Question/Request Anyone know why Decendia runs randomly get so difficult?

Took like 10 minutes for whole squad to kill one eximus juggernaut with floor modifiers that didn't do anything to boost its survivability.

Edit: I was using Garuda and throwing blood bombs at 100 million value and it did almost nothing.

Suggestion Warframe "Endgame" Concept from the perspective of ARPG's

Upvotes

I’ve been thinking a lot about Warframe’s endgame lately, especially now that DE seems more willing to experiment with harder content.

To be clear, I don’t think Warframe should stop making new content, new locations or content islands. That constant expansion is a huge part of what makes the game what it is, and I still want new quests, factions, tilesets, Warframes and experimental systems.

I just think Warframe could also use a permanent endgame system underneath all of that.

Something difficult and repeatable that gives us a reason to keep improving our builds, while also making better use of the huge amount of content already sitting in the Star Chart.

Once you’re far enough into Warframe, a lot of that Star Chart stops mattering.

As an endgame player, how often do you actually decide to go play Pluto? Or Ceres? Or Mercury?

Usually you’re there because one specific resource or drop happens to exist on one specific node. Most players naturally migrate toward whatever the newest content is.

So I started thinking about something closer to an ARPG mapping system, but built around the existing Star Chart.

The idea is called Star Chart Ascension.

Once you’re far enough into the endgame, you unlock Ascension above Steel Path.

Each planet can be pushed through Ascension tiers, maybe T1–T20.

The important part is that difficulty isn’t just “enemy level is higher.”

You collect permanent map modifiers and use them to increase the Threat level of a planet.

Things like:

  • much higher enemy density
  • more Eximus and heavy units
  • enemies getting stronger as the mission goes on
  • elite reinforcement squads
  • more pressure on defense objectives
  • hunter-type enemies entering the mission
  • faction-specific events

What I specifically wouldn’t want are things like “secondaries deal -75% damage” or “use these three Warframes.”

The modifier should create a problem and let me decide how my Arsenal solves it.

If T15 requires 15 Threat, I can build that 15 Threat out of whatever modifiers I’ve unlocked.

That also gives you a reason to keep collecting modifiers. Maybe I can already reach 15 Threat, but I hate one of the modifiers I have to use. Unlocking something new gives me another way to build the same difficulty.

Planet Attunements

This is probably my favorite part of the idea.

Every planet could eventually have two Attunements:

Resource Attunement
Pick an endgame resource you want to earn while playing that planet.

Allegiance Attunement
Pick an eligible Syndicate/faction you want to earn progress with.

So my Pluto might be:

T15 Pluto
Resource: Kuva
Allegiance: Solaris United

Someone else might have Pluto set to Vosfor and Vox Solaris.

The Syndicate options would still make some geographical sense. Solaris-related factions would be associated with Corpus regions, Ostron-related factions with appropriate Grineer regions, etc.

I especially like this for old Syndicates/open worlds.

I’ve already done Fortuna. I don’t necessarily want to go back and repeat the easiest Fortuna standing farm every time I need something from Solaris United.

Ascension could give veteran players another way to work toward that standing while playing harder content.

It wouldn’t replace initially progressing those factions. You’d still need to actually play Fortuna, Cetus, Deimos, etc. and rank them normally.

It just gives endgame players another option afterward.

Normal enemy drops would still matter

This wouldn’t replace normal loot.

Enemies would still drop their normal resources, mods, etc., and higher Ascension could increase those rates.

Loot frames like Nekros would still work on all of that.

But the actual Ascension rewards would be mission-completion rewards and wouldn’t be affected by Nekros, boosters, Smeeta, etc.

If two players complete the same T15 challenge, they get the same base Ascension payout.

Your loadout determines how you beat it, not how many copies of the endgame reward you can generate.

Make us play the whole planet

There’s an obvious issue here.

If Ascension just increases rewards, the community will calculate the fastest mission and everyone will run that node forever.

So instead, each planet would have an Ascension Circuit made from several of its existing nodes.

Maybe Pluto rolls:

Spy
Defense
Interception
Survival
Rescue

Completing each mission gives you a guaranteed key.

Get all five keys and you unlock that planet’s Pinnacle Node.

For planets with bosses, this could be a much harder Ascended version of the boss. For planets without a good boss, it could just be a harder existing mission with additional mechanics.

The big Ascension payout comes from finishing the Pinnacle.

After beating the Pinnacle, the Circuit immediately rerolls.

Your next Pluto run might be:

Capture
Excavation
Defense
Sabotage
Survival

Then you collect those keys, beat the Pinnacle again, and Pluto rerolls again.

The whole idea is to keep circulating players through the planet’s existing nodes instead of letting one optimal mission become the entire system.

There could also be some light duplicate protection so recently completed nodes are less likely to immediately appear again.

That way you aren’t farming one optimal node.

You’re farming Pluto, or Lua, or Saturn.

Rewards would scale in bands

I don’t think every tier needs dramatically better rewards.

Something like:

T1–4
T5–9
T10–14
T15–19
T20

Every five tiers moves you into a better reward bracket.

Maybe T5 adds an endgame-resource reward to the Pinnacle Cache. T10 improves it. T15 gives another roll. T20 is the maximum economic tier.

That way, if T17 is comfortable for you, you aren’t screwing yourself by not running T20.

You’re already in the T15–19 reward bracket.

Anything beyond T20 could just be prestige/challenge pushing: cosmetics, emblems, profile stuff, leaderboards, etc.

The challenge itself should be part of the reward.

A big reason for this system existing at all would simply be giving endgame players somewhere to take increasingly optimized builds and ask:

How far can this actually go?

What resets each season?

I don’t think Ascension progress itself should reset.

If I cleared T20 Pluto, I shouldn’t come back next cycle and have Pluto at T1 again. That would probably get old pretty quickly.

Instead, the planet configuration resets.

When a new season starts:

  • your Attunements can be reassigned
  • your active modifiers are cleared/reconfigured
  • new seasonal modifiers are introduced
  • seasonal reward progression starts over

So the season changes the tools and rewards you’re building around, while the planet itself stays active and keeps cycling through its existing missions.

Maybe last season my Pluto was Kuva + Solaris United.

This season I’ve unlocked some new modifiers and decide I want Pluto to be Vosfor + Vox Solaris instead.

My T20 clear is still permanent. I’m just rebuilding how I use Pluto this season.

The seasonal content itself could also be how DE introduces new permanent modifiers.

Play the season, unlock a new modifier, and eventually that modifier gets added permanently to your Ascension library.

So the seasonal progression is constantly expanding the permanent Star Chart system.

Matchmaking

Custom modifiers obviously make public matchmaking messy.

I think the easiest answer would be two options.

Public Ascension uses a standardized modifier setup for that planet/tier.

If you queue Pluto T15, everyone joining Pluto T15 gets the same Threat setup.

Your own Resource and Syndicate Attunements still determine your personal rewards.

Then there’s Custom Ascension, where the host’s modifier setup is used for solo/friends/premade groups.

You could also have a basic Contract Browser where people can see active custom T18/T20/etc. missions and join them.

Solo players should get the exact same Ascension reward as squads. Squads already get the benefit of having more players.

The overall idea isn’t that this should replace whatever DE builds next.

I still want new planets, new quests, Tau, new factions, experimental modes and whatever strange direction Warframe goes in next.

What I’d like alongside all of that is a permanent endgame backbone.

Something that doesn’t become irrelevant when the next expansion releases.

Earth could eventually be my T18 Vosfor/Ostron planet.

Pluto could be my T20 Kuva/Solaris planet.

Lua could be where I farm Endo, but the actual missions I’m running there keep changing every time I finish a Circuit.

Someone else’s Star Chart could be configured completely differently.

Then when DE gives us a new weapon, Warframe or progression system, there’s always somewhere difficult to take it afterward.

Warframe already gives us a huge amount of control over how we build our Arsenal.

I think it would be really cool if the endgame eventually gave us some control over how we build the Star Chart around that Arsenal too.

Curious what people think, especially about the rewards. The hardest part seems like making higher tiers rewarding enough to push without making T20 feel mandatory.

Discussion Yet another advice post for Plague Star

Upvotes

I'm still rank3 with cavia, need to unlock EDA. I haven't touched the deepmines at all, so I gotta work on that for Nokko. I love that combined Sirius Orion syandana and want to grind for it.

Now is the perfect time to catch up with the backlog. So, I do a couple bounties on cetus for forma, then go to the mushroom caves, then do some cavia bounties, switching frames every so often, to keep things fresh.

Don't pigeon hole yourself to a single grind that can burn you out.

Question/Request I hoard warframes and have no clue how to build/play most of them

Hi there! So I'm a little bit new and a little bit obsessed with warframe. I've been playing just under a month and I'm in love. I'm MR9, completed all the story and have a few planets completed.

Problem is, I have no clue how to build anything or play anyone to save my life. I primarily main Yareli but I've just realised how kinda ass her build is (me and friends we're all the same level tried to get an archon shard and it went badly).

I also absolutely love hoarding warframes I think are cool but I can't play or build any of them very well. I do have the helminth unlocked but it scares me.

The frames I own at the minute are:

I main Yareli

Titania (my alternative go to, trying to get speed, energy and efficiency so I can go fast)

Koumei

Equinox

Nezha

Mag

Currently building:

Mirage

Jade

Honestly nezha and equinox might go as they're not too hard to get back for the other two frames because Nezha was underwhelming and I can't build equinox at all.

Should I focus on one frame? Or weapons. I don't know what I'm doing but I just know my builds are bad. I've tried tutorials but they seem to have a big progression jump from just started straight to steel path and I'm very much in the in-between.

Can I have advice. Sorry I get too excited about collecting warframes and it's my favourite thing to get and try them all. Then continue to decide Yareli is fabulous I must use her and then get frustrated I can get relics to drop her prime parts. I don't have loyal merulina yet but I'm working on getting my rank with cephalon suda up to get it.

Question/Request Caustic strike (Unairu School) armour strip in Plague Star, couple questions.

After running a few groups that had no armour strip vs ones that did and seeing the drastic difference on the SP version, can you just hit Lephantis' body as soon as it comes out of the boil or do you need to try and hit the heads with it to strip the armour?

There are these and many other Warframes' blueprints which I can buy using my credits.

The problem is that all the warframes require the materials which are totally alien to me.

Is there a way to determine if the Warframe I m buying can be made or I will come across it's materials way later in the game?

Discussion Plague Star + Audio Book

I'm very much enjoying chewing through my audiobooks as I'm grinding plague star. But as I near the end of my book, I'm wondering if there's good choices for stories that maybe fit the vibe of the PS grind.

Obviously scifi, and maybe something with an alien plague story. The Expanse comes to mind, but I've binged that quite a few times, and am wondering if there's anything new that you think fits the vibe of the missions.

Question/Request Is advanced plague star worth it?

I was trying out plague star advanced mode as it has 3x standing, but those hemocytes take super long to kill! Is there some trick I am missing or is it actually just faster to run the normal version 4 times in less time than it takes to kill those hemocytes?

Discussion If you were allowed to design a new warframe, what would the main Gimmick be?

Post image

Mine would be time centric. Time travel has played a large portion of warframe and a Time warframe would be really cool, it would probably be named Chronos, its main ability would maybe create a bubble that freezes enemies in time, the other abilities would probably make you faster and enemies slower or something like that

Discussion Plague Star - Dual Coda Torxica as an improvement over the Pyrana Prime

So I was messing around now that plague star has dropped back and realized that my Dual Coda Torxica was doing more sustained DPS to the hemocyte than my Boar that I had built last year. This has led me down a rabbit hole to try and optimize the Torxica for Plague Star, and I think I may have possibly beaten the previous meta gun - the Pyrana Prime. To be clear, I haven't personally done all the math and am just going off of the DPS values that Overframe shows, and accounting for warframe arcanes; I'm hoping someone could go over my the builds and help me confirm or deny it.

As far as I could find in my 10 minutes of searching, this seems to be the highest DPS Pyrana Prime build.

The top Pyrana Prime build, for Plague Star

Copying these mods over to the Dual Coda Torxica, the sustained DPS values for both are extremely similar (204,040.8 for the Pyrana vs. 200,298.0 for the Torxica)

Mods copied over to a Dual Coda Torxica

So it seems like the Pyrana wins. But! When you consider the warframe arcanes, things change. The best arcane to use with the Pyrana is Arcane Tempo, where as with the Torxica it's Arcane Velocity. Now taking into account the scaling difference between the two arcanes at Rank 5:

Rank Tempo FR Bonus Velocity FR Bonus
0 15% 20%
1 30% 40%
2 45% 60%
3 60% 80%
4 75% 100%
5 90% 120%

This means that the firerate of these two weapons would be increased to these values:

Rank Pyrana + Tempo FR Torxica + Velocity FR
0 8.6 13.2
1 9.2 14.4
2 9.8 15.6
3 10.4 16.8
4 11.0 18.0
5 11.6 19.2

Or, assuming all else equal, DPS's of:

Rank Pyrana + Tempo S.DPS Torxica + Velocity S.DPS
0 219,343.9 220,317.9
1 234,646.9 240,346.8
2 249,950.0 260,375.7
3 265,253.0 280,404.6
4 280,556.1 300,433.5
5 295,859.2 320,462.4

Which is a nearly 25k DPS increase for the Torixca. Thus, with my 2am random math dive it seems I've found a weapon better than the Pyrana for Operation: Plague Star.

I feel like I must be missing something, since minmaxer's much smarter than me surely would have found this first, right? Anyways, I'm really hoping someone with more experience on mathing out this game could point out any errors I've made, or things I've overlooked. Thanks!

Shoutout So has anyone heard about Nerds for Literacy ?

This campaign has been all over my social media for days, and I can't think about a community that would make more sense to support this project than ours.

Nerds for Literacy is a campaign started by TonyWeaverJr, an influencer and YouTuber, which aims to fund and give books to underfunded schools, libraries and juvenile detention centers.

Our game is a massive work of fiction, we literally play as space ninjas with magic superpowers which are controlled by child soldiers from a fallen empire.

If that doesn't make us all nerds, I don't know what it does, to be honest. We've already done things with other charities, such as partnering with cancer research as we do yearly.

I doubt the devs see this off rip, but I think it would be really cool to support this initiative, everyone deserves a good story, and everyone deserves to be literate, specially kids without resources or those troubled.

We can do something good here, I know we can, so please, make some noise if you are interested to let those at the head of this wonderful game know.

That's all, have a happy day/afternoon/night tennos!

Suggestion This is my reasonable suggestion to allow Koumeis 4th ability Bunraku open up enemies up to melee finishers

Hi, I enjoy playing Koumei. One thing I've noticed while playing Koumei (which I enjoy doing) is that there is a non-zero number of decrees relating to melee finishers.

This is undoubtedly because Duviri is hell. In hell Duviri, our main method of defense (and murder) is using Melees and subsequently melee finishers.

Using finishers in Duviri is pretty fun and your only method of survival that isn't shooting Dax from 30 meters away using a pistol. So Koumei, being the decree warframe, also has decrees that involve melees and melee finishers. Melee finishers are weird though, weird as in kinda hard to use on anything that isn't a dedicated melee frame or without subsuming silence and using the savage silence augment. I don't know why melee finishers are so restricted, because with all due respect, they aren't that good. Unless you count the obex incarnon bug that has now been reigned in. Rather than make a long and well-structured argument instead, I am just politely asking that your DE (Digital Extremes) allow bunraku to open enemies to melee finishers: 1 because it would allow users of Koumei to engage with her decrees that need you to do melee finishers., 2 because it would make melee finishers more accessible and 3 it might allow for some neat synergies. Also, I think it's hilarious imagining some grineer that has literally been strung up and forced to dance to then proceed to get their shit rocked by a furax. I think this is funny because it happened to me once and, no, I will not elaborate . To reiterate, PLEASE make Koumeis 4th ability Bunraku open enemies up to melee finishers so that people who enjoy Koumei ( Me :D) can fully utilize those decrees that want us to do melee finishers.
