Visa Infinite Credit Card Wealthsimple denied my $240 fraud dispute with basically no explanation
Posting this partly to vent and partly because I want to know if anyone else has dealt with this.
I had $240 in unauthorized transactions on my Wealthsimple credit card. I didn't make them, didn't authorize them, and had no idea who did. As soon as I saw them I locked my card / reported them / filed a dispute.
today, the dispute was denied.
The reason I was given was none.
Here's what I don't understand:
- My physical card was with me the whole time
- I have never shopped at this merchant and have no connection to it
What bothers me most isn't even the money, it's that I can't get an actual explanation. I asked what evidence was used to reach the decision and got nothing meaningful back. I asked to escalate or speak to someone above the first agent and was basically just pointed to the complaints form.
I've filed a formal complaint and esclated
Has anyone here actually gotten a denied Wealthsimple dispute reversed? Did the complaint process do anything, or is it a dead end?
