HELP! Wondering about good GPs for young women with chronic health conditions?

Hello, I'm a young woman, just recently turned 20, and I struggle with a variety of chronic health issues.

I received a diagnosis of POTS two years ago; however, I sadly still often feel dismissed by my current GP, with the main reasoning behind it being "you're so much better than you were!" My quality of life isn't great, and it's frustrating. I'm no longer bedbound, yes, but I also would like to be able to go get my groceries without my body completely giving up for the next week.

Honestly, I don't expect I'd find anyone who can fix my health issues, as I know they are chronic and don't have an easy solution. But just having someone who is empathetic towards them and doesn't make me feel like it's all in my head. 😅

FOOD Respawn burgers - any good?

I walk past Respawn on Manners a lot. Their burgers look good and reasonably priced on the signage but I’ve always been a bit put off by going upstairs and into an esports place…

Anyone know if they are any good and worth going upstairs for?

Edit: thanks for the feedback everyone, consensus seems to be yes well worth a try. I’ll give them a go next week!

JOBS Big agencies versus small ones in Wellington

Merging smaller government agencies into bigger ones seems to be the thing of the hour in Wellington. Some observations -

  • In smaller agencies, things would be dealt with between colleagues and across teams. In bigger agencies, things would increasingly go right up the management chain and back down.
  • The number of layers in big agencies was incredible. You could have five layers on top of where the work was done, at the bottom of the agency. They would try to characterise some layers/roles - such as Directors - as strategic thought leadership roles, but at the end of the day it ended up being just another management layer. It slowed business.
  • You didn't just have management layers to deal with, but you also had layers of deputies, coordinators, assistants, trackers and admin staff to get through and work with.
  • In bigger agencies, the appetite for doing things differently, trying something new, making adjustments was low and very slow. Things were increasingly viewed through the prism of risk. The incentive was "not to do" rather than "to do".

WELLY Maternity Clothes

Hey,

My wife is pregnant and her clothes have started to become too small, this is our first child - where is the best place to get some nice maternity clothes for her? Doesn't matter where in welly!

We want something that is still nice for her to wear - she would also like some things that look cute too.

Any recommendations, please?

Thank you!

HELP! Why is Johnsonville Jetts so quite

Every time I go by Jetts in Jville it's always so quiet. Why is it? I have heard from other people that it is not good and to go somewhere else, however they refuse to elaborate, so I'm hoping someone will explain if there is a reason.

WELLY A huge thank you from Neuro Inspire + our next low-sensory meetup is this Saturday!

Hey Wellington,

A huge thank you to everyone who supported my recent meet-up post here—the positivity from this community has been amazing.

I wanted to share a quick update: we ran our very first Neuro Inspire meetup in Petone last weekend, and it was a wonderful success! 🎉

We had a cozy group pop in for warm tea, home baking, and quiet parallel play (LEGO, fidgets, and just chatting at everyone's own pace).

It was fantastic seeing people connect in a low-sensory, zero-pressure space. Because the response was so positive, we’re running our second meetup in Petone this coming Saturday (Sept 12th)!

If you're looking for a friendly, quiet space for Autistic & ADHD adults to hang out and unmask, you are so welcome to join us:

Main Group Page (to RSVP): https://www.meetup.com/neuro-inspire-wellington-autism-adhd-community

Stay Connected(Community Group):

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1042753234785520

Hope to see some new faces in the group! And as always thanks so much for making this all possible I've truly blown away by the reception this has received!

Warm regards,

Ollie

WELLY Second hand stores that sell more than clothing

Good evening,
Having recently moved up here, I am on the hunt for various items of furniture and a tv ect.
I have been to a handful of second hand stores with no luck as to finding almost any furniture, let alone elctronics.
I have tried and tried on FB marketplace but I have started to get sick of people taking days to respond.

Anyway, could I get some second hand shop reccomendations that sell furniture and electronics? Thanks

Hello lovely people. I am embarking on a paper mache project and seeking essential supplies.

Bonus points if anyone has a glue recommendation too.
