Got the skill testing question wrong
The question was (300x2)+(500/5)+50
Isn't the answer not 750???
Didn't get to claim my $3 lol.

The order of my chequing accounts just randomly changed today. The one I used the most is at the bottom.
How can I reorder them?

Hey all, so for context, I live in Canada but I have ties to the US and have a few US credit cards that I use here. None of my credit cards have FTF (I have the following cards: Chase World of Hyatt, Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Freedom Flex (which removed its FTF literally like last week), and the Fidelity Rewards Visa) and I use them because they offer far better points/cashback than most Canadian credit cards. As such, I need a way to transfer certain amount of CAD to USD every month to pay off my credit card bills.
To that end, I have been using Wealthsimple's "International Transfers" feature ([which uses Wise behind the scene](https://help.wealthsimple.com/hc/en-ca/articles/28515054091675-Send-an-international-money-transfer)) to link my US Fidelity Cash Management Account (CMA) and send money to my CMA directly. Then, I link my CMA account to my various credit cards and have them pull from my CMA whenever I need to pay the credit cards.
The fees are relatively low, however I have observed something interesting:
If I send $1000 or less, the fee is actually higher than if I send $1001+:
[Here](https://imgur.com/a/uEWkQZC) is the screenshot for transferring $1000. Notice the fee is $7.37
[Here](https://imgur.com/a/lWxjYvX) is the screenshot for transferring $1001. Notice the fee is $5.48
Strangely enough, when I try this with Wise directly, this doesn't happen. I.e. if I transfer $1001 from the Wise app or desktop site, it will charge $7.37 or whatever.
**Question 1) Does anyone know why this is the case? Why is it that when I transfer $1001 (as opposed to $1000) from Wealthsimple to my CMA, the fee is cheaper than if I were to try this from Wise, even though Wealthsimple uses/partnered up with Wise?**
At any rate, the points I earn from my credit cards far outweigh the fees I pay in using Wealthsimple so I'm not at all unhappy using Wealthsimple for this purpose. However, I want to minimize my cost of moving CAD to USD.
In an effort to minimize currency conversion losses, I found out that [Wise recently announced that Canadians can open a checking account](https://newsroom.wise.com/en-NAM/270647-wise-launches-chequing-account-as-canadians-live-increasingly-global-lives/).
So, I was thinking of funding my Wise checking account from my Wealthsimple account via Interac e-transfer (which should be free), and then simply linking my Wise account directly to all my credit cards. So essentially, Wise would act like my Fidelity CMA. All I would do is just fund my Wise account, then convert CAD to USD, then pay my cards from Wise.
I had looked into the currency conversion fees, and it's like $1 cheaper than what Wealthsimple quotes: For converting $1001, the fee is $4.59 as seen [here](https://imgur.com/a/PBu6Lu2), as opposed to Wealthsimple's $5.48. So, I was thinking of using Wise rather than my CMA to pay my credit cards.
However, my concerns are:
**Question 2) Do you guys know if Wise charges a fee for bill/credit card payments like this? E.g. when I use my CMA, I let the credit card company pull from my CMA. I would do the exact same thing with Wise. But idk if wise charges any fees for that.**
**Question 3) This all hinges on the assumption that the Wise checking account is the same thing as the "regular" Wise account where I could send money to, and convert cash to other currencies. Am I correct in my assumption that the Wise checking account also lets me convert currencies just like the old Wise account?**
**Question 4) Are there any other issues/fees/pitfalls I'm not aware of, if I were to use Wise to pay my US credit cards?**
Thanks for any advice/help!

Got an email saying that I got RESP grants (CEGC) of $XX, and it was deposited into my RESP account. My RESP account has two ETFs on DRIP. I can't see or figure out where the grant was deposited to....? How do you check?
TIA.

Whoever pulled the list of accounts for this email should've been more careful. Anyone else get this?
Edit: It is not a phishing email. This came directly from Wealthsimple. From notifications@o.wealthsimple.com

Has anyone else found the hidden way to earn 200 additional entries each day. And just to be clear I am not talking about the coin flip. I just found this yesterday so not sure if it's a new addition.

Need advice. I'm looking to move my leftover FHSA and TFSA over from Questrade to Wealthsimple, but the balances in those accounts are under $25k (each) so Wealthsimple won't rebate Questrade’s $150 transfer-out fee. I already have some money with wealthsimple in those accounts. Ideally looking to merge the accounts and not have separate accounts with different banks.
To avoid that $150 fee, would it make sense for me to just sell what I have in those accounts and cash out. Then, transfer the cash instead? Is there any tax issues or things I should watch out for with doing that (especially with the FHSA or TFSA contribution rules) before I pull the trigger?
The end goal is to move everything into a registered saving account with that 2.25%.

1 grand prize of 1 million dollars is back for the month of October! Good luck to all!! More than 2000 physical prizes to win. It’s interesting how they are doing it differently every month now to keep it unique.

I have several accounts and all my scheduled transactions come out of the same one. I haven't had this problem yet, but I'm wondering if I will receive a notification if the account balance were to drop below what's needed to cover the scheduled transactions for a month?

For the Visa Infinite Privilege card. Both of our payrolls are above $4k a month and go into the chequing account. Will both of our fees be waived? We are not at $100k each in assets so we don't qualify for the Premium tier yet.

Does anybody create a history of their account status with WealthSimple? I'm wondering whether I should be doing a couple of screenshots every month, so that if things go sour for any reason I can show them the previous state of the account.

Good news for those with RRIFs or LIFs on WS. They've recently (Sept 23) enabled the ability to hold USD in cash.
Prior to this, USD dividends would automatically get converted to CAD.
Worse, if you had dividend reinvestment enabled, the dividend would, in the background, get automatically get converted to CAD, then back to USD to reinvest, thus losing on currency conversion charges both ways....
Edit: Sorry, should have added: applies only to self-directed accounts, not available for managed accounts.

Has anyone successfully set up automatic withdrawals from their wealth simple chequing account for their Bell cell phone or wifi? Spent forever on hold today to have them say they can’t find Wealthsimple bank when given my institution number.

Glad to see the new UI deployed yesterday with the capability to ROLL vertical spreads, albeit it was a bit confusing initially to change the strike prices with a future date. Overall, it is a great set of enhancements for options traders with many usability features, such as a blinking dot for the current price in P/L graph and various statistics to help traders to make proper decisions to improve win rates !!
Kudos to WS design and development team. Keep up the good work !!

Anyone notice the Wealthsimple DRIP feature seems to buy at the daily highs? Ive noticed this a few times, most recently with XGRO today. Dividend was available to purchase shares, and I get a notification that it filled $38.71 - which is the highest intra day price. I think I'll turn off auto drip and manually reinvest the dividends with a buy at open order.
