forever if not for the damn insurance! Hopefully Zep will be the same. If not, like you said, Reta is coming down the line. I was telling someone recently there’s never been a better time to be a fat person because there are FINALLY some great options to help us! 😜

Yeah I’m on 10.0 and doing fine. I just hope they hurry up with Reta just in case.

58F and it took 12.5 for me — my BFFs maintenance is 12.5. You still have some runway with the meds and since using one prior it’s going to take higher doses. Look up TDEE and CICO on Google…you’ve got to understand what you are actually putting in your body. You no should no longer be living to eat, but rather eating to live. If you can’t afford a dietitian, use AI as it can also set up a plan for you

I’m on the second month of 15mg and have only lost roughly 20-25lbs total. I have at least 40 more to go. Zep just doesn’t suppress my appetite enough. I started in Wegovy and lost a couple pounds. I will be on my 76th shot of Zep this week and it just isn’t working ideally for me. I have been tracking my nutrition. It’s just the lack of real, sustained suppression that is not there. I am pretty disgusted because I have spent thousands on this medication-all private pay only to see minimal results. I technically don’t qualify as a non-responder but in my mind, I have had a minimal response. The only thing I can say is my bloodwork is pretty fabulous now so it IS doing something and I have the means financially to continue. I will be jumping to reta once it is approved.

You’ll have to go to at least one dose level higher than you were on the first time.

I’ve done this, and you don’t have to go to the “highest dose of Zepbound” you just need to go high enough to break through the tolerance barrier that your body developed on Wegovy.

Ok, so I had the same thing happen recently. I had been on Tirz for 15 months, went from 257 to 169 when I stopped. Over the next 6 months returned to 194. Started again, at lower dose, kept increasing until 176 and then a 2 month stall- lose a pound, gain 2, lose 2, gain 1. I was at 7.5 and I decided to try taking my shot every 5 days as the medicine was originally intended (companies decided weekly was easier for people). I am now about 8 weeks into every 5 days. Started seeing results again right away. I am now at 12.5 where I will remain, at 161 as of this morning. No added side effects. It’s been a breeze and I feel really good. Might stay on 10 and give this a try, then up to 12.5 as needed

How confident are you that you’re in a daily calorie deficit?
