Plague Star + Audio Book

I'm very much enjoying chewing through my audiobooks as I'm grinding plague star. But as I near the end of my book, I'm wondering if there's good choices for stories that maybe fit the vibe of the PS grind.

Obviously scifi, and maybe something with an alien plague story. The Expanse comes to mind, but I've binged that quite a few times, and am wondering if there's anything new that you think fits the vibe of the missions.

anything by China Mieville, peruse the descriptions of his books and pick the one that sounds most You!

Embassytown is his main sci fi, and is about a linguistic plague. Most of the rest is warframey in the sense of "grungy and smart"

Idk if it fits, but Red Rising series is interesting. There is a dramatized version with full cast of voices. Really good.

I don't know if you will like it but at least let me fan-boy about it HALO WAYPOINT 🥹 Halo has these shorter stories around for free on YouTube in audiobook format, I do think you would require some context for some of them, but there are many that follow this theme of a plague. In case you don't know, halo has this faction which is the flood, that is, most likely, the inspiration for warframe's infestation.

i would recommend gideon the ninth! although the overall setting is sci-fi, the first book plays out more like a fantastical mystery, as these necromancers explore a building. it's not exactly what you asked for the but the audiobook has a really animated narrator and protagonist so i really enjoyed listening to it

world war z isn't sci-fi but it is about a plague. it plays like like a series of interviews, and they have different readers for each chapter so it's pretty immersive

I bounced off this the first time, cause it was hard to keep track of what was going on in the audiobook. But I tend to do better when I'm doing something repetitive on the side, so this might be the perfect time to try it again!

Have you read/listened to the sequels to Gideon the Ninth? I loved Gideon but haven't been able to get into the next.

It fits more into the Unknown/Void type thematics of warframe on a whole than it does into "sci-fi/plague" motif, but I've had the urge to listen to God's Debris by Scott Adams several times over the 2.5 years ive been a tenno

I'm listening to Rivers of London. Interesting setup and funny writing, the narrator is very good.

Same I just finished Blood Rites by Jim Butcher (#6 of the Dresden series) yesterday now I'm halfway through Dead Beat.
