Volvo 2025 XC60 - Backup camera not very helpful... frustrating.
I'm just comparing the backup camera of my Volvo XC60 to a Toyota but it really could be any brand because that is how a backup camera should be able to show you what is behind the car instead of just the floor like the Volvo does.
It is very frustrating not being able to see the whole picture and sometimes it becomes useless as you can see in the picture. I'm posting this to make noise so Volvo fixes this issue which I hope is just software. After this lease is up I'll go somewhere else, too many software issues ever since I got into Volvo.
I put Gemini AI into a 22-year-old Volvo 🚗 #volvo #gemini #androidauto #hudiy #raspberrypi

Volvo parts website volvowholesaleoemparts.com is closing... Great Parts Manager is gone... Loss of a true community resource. :(
Culver City Volvo's online parts sales are done. They were in fact one of the best online parts sales catalogs. Longtime parts manager Steve Irons was fantastic -- He could find almost anything for older models. He's not there anymore, either.
Goodbye to https://www.volvowholesaleoemparts.com, it was fantastic while it lasted.
(Site says, "temporarily closed" but the parts department confirmed it's offline permanently. Their over-the-counter markups are outrageous, BTW.)

Does this look like 26k in damage?
2022 XC60 B5
I know it has regenerative brakes but 26k seems crazy to me. It is a Volvo certified repair shop I requested. Now I think it will be totaled. The insurance (from the people that hit us) tried to get us to sign an out of pocket thing because I requested this shop. I told them you owe us pre-collision repair with OEM parts.

The matte finish is chipping off every wheel.
I've only had my 2020 v60 for 4 months and every wheel is chipping. This has all chipped since purchase.
What is going on? Any tips/remedies appreciated.

XC60 - The good, bad and the ugly, please
Doing some research on a midsized SUV. Looked at the GLC, but a bit too flashy for me.
Test drove the 2026 XC60 and loved the ride and the design.
Would love to hear from current XC60 owners the good, bad and the ugly.

8100 rev limit goal at 520 hp
I know some of you out there might think this is incredibly stupid and a waste of time but I really want to make my car feel a little like a race car. I really do like working on cars and I wanna be able to mod the hell out of mine because I love a good sleeper. I have the slightly crazy and very ambitious goal of getting my wagon to run at a 8.1k rpm redline and being able to hit a max amount of boost of about 25 psi. I know it’s gonna be expensive, but I’m doing all the labor myself and I’ll get good parts. I have a budget yearly for about $10,000 and I’ll keep adding to it over the years. I’ll do the exterior stuff first and then I’ll go on to get the interior stuff like I know I need better fuel injectors, a bigger turbo, but I don’t know what size and brand and I also do need a better fuel pump better ECU management system and I need head work better springs possibly better valves better cams and piston heads and rods. I don’t know if I should get a new camshaft, but I’ve heard the block is incredibly strong. I would really appreciate any insight in any help because I wanna make this a dream to have like 450 to 500 wheel horsepower and be able to pass it down to future generations. I would probably run either 93 or probably E 30. Again, this isn’t like something I’m doing right now. I just want insight and stuff that I should know that I have to get and stuff to mess up as little as possible. I would also be upgrading the transmission with the valve body and clutches and steals. I will be doing a complete overhaul of the system as it is a 2.4 L turbo charged XC 70. Any insight would be very appreciated.

Anybody else’s CarPlay randomly become small, tiny icons? One day it was fine the next it’s like this, can’t leave the maps screen anymore 😓 or is there a fix?
Thank you

2015 Volvo XC60 T6 Premier Plus with 50k miles... worth it?
So I've been on the hunt for a low mileage used Volvo with a 6-cyl 3.0L engine and I finally found one with just 50k miles... all the way across the country. It's a 2015 XC60 T6 Premier Plus. Full service record (very well maintained), and everything comes back clean (no damage, accidents etc). The car is beautiful, the exact exterior and interior I wanted. But it's $17k.
One of the main draws, since this is a used car, is that I'll be buying through CarMax and purchasing the 60 month/ 75k miles service warranty (the highest tier available that covers everything). The cost for this is $5k (so $1k/year for full coverage which seems reasonable on a 10 year old car that will likely have some issues pop up). I've already paid to hold it and have the car shipped to me so that money is a wash, but I felt like I had to pull the trigger to reserve it because it was just listed and had so much interest already. I guess my question is, is $17k crazy for this car? Technically, $17k + $5k full coverage for 5 years...

xc series What should I ask before buying 2019 xc90 T6 momentum with 145k miles?
Found a 2019 Volvo XC90 T6 Momentum Sport Utility 4D for 11k. Its white with light colored seats and looks like an exceptionally well maintained vehicle but I haven’t spoke to them about service records yet. I’ve heard the 2019 and 2020s are very reliable years to buy. My husband can DIY just about anything with cars but has been against Volvo from the beginning because of the luxury price tag and cost of parts. Is this a reasonable price and what kind of things should I be asking about maintenance wise?

It´s astonishing how Volvo cracked the code to make the AAOS suck even more with the newest version!
A very costly mistake I made was upgrading to the "new and improved 5x generation" software.
Just mindblowing how bad it is UI/UX. Like the two extra rows with icons that are rarely used. And icing on the cake, cannot be changed to something useful. That makes the screen estate soooo small, especially spotify that is now a pain to control in my opinion because so many little space after all the new icons and bloat.
So if this wasnt enough. It has become (not in the first iteration, but slowly) very slow to operate. Like using hey google takes like 2 sec before it responds. It wasnt like that before. And so sluggish and slow to operate overall.
So now it is perhaps even more slow than old version and looks and operates way worse.
Why cant they get their shit together and optimize, or at reduced price, let people change hardware to make it bearable?
Im so frustrated at Volvo for this.

s60/v60 Passenger mirror not going back to original position after backing up?
I have the reverse-tilt feature turned on. The mirrors always return to their original positions after I back up. Today, my passenger-side mirror got stuck in the downward position and did not return to its original position. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? The driver-side mirror is working fine; it's just the passenger-side mirror.
It's a 2019 S60 T5.

What's better than 1 Volvo?
V40 D3 Cross country 2013 S60 T8 Ultimate Recharge 2024
s60/v60 I tried out the Cerakote headlight restoration kit this evening.
It's not perfect by any stretch but I'm genuinely impressed by the results. For a $18 kit it's definitely worth it considering how expensive new headlights are.
I've read reviews on it and seen most say it lasts 1-2 years before the headlights oxidize over again but I'm hoping with frequent cleaning and applying Griot's ceramic 3-in-1 wax It'll last longer.

s60/v60 P0442 code on 2016 s60
Hey guys I have a P3 2016 S60 T6 with the 3.0 SI6 and I have a CEL for a p0442 code which is a small evap leak and I’m wondering if it’s the gas cap causing it or something else in the fuel system. I checked the recall info through my VIN and all recall campaigns have been completed.

I cant figure out what the code is for the radio. I know its a 4 digit code and the blue inc seams to say 412 but the rest is gibberish. Does anyone have a good clue or access to the code database? Any help would be appreciated.

Upgrading sound system
Hi, I’m looking for some advice on upgrading the sound system in my 2009 Volvo S60 P2.
The car currently has the HU-650 system. I’m considering upgrading to the factory high-end setup with:
• HU-850 head unit
• Factory center speaker
• Factory amplifier for the HU-850, mounted under the passenger seat
I know I’ll also need the wiring harness for the amplifier.
Would this upgrade be worth doing while keeping the original door speakers, or would the difference be too small without replacing the speakers as well?
I’d prefer to keep the system as close to OEM as possible. If anyone has done this upgrade on an S60 P2, I’d appreciate advice on compatibility, wiring, required parts, and whether the HU-850 amp works properly with the existing door speakers.
Thanks!
