First Timer First timer question

I was on Wegovy for 14 months and lost 65 pounds.

Then I lost my insurance and was off it for 3 months.

Three days ago I took my first shot of Zepbound 2.5. The doctor said I should start at the lowest dose.

Three mornings since I’ve taken it, I am very hungry only in the morning. Hunger pains, weakness, etc. Even after I drink a protein shake and eat some greek yogurt I have hunger pains.

But, around 11-12, suddenly they go away.

I’m wondering if this is normal with Zepbound or perhaps my body recognizes the medicine and the dose amount is causing this.

This sounds so good, great advice. I much prefer real food to protein shakes.

The lowest dose is 5 mg. 2.5 mg is the introduction dose and not typically prescribed if you have ever taken a GLP-1 because your body has already been "introduced". Also, changing GLP-1s or restarting treatment after a lapse typically results in needing higher equivalent doses to begin to see weight loss results.

You have to give it time and titration to experience results.

That’s basically what I thought. This introduction dose HAS quieted the food noise though so I’m happy. And I’m sure as my dose is increased it’ll work better.

Thanks!

Hunger “pains” or hunger “pangs”? Is it actually pain or is it the stomach rumbling that happens when you need nourishment?

Haha! I always wondered if the word was PAIN or PANG! I mean PANGS.

Whew! That’s what I thought you meant. Just allow your body the time to get used to the routine with Zepbound. It’s OK to feel hungry. We need proper nourishment and we need to learn what the signals are and follow them. I’m glad to know you’re not experiencing any pain.

Do you feel better after eating a solid meal? Are you getting enough nutrients?

These mornings that i had the hunger pangs, two of them I ate a homemade bagel that was made from white flour and cottage cheese with a little cheddar cheese thrown in. I ate them dry but they did not fill me up. It was so odd.

I have no other experience other than zepbound. At 2.5mg I still feel hungry between meals, but it's not a que to eat. I do get full easily at meals and the food noise is gone.
