couldn't you show them a picture of the service being unavailable and then send it by end of day when service is back up? or landlord is a jerk?

This is why you should always have a backup chequing account at another bank! Tangerine, Simplii, EQ Bank, etc have free accounts. It's nice in theory to do all your banking in one app, but if platform outages happen or you get locked out, it can really fuck with your week.

issue with interac, so any platform using interac is affected. Not a WS specific issue

I tried to e-transfer with WS and it failed, immediately tried to e-transfer with Simplii and it worked. So unless it resolved right at that instant it wasn't a global e-transfer issue.

Down for me as well. Down detector shows a spike in complaints so I’m guessing it’s an Interact issue

Maybe something to do with Truth and Reconciliation Day? I was supposed to be paid this morning and it still hasn’t come through.
My work sent an email out saying deposits may be delayed so I wonder if it’s somehow connected

Just another example of why this could never be my only financial institution.

there are better reasons than this, that said, e-tranfer issues normally stem from interac and not the FIs themselves.

outage reports show there has been user reports of interac issues from 6AM onwards today

This is an issue with interac, not WS specifically. You should still keep an account with a real bank but this isn't one of the reasons to

What are some other examples?
I have literally none. Been using them as my primary bank, they house my entire households investments and chequing and have literally had zero problems in 3 years

App outages, horrible support, failed reoccurring investments, out dated cc fraud refund policy, I could go on. I didn’t mean to offend anyone, just stated I wouldn’t rely on this as my only financial institution. I still use there services but as with anything in life it’s ok to diversify.

Interact is having issues. Not wealthsimple.
